You would never see obama doing this. He cares nothing about the military.

Right. Not unless you did a Google image search using the words Obama wounded warriors, and then spent a few minutes studying the hundreds of photographs that come up. Then you might see something.

Some people care nothing about the truth.

BTW, who shot down Obama’s Veterans Job Bill proposal?

@Greg: BTW, I googled Obama wounded warrior, and I still have yet to have found Obama in the state and context of President Bush found in the picture above.

Some people care nothing about the truth.

You’re crossing over into troll territory. Quoting the NYtimes as a leftist is like quoting Fox News as a con. You are what you hate.

BTW . . .

@Disenchanted: Depends on how many MSM cameras are ready to roll.

@Greg:

Have you tried to hire a vet? It used to be so easy. Go to the department of labor and say you are interested in hiring only vets. Can’t do that any longer. I don’t know why. So instead, you get flooded with people that are looking to keep their unemployment by getting a form signed saying they showed up looking for a job.
Websites that promote vets? $300 a month for a single posting. Let me know where I can find some vets to hire without it cutting into the money I would rather pay them and I’ll do some hiring. So would a lot of other folks. Wal-Mart is hiring any vet that wants a job. They didn’t need $1 billion from the taxpayers to do that.

Aqua
we will do it for you,
WE NEED TO HIRE VETERANS ONLY,
FOR OUR BUSINESS,demanding military skills from their
unique training and experiences,
PLEASE REPORT HERE AT FLOPPING ACES, pick another name
like we do, and say you are looking to work,
and interested
TO BE CONNECTED so to ask and answer the JOB REQUIREMENT demands
how’s that ?
it was my pleasure to accomodate you AQUA, because I know you must be one good guy to work with,

@Nathan Blue: Aqua Is there any question that Repub. Senators including Rand Paul prevented the passage of the Veterans Job Bill? Shameful. Aqua Thanks for hiring Vets.
BTW The Wounded Warriors Project based here at Pendleton has received great support from this Admin.

I would have voted against it too. When did “doing something” become more important than “doing something right?”
This bill was set up to mostly give States, cities, and municipalities money to hire vets as cops and firefighters. A noble effort for sure, but what happens when that $1 billion runs out? The States, cities, and municipalities are left with the tab along with the taxpayers. That is not the federal government’s role.
It is our role, society’s role. I think we have a debt to repay to those that went to war. I know companies all over the place willing to hire vets. The thing I hear the most is, “where are all these vets that want jobs.”
We have a department of labor. Set up a website for companies to hire vets via the department that is actually responsible for doing such things.

Greg.. pull your HEAD out of your a…… and the PORK and RIDERS from the VETS BILL.. and it would SAIL RIGHT THRU…… idiot. Don’t SEE much do you….

What this administration says they are doing for Vets and reality are often two different things. Their supporters believe and parrot what they say. Talk to folks who have actually experienced it and you’ll very likely get another story.

@Aqua: Home Depot used to hire Vets big time as well. From my personal experience and that of others, I can say that doesn’t seem to be the case as it was in the past. Then again it could be the booming economy isn’t as booming as they say it is and they aren’t hiring period which may be more likely. But personal experience counts for nothing. The only thing that does count to the sheep is what Obama says.

@Hankster58, #10:

To my mind, I’m not among those who need to extract their heads from the backsides. Our current batch of elected republicans are long on talk when it comes to the appreciation of veterans, but their voting record on bills that actually turn that sentiment into meaningful help tells a different tale.

That’s not a case of isolated instances. It’s a pattern. There’s a list of veterans legislation they’ve opposed to document that fact.

Greg
AQUA told you already why they did it.
and you still repeat it.

@Aqua:

When did “doing something” become more important than “doing something right?”

When career pols just want to boost their own resumes.

This bill was set up to mostly give States, cities, and municipalities money to hire vets as cops and firefighters.

I don’t know where you live, but where I live, in most major cities, veterans are, and have been for a long time, given extra points when testing for fire departments and police departments. Matter of fact, most departments would rather have those with military service than someone just coming out of college.

We have a department of labor. Set up a website for companies to hire vets via the department that is actually responsible for doing such things.

We did. No cost to the company to list the job. No cost to the vet to work with the TWC to find a job.

http://www.twc.state.tx.us/customers/jsemp/veterans.html

We also passed legislation that virtually eliminated ad valorem taxes for vets with disabilities. The amount of the discount depends on the severity of the disability from 50% to 100%. If a vet, struggling with 100% disability has to deal with the VA, he/she doesn’t need the extra burden of having to worry about taxes on their homes.

Sure GREG… hey, I got a GREAT DEAL for you on a BRIDGE……. you game?

@ilovebeeswarzone:

Hey Bees.. what do you expect from him??? You do know, an “empty head” like his ECHOES inside right? LOL!! That probably explains it..

Hankster58
hi,
yes I heard some ringing,
I thought it was in my brain, glad you mentioned it,
nice to have you back, it’s been a while,
I listen to ACKER’s music, beautiful,
bye

Some of what Obama has done and tried to do:

http://www.military.com/benefits/2013/04/11/mil-update-obama-seeks-to-cap-pay-and-up-tricare-fees.html
(not the first time)
http://www.disabledveterans.org/2011/01/24/s-3447-gi-bill-reform-spending-cuts/
(experienced this one first hand)
http://www.military.com/daily-news/2013/03/13/dod-cutting-tuition-assistance-hurts-recruiting.html
(I believe this was stopped by Congress)
Perhaps this is one reason why his approval rating is so low amongst Active, Reserve Components, and Vets.

Think there will be any cuts to the benies our illegal immigrants receive?

@retire05:

Well I’ll be damned. I keep saying I’m going to have to move to Texas. Thanks, I have the website saved.

No edit button……
I’m also going to send this website to my State Senator and ask him why Texas understands and we don’t.

I say it again
I love TEXAS and RICK PERRY GOVERNOR,
remember he as a CANDIDATE, was just out of a back operation,
IN pain of having to stand up in line we learned after of his excruciating pain,
they attack him for a blank, like if he had done a crime from the left came the vicious comments.
he stood like a giant untouchable by dirt sligning, he has the DIGNITY AND RESOLVE RARELY SEEN,
AND THE MARK OF A TRUE LEADER he would have given to AMERICA the best of his gifts,

@ilovebeeswarzone: Don’t you hate all the MUD that CONSERVATIVES threw at your favorite Governor?

Richard Wheeler
well this is part of the vetting,
which I hope will never be needed again,
why vet the CONSERVATIVES over AN opponent who was never vetted
by his own party of DEMOCRATES,
they took him for his word and found nothing else but words,
they should be so depress to be in today,that’s why MCDERMOTT was showing
so much anger with the TEA PARTY PATRIOTS who stayed in the values of the CONSTITUTION while his leader tried to destroy it, you can feel their depression from the disappointment,
yes they have the POWER< BUT IT"S BEEN DIMINISH WITH THEIR ZERO CREDIBILITY,
from now on,
