No More Pretense: Journalists, Dems Use Identical Talking Points on Impeachment

Loading

Television journalists these days sound so similar to Democrats on impeachment that it’s nearly impossible to tell them apart. Weeks before the impeachment inquiry was even announced, talking heads were passing off Democratic talking points as objective information about the President’s alleged wrongdoing.

What follows is a compilation video of some of the liberal media’s greatest minds spouting DNC talking points. These journalists have not had their words taken out of context while attempting to summarize the Democrats’ position. Whether or not they they were intentionally regurgitating the words of Democrats, they did so without attributing their words to anyone. Watch below:

It gets worse. On October 3, New York Times columnist Frank Bruni and Politico chief political correspondent Tim Alberta both recited language from a DNC press release, verbatim. Bruni (on CNN Newsroom) and Alberta (on MSNBC’s The 11th Hour) each asserted that Vice President Pence’s professed ignorance about the President’s talks with Ukraine did not “pass the smell test,” — only a day after the DNC published a press release titled,  “Pence is an Accomplice to Trump’s Abuse of Power and his Denials Don’t Pass the Smell Test.”

And just after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on October 4 alleged that the President had “betrayed” his “oath of office,” NBC political director Chuck Todd voiced the same accusation on the NBC Nightly News as his own personal point of view: “What [Trump] has admitted to in the last 48 hours is essentially violations of his oath to the Constitution.”

Journalists also dutifully repeated Democrats’ allegations of a “coverup” by the Trump administration. For example, on October 4, CNN’s gray eminence Carl Bernstein assured the viewers of New Day: “Let’s be clear here; we are watching a cover-up. We are watching a cover-up by the President of the United States.”

Later that evening, MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow sounded alarmingly similar to Adam Schiff when she theorized that “the investigation into the cover-up” might “end up being a whole, separate article of impeachment in terms of obstruction of justice.” That latter charge — obstruction of justice — also received considerable mileage on CNN and MSNBC.

The M.S. Media and the DNC are Partners in crime against America and its citizens they are Traitors all

@Spurwing Plover: So if “Pence is an Accomplice to Trump’s Abuse of Power and his Denials Don’t Pass the Smell Test.”
After they impeach Trump republican they impeach Pence republican, Pelosi is next in line for the oval office…a Democrat and puppet of the Socalists, BAM..coup.
Socialism is not our form of government, not anything voted for in 2016 immediately we have no representation.

Obstruction of justice, they are not in anyway seeking justice, they want revenge, revenge for rejecting the NWO agenda. Impeachment is their only hope, I smell landslide 2020. Only their lockstep media spins the sewer gaslighting that any of their agenda is popular with anyone but the power brokers, spare Urban CNN MSLSD sheeple types that need the government to tell them what lightbulbs to use.
I find your posts very entertaining!

@kuntt:

After they impeach Trump republican they impeach Pence republican, Pelosi is next in line for the oval office…a Democrat and puppet of the Socalists, BAM..coup.

Well, no. If the ridiculously speculative scenario you’re describing took place, it would be carried out by following the impeachment provisions of the Constitution—not a coup at all, BAM or otherwise.

If you don’t want the guy you voted for to face the specter of impeachment and possible removal, perhaps you should vote for a guy who sticks a little closer to the letter and the spirit of the Constitution, rather than this guy.

so whore dog billy lost the football for four weeks. USSS found it under the bed of one of the bimbos he was banging in Maryland. did the media ever post this on tv? one of the most egregious expressions used by the media and the public is the word coup. I would strongly suggest that one reference the word before using it. Edward Gibbon’s work in his second vol. addresses this outlandish subject. one has to look at the history of Alcibiades to understand coups. In 410 a group of Athenians staged a coup to try and install an oligarchy-they failed. if one looks throughout history, coup(s) are not for the establishment of a democracy but the establishment but an oligarchy. WAKE UP AMERICA!

Television journalists these days sound so similar to Democrats on impeachment that it’s nearly impossible to tell them apart.

The simplest explanation is that they’re all reporting the same issues and the same facts having to do with the same reality. For example, the White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney openly acknowledged today in front of news cameras and a room full of reporters that there was, in fact, an intention to turn military aid to Ukraine into a quid pro quo arrangement, where aid was contingent upon an effort to investigate Joe Biden and his son. He not only admitted it but defended it, suggesting it was no big deal, and every credible media outlet reported it.

