Pelosi’s Bitterness Shines Through, Slamming Wage Raises and Immigration Negotiation

What the heck was wrong with Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) on Thursday? I planned to write up one set of comments, but I’m glad I didn’t because another set of comments came up today that received criticism from her #2 in the House.

These comments included slamming the companies that have used their savings from the tax reform bill to give raises and bonuses to their employees. Then she criticized the fact that five white guys have started to work on a DACA bill and asked if they wanted to open a hamburger stand, which Minority Steny Hoyer (D-MD) called offensive.

Wage Increases are “Pathetic”

Way to show you’re for the working class, Pelosi. Ever since Congress and President Donald Trump signed the tax reform bill, companies have announced massive changes that include bonuses and raises for employees.

I said during the process that the more money a company can keep the more those in charge can raise salaries and expand, thus creating more jobs.

No, that’s not good enough for Pelosi.

The Washington Free Beacon provided this transcript:

“A number of companies are attributing the tax bill for being able to give higher wages to their employees as well as being able to give a number of bonuses to their employees. How do you respond to that?” a reporter asked.

Pelosi appeared to be talking about AT&T when she responded by downplaying the bonuses and saying that it was already part of a union contract. She went on to say that the same firm told their employees that they would be laying off 1,500 people and that if they wanted to save their jobs then they would have to work 32 hours per week.

“In terms of the bonus that corporate America received versus the crumbs that they are giving workers to kind of put the schmooze on is so pathetic. It’s so pathetic,” Pelosi said.

“I would hope that with their big advantage of bringing money home at a very low rate that they would invest in infrastructure and things, but our experience has been that they will do dividends, do stock buybacks, and things like that. I think it’s insignificant,” Pelosi added.

Actually, Nancy, some have included infrastructure. Comcast officials said that they wand to spend “well in excess of $50 billion over the next five years investing in infrastructure to radically improve and extend our broadband plant and capacity, and our television, film and theme park offerings.”

Fiat Chrysler will use the savings for employees and also move a plant from Saltillo, Mexico to Warren Michigan.

Southwest Airlines will use some of the savings to purchase even more planes from Boeing.

Hamburger Stand

Pelosi then went on to complain that “five white guys” have led the immigration talks and did not include any minority members. From Politico:

You mean besides the obvious? Well, she is just another sore loser crybaby that can’t accept the failure of her ideology. The only difference is she has access to microphones often.

Pelosi feels $1000 is a “crumb”. Well, perhaps to someone that spend that much on a pair of shoes or much more than than on failed facelifts, but I would certainly like to have a thousand bucks.

That’s the face of your party, liberals. That’s who represents you. And, it doesn’t bother you one bit.

When you become a multi-millionaire on a public servants salary you lose touch with people that download a gas APP or clip coupons. 1000 bucks to some is grocery money for a month might let them buy a better cut of meat, get the kids some new clothes, get the breaks on the car fixed new tires ect….
Pelosi and her ilk are so out of touch so wrong on what an extra 25 bucks a month taken away in taxes can mean to some.
Let her talk let her voice be heard by those that 1000 dollars still means something.
If 1000 dollars is peanuts let every department and agency in the government be cut by that much every year for 5 years, these idiots that rant its a cut when there is no increase in funds, no decrease just no increase.

@kitt: What Pelosi and her ilk can’t stand is people being allowed to keep more of their own money instead of her taking it from them, then dangling a carrot in front of them, offering some of their own earnings in exchange for votes. If people can vote liberal or conservative based solely on their individual merits (rather than one threatening to cut off subsidies), liberalism loses miserably.

Poster girl for term limits.

Under Obama, when a payroll deduction was going to be increased by $40 every 2 weeks Dems, under Pelosi stated:

$40 is real money for working families, as people all over the country told us. That money buys things like school lunches, the gas needed to get to work or visit ailing relatives, and co-pays for doctor visits and essential prescription medicines.

Trump again offers GOP votes to make Pelosi speaker. This time it doesn’t sound like he’s joking.

I don’t know. I think it’s kind of funny. I suppose it all depends on who you think the joke is on.

@Greg: It is funny. Pelosi will cause a rift among the Democrats. Even your wunderkinder up and coming socialist genius Alexandria opposes her. Pelosi, in true liberal fashion, makes it a “gender” argument. She’ll, win, of course, because the Democrats are subservient to MONEY, but she will stoke resentment.

VERY funny, but I don’t think you get the joke… yet.
