From what I understand the Obama bill was packed with PORK for Michelle’s EXTRA Food Stamps for uppity people who want to by organic high-priced food…..SNAP!
But House Republicans stripped that ”gimme money” out of the bill, leaving it plenty to help drought-stricken farmers.
Their version should have been reconciled in the Senate and on Obama’s desk, but the SENATE (Harry Reid!!) let it die.

Which House Farm Bill would FOX News be referring to? The totally inadequate short term package that the House quickly threw together before bugging out to get down to the really important business of campaigning?
Oh, my, I guess Greg, and the New York Slimes, thinks that the House did not leave for August vacation under Nancy Pelosi. No, the Dems would never leave on vacation with work still left to do. After all, there is soooooo much money to still steal from the American taxpayer.
Congress managed to pass H.R.6124—the 2007-2008 Farm Bill—in spite of political divisions and multiple presidential vetos.
The current republican House majority can’t even manage to reach a meaningful agreement among themselves. Nancy Pelosi has nothing to do with the problem.
They have managed to hold pointless votes to repeal all or part of The Affordable Care Act 33 times. Apparently they just can’t resist repeating the exercise.
Greg, did you even bother to read the original farm bill? I did. You see, living in a ranching/farming community, bills like this are important to my friends and neighbors. It is a leviathan that will only benefit large corporate farms, not the small farmer/rancher who has been suffering due to the lack of rain.
You really should start doing some research instead of just being a Democrat parrot.

@Nan G: Do you know what the term “uppity” connotes? I doubt too many people on SNAP use organic food to feed their families. And, what if some of them do? Not all people want to get poisoned by their food and water.