They also reported that Mulvaney issued a “clarification” a few hours later, stating that what he said didn’t mean what it meant. Hey, no collusion, no obstruction, and no quid pro quo.

No corruption, either, suckers. Trump’s Miami Doral golf resort just happens to be the best possible place to host next year’s G7 conference.

@Greg: Wrong, its a script. Not accurate or fact based, just a script.
The herd reporting for 3 years Russian collusion, a bad script written by mockingbird government sources. The Mueller investigation proved it was a big fat lie, but hang in there Greggie some day they might be right, dont hold your breath.

Hey that Russian spy Mifsud gave his blackberrys back to the DOJ, funny thing for a Russian spy to do huh.
Wonder if they will be as interesting as Lisa and Peter’s text messages.

Television journalists these days sound so similar to Democrats on impeachment that it’s nearly impossible to tell them apart.

That’s because there is no difference. The liberal media is nothing but the propaganda arm of the Democrat party.

@Wellnoif: Why don’t you provide the evidence of where the President has broken any law or deviated from the Constitution, you cowardly little chicken$hit punk. Cute trick you did with the lady’s name; true sign of a pole-smoking liberal.

@kitt:

Obstruction of justice, they are not in anyway seeking justice, they want revenge, revenge for rejecting the NWO agenda.

More than that, they realize that with the really, really weak array of idiots they offer for candidates (hoping against hope the horse-mouth Michelle “I was never proud of this country” Oblameveryone will run) they don’t have an snowball’s chance in hell to defeat Trump.

@Greg:

The simplest explanation is that they’re all reporting the same issues and the same facts having to do with the same reality.

That might be a reasonable explanation if they were reporting facts. They aren’t, but somehow they all manage to vomit out the same lies, verbatim. Now, that is quite the coincidence, if it were a coincidence. But it isn’t; it’s collusion. It’s propaganda.

Well, waddayaknow… a “for instance”. No, what Mulvaney said was the aid was contingent on getting information on the interference in the 2016 election. Remember when you cared about that? Back before it was discovered the DEMOCRATS were who was working with Russians, Italians, Britons and Ukrainians to help Hillary? Biden wasn’t mentioned.

He not only admitted it but defended it, suggesting it was no big deal, and every credible media outlet reported it.

According to how the Democrats accepted Biden, Menendez, Durbin and Delaney taking the same action but for personal dirt on Trump, his associates or protecting their corrupt children, I don’t think it would be… would it?

@Dipshitable You:

Why don’t you provide the evidence of where the President has broken any law or deviated from the Constitution, you cowardly little chicken$hit punk.

Ouchie! Triggered!

It’s happening right out in the open now, and you don’t care.

Hosting next year’s G7 at Trump Doral is in direct violation of the Constitution; having the Air Force lay over at his Scottish resort is also in direct violation of the Constitution. I linked to the explanation up above.

Cute trick you did with the lady’s name; true sign of a pole-smoking liberal.

You guys do that here to Lefties all the time, and I’ve seen you explain it away. Trump does it, and you explain it away. You say that he’s “just describing” his political adversaries. Okay. That’s what I’m doing, too. I guess you and Trump and Kuntt and Retard05 and I are all just pole-smoking liberals together. Embrace it.

@Deplorable Me: We know who this is, best to not feed the under 13 year old mindset. It will never mature beyond that.
You can see by the replys he has nothing to add to an adult conversation.
Wondering how long before Curt boots this persona. I know he cant monitor 24/7.
It is mildly amusing he thinks you are triggered, what a little narcissist.

@Greg:

The simplest explanation is that they’re all reporting the same issues and the same facts having to do with the same reality.

Oh, my, my, my, Comrade Greggie Goebbels; how dimwitted you are. Too bad you don’t understand why all the left wingers that you love so much (the discredited CNN, et al) seem to say all the same thing. Too bad you don’t understand that they are getting their talking points from a daily email, sent out early every A.M., by Media Matters, a George Soros funded endeavor. Remember the day where the term “existential threat” was the key talking point for all the parrots at your favorite news outlets? How about the day that each and every one of them used the term “Constitutional crisis?”

I could go on and on and on, but unfortunately, your brain is incapable of absorbing anything other than left wing lies.

You remain an idiot.

@kuntt:

You can see by the replys he has nothing to add to an adult conversation.

Here’s my contribution, once again, since you seemed to miss it the first time:

Hosting next year’s G7 at Trump Doral is in direct violation of the Constitution; having the Air Force lay over at his Scottish resort is also in direct violation of the Constitution. I linked to the explanation up above.

@retire05, #10:

Too bad you don’t understand that they are getting their talking points from a daily email, sent out early every A.M., by Media Matters, a George Soros funded endeavor.

You’re projecting again. But then, when aren’t you?

From The Hill, October 11, 2019 – White House accidentally sends Ukraine talking points to Democrats again

The White House accidentally sent Democrats a list of talking points related to ex-Ukraine Ambassador Marie Yovanovitch’s Friday House deposition, two sources with knowledge of the email told The Hill, the second time in a month the administration has sent its Ukraine talking points to Democrats.

The email included guidance for Republicans seeking to defend the president from potentially damaging witness testimony from an ambassador who was removed from her post in May under controversial circumstances.

In copies of the guidance shared with The Hill, the White House encouraged Republicans to adopt a series of messages designed to turn the tables back on Democrats, including attacks on House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff’s (D-Calif.) handling of the investigation.

Apparently Mick Mulvaney somehow missed his Daily Download this morning.

I could go on and on and on…

Who hasn’t already noticed?

@Greg:

White House accidentally sends Ukraine talking points to Democrats again

Does that sound like an “accident” to you?
Talking points or briefs? Like news feeds sent to my email daily.
What better way to push certain buttons?

@Greg: Here. This should ease your concerns.

White House Fires Back After It Says ‘Media Twisted’ Words To Claim Quid Pro Quo With Ukraine

Always remember, the DEMOCRATS committed the collusion to interfere in the 2016 election with foreign governments and try to help Hillary, not Republicans.

@Ouchietriggered:

Hosting next year’s G7 at Trump Doral is in direct violation of the Constitution; having the Air Force lay over at his Scottish resort is also in direct violation of the Constitution. I linked to the explanation up above.

OK, so you are merely a stupid, lying, useful idiot moron. Nothing to see here.

@retire05: Greg will be avoiding those Project Veritas videos of CNN personnel showing how fair and balanced they truly are. Liberals avoid the truth so they can truly plead ignorance when confronted with the facts.

@kitt: Until Curt flushes that turd, it shall be ignored.

@Dipshitable You:

OK, so you are merely a stupid, lying, useful idiot moron. Nothing to see here.

The president has now awarded himself a multi-million-dollar government contract to host next year’s G7 summit. How on Earth is that anything but plain, old-fashioned corruption?

: Until Curt flushes that turd, it shall be ignored.

That’s easier than the mental gymnastics that would be needed to justify the president’s corruption, I guess.

Obvious that this article triggered the trolls…because it’s true…and they were sent to argue the usual non-arguments to derail the point of the conversation.

Many of the most powerful and far-reaching media outlets are merely propaganda arms of the Democratic party, and through their misinformation and directing of public opinion, they continue to secure votes for the Democratic Party by way of fearmongering and outright lies.

It’s a fact. None of the childish tantrums above do any thing to disprove or even refute it. They merely try to say it’s justified…because…Trump….

@Nathan Blue: What it does, beyond any doubt, prove is that there are no credible reasons for impeachment. They may be too stupid to know what they promote as impeachable is false and disproven but it is clear there is NOTHING to impeach for.

@Deplorable Me: It stems from the core relativism with most Leftist ideals:

Race
Gender
Atheism

If the universe isn’t “that not this,” then facts have to follow the same rules: they are whatever you need them to be.

This conduct from the Left isn’t surprising. It’s an mindset developed by fundamental ideologies.

The Left is now the wack job “fundamentalists” they think they are fighting.

@Nathan Blue: How are ya?
Couple of thoughts—Donald Trump views empathy as a weakness.–very possible the large majority of his base –pretty constant around 40%—see it the same way

His base see his huge ego as a positive.

It remains a majority of Americans don’t agree with those two beliefs

Did you see where he called Mad Dog “The world’s most over rated General?.”

No doubt Dems got work cut out to choose a candidate to beat him—-I think they will—–he will NEVER win the popular vote—he’s historically unpopular–they must strategically target E.C as Clinton–terrible candidate–failed to do

@Richard Wheeler: How about record high support among blacks and Hispanics? What Presidential candidate ever did not have a huge ego? If they didn’t, they wouldn’t have run for President.

@Richard Wheeler: 1 thought what does DTs personality have to do with the subject of the above article?
See the last part of Nathans #16 post.
He still fills stadiums without a guitar.

@Deplorable Me: @kitt: Eree
Bill—Doubtful on Blacks and Hispanics—-no indication his overall support any better than 46% he got in 2016
Trump is plainly unpopular—Dems gotta find someone who is less so—may not be easy lol

@Richard Wheeler: You can doubt it all you want. In fact, I hope all Democrats doubt and forget it.

Trump is popular. He is also honest, as proven by no less than three investigations that could find NOTHING to use against him.

Now, about that question I had about Gabbard; is she just being a crybaby in complaining about CNN and the NYT or does the media really target people they don’t like and lie about them? Hillary has also referred to her as a Russian asset and a Trump stooge (!). What the hell is wrong with your party?

@Deplorable Me: Gabbard refuses to get into the Democrat clown car that only turns left. She just doesnt want to be groped and sniffed by the leader of the polls.
I heard a real goof last night on the radio that called Trump a member of the Russian Mafia, they are quite delusional.
They wont back Gabbard cause they have cant blackmail her, unless they pull a spygate and create something out of thin air.
Again the most corrupt leads the pack.

@kitt: She’s just not reliably left. She’s been in the military, so she has some discipline.

@Deplorable Me: You wanna post where HRC said that—as in didn’t happen—-Major Gabbard disciplined–yes—ol bone spurs could use a little. of that–gets ruffled too easily
DT popular with his rabid base—40% may garner another 4-7% depending on who Dems run.

Dems got another lady that could bear DT—Amy Klobuchar

@kitt: This presumes 3rd Party run by Gabbard—never happen -she’ll back, and campaign for, Dem Party nom
She thinks Trump dangerous and a narcissistic fool.
HRC Should disappear

Would love to see “world’s most over rated General” get in against Trump.

@Deplorable Me, #14:

Always remember, the DEMOCRATS committed the collusion to interfere in the 2016 election with foreign governments and try to help Hillary, not Republicans.

Right. Up is down, the sky is green, the grass is blue, and Trump is an honorable and honest man.

Apologies—-just saw HRC comments and Tulsi’s powerful response
It’s on—love it—give her hell Tulsi

@Richard Wheeler: You need not appologize we dont expect your media to be truthful, just repeat insanities.

@kitt: This is on Hillary-comments she actually made -on the whole I think the media does a fine job —-I believe in the 4th estate and freedom of the press

Tulsi will be on Tucker tonight.

What cease fire–er “pause”??

@Richard Wheeler:

gets ruffled too easily

Really. I guess you regard being endlessly investigated for false allegations, being called a racist and traitor and an impeachment theater based entirely on lies is no reason to get testy? The question is, why can’t Pelosi take it?

Hillary started the rumor. Question is, why are they trying so hard to destroy Gabbard? She is no threat at all. Maybe because she dared to face off with Kamala.

So, is Gabbard a whiny crybaby that can’t handle media scrutiny or does the media work with Democrats to target and destroy who they demand? You going to face up to that one?

If Gabbard doesn’t sit down and shut up like she is told, she might suddenly commit suicide.

@Greg: No, Democrats are liars. Democrats are traitors.

This story appeared back in February, 2019: Russia’s propaganda machine discovers 2020 Democratic candidate Tulsi Gabbard

Experts who track websites and social media linked to Russia have seen stirrings of a possible campaign of support for Hawaii Democrat Tulsi Gabbard.

The Russian propaganda machine that tried to influence the 2016 U.S. election is now promoting the presidential aspirations of a controversial Hawaii Democrat who earlier this month declared her intention to run for president in 2020.

An NBC News analysis of the main English-language news sites employed by Russia in its 2016 election meddling shows Rep. Tulsi Gabbard of Hawaii, who is set to make her formal announcement Saturday, has become a favorite of the sites Moscow used when it interfered in 2016.

Several experts who track websites and social media linked to the Kremlin have also seen what they believe may be the first stirrings of an upcoming Russian campaign of support for Gabbard.

Since Gabbard announced her intention to run on Jan. 11, there have been at least 20 Gabbard stories on three major Moscow-based English-language websites affiliated with or supportive of the Russian government: RT, the Russian-owned TV outlet; Sputnik News, a radio outlet; and Russia Insider, a blog that experts say closely follows the Kremlin line. The CIA has called RT and Sputnik part of “Russia’s state-run propaganda machine.”

All three sites celebrated Gabbard’s announcement, defended her positions on Russia and her 2017 meeting with Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad, and attacked those who have suggested she is a pawn for Moscow. The coverage devoted to Gabbard, both in news and commentary, exceeds that afforded to any of the declared or rumored Democratic candidates despite Gabbard’s lack of voter recognition.

Gabbard was mentioned on the three sites about twice as often as two of the best known Democratic possibilities for 2020, Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders, each with 10 stories. Kamala Harris and Elizabeth Warren had fewer. In each case, the other contenders were treated more critically than Gabbard, with headlines like “‘Don’t Run’: Vermont Paper Begs Bernie Sanders Not to Seek US Presidency in 2020” and “Sexist much? Biden blames ‘conservative blonde woman’ for shutdown, ‘forgets’ Ann Coulter’s name.”

“Her promulgation of positions compatible with Russian geo strategic interests can help them mainstream such discussion in the [Democratic] party,” said Alex Stamos, former chief security officer at Facebook and now an NBC News analyst. Gabbard, said Stamos, helps them with all their “lines of attack.”

A major in the Hawaii Army National Guard who served two tours in Iraq, Gabbard was first elected to Congress in 2012 and represents the out islands and northern Oahu. She attracted attention as a maverick when she resigned as Democratic National Committee vice chair in early 2016 and endorsed Bernie Sanders. She gave his nominating speech at that summer’s party convention.

While some of her stances appeal to the left, she has also angered the party’s liberal base with her past positions on same sex marriage, abortion and guns. Just weeks after Donald Trump’s upset victory over Hillary Clinton, she met with the president-elect at Trump Tower.

But Gabbard’s most controversial position and the one where she’s most in line with Russian interests is on Syria. She’s accused the U.S. of pushing a policy of “regime change” wars and in January 2017, she met with Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad in Syria on what she called a “fact-finding mission.”

RT began defending Gabbard as soon as she announced. A behavioral science expert who studies social media tweeted out a vow on Jan. 11 to start a GoFundMe campaign to finance a reporting trip to Gabbard’s Hawaii district. Reporters for RT’s television network pounced, calling it “an investigative vacation” and a “beachside investigation” by an “establishment Democrat.”

On Jan. 12, the day after Gabbard announced, RT headlined her decision this way: “‘Putin puppet’ vs ‘Assad shill’: Dems & Reps unite in panic over Gabbard challenging Trump in 2020.”

The unsigned article claimed, “With Representative Tulsi Gabbard (D-Hawaii) entering the 2020 presidential fray, establishment figures on both Right and Left are scrambling to smear the anti-war congresswoman with impeccable identity-politics bona fides. Ever since her 2017 visit to Syria, Gabbard has been condemned for daring to seek firsthand accounts rather than blindly trusting the MSM narrative, so on Friday the pundits were again off to the races, with fresh accusations of Assad-sympathizing.”

On Jan. 16, Lee Stranahan, one of the co-hosts on “Fault Line,” a Washington-based program on Sputnik News, admitted that the debates should be the focus for Gabbard.

“The significant thing about her being in the race is because one of her main issues is peace and specifically on Syria, where she is telling the truth on Syria,” said Stranahan, who joined Sputnik after stints at Breitbart News, the right-wing news site. “I think she is going to change the debate. If she can get through the first few months, and make it to actual debates, is there a big millionaire or billionaire that will support Tulsi Gabbard.”

The same day, conservative writer Hunter Derensis noted on Russia Insider, “In line with her thinking on Syria, she lacks the anti-Russian stance of other Democratic politicians. ‘How does going to war with Russia over Syria serve the interest of the American people?’ she mentioned in a tweet. Gabbard has also supported Trump’s diplomatic summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un in one of her multiple appearances with Tucker Carlson.”

That story was headlined, “Heroic Tulsi Gabbard Will Run on Her Sensible Foreign Policy. Expect Democrats, Faux Progressives to Squeal.”

In articles on the Russian sites, Gabbard is described as a “rebel,” who is “straight-talking” and a “heroic” candidate who will “shake up” the establishment.

Coverage of other Democratic presidential hopefuls in pro-Kremlin media has been for the most part perfunctory, limited to candidates’ announcements or summaries of their relative prospects. In recent weeks, Sputnik has poked fun at Elizabeth Warren’s beer commercial and a widely circulated photo of Beto O’Rourke’s in a dentist chair.

Erika Tsuji, a spokeswoman for Gabbard, said it as “ridiculous” to suggest the Russians supported her candidacy.

It isn’t at all ridiculous. The Russians will clandestinely support anyone who can be used to split a unified opposition to the person they hope to see relected—that person being Donald Trump. You become an asset simply by being a piece they can somehow use in the game to further that objective. It doesn’t mean you’re pro-Russian.

Even Clinton’s observation will be used in an effort to divide Trump’s opposition.

@Greg: LOL you watch too much television, NBC describes her as controversial. Lets see who else visited Syria.
Who else isnt for regime change of every leader in the ME that is not a CIA puppet.
Clinton indulging in twisted insane fantasies, so NYT and CNN just run with it.
The media is foul, as foul as Clintons odor.

Just watched Tulsi on Tucker—damn she’s good—-proud to be an American. a Vet and a Dem.–Believe she will be our first female Prez no later than 2028–
Only other possibility is Klobuchar 2020

@Greg: Democrats use Russians as an excuse for everything we’ve seen it is THEY who allied themselves with Russia, Britain, Italy and Ukraine to help Hillary.

@Richard Wheeler: Where are the democrats coming to her defense? Seems the only ones allowing her to defend herself are right leaning. Wassupwiddat?

@kitt: They don’t want to die, either.

How obvious does the corruption have to get before Trump supporters acknowledge it exists?

October 18, 2019 – The Pro-Trump Super PAC at the Center of the Ukraine Scandal Has Faced Multiple Campaign Finance Complaints

Randy Perkins donated $500,000 to America First Action, a pro-Trump super PAC, a day after his company won federal money as part of a contract. The same PAC was dubbed “Committee 1” in a federal indictment alleging illegal donations from two Rudy Giuliani associates.

Last year, a Department of Defense contractor quietly donated half a million dollars to a group supporting President Donald Trump’s reelection.

Once a watchdog organization noticed it, the contribution raised an alarm. Federal contractors are not allowed to donate to political entities. And groups are required by law to examine all donations for potential legal issues. If they discover that a contractor has made a contribution, the money has to be returned.

The other unusual aspect of the donation was the man behind it. Randy Perkins, the founder of DOD contractor AshBritt Environmental, had no history of six-figure contributions to federal political groups, although he has been a regular donor to Republicans for the past 15 years. He ran unsuccessfully for Congress as a Democrat in 2016.

The watchdog group pointed out that the money came in a day after AshBritt won a supplemental contract award worth $460,000 from the DOD for wildfire cleanup, bringing its contract total to about $1.7 million.

Asked about the donation, Perkins said he had meant to make a personal donation to express his support for specific Trump policies: “I actually think this administration cares deeply about children and mental health issues.” He said the contract extension had nothing to do with the contribution.

America First Action, the Trump super PAC that accepted the donation, adjusted its report on the source of the funds only after the watchdog group, the Campaign Legal Center, filed a complaint with the Federal Election Commission. Since America First’s creation in 2017, it has refunded just a fraction of 1% of all the funds it has raised.

If you’ve been hearing about America First recently, it’s likely because two associates of presidential lawyer Rudy Giuliani were arrested on allegations that they illegally funneled money to the group.

But that case is not the only problem that has ensnared the PAC as its role in backing Republican candidates has grown.

In another instance, the American subsidiary of a Canadian company made three donations totaling $1.75 million to America First in 2018. In another complaint, the Campaign Legal Center questioned the source of the donation and alleged that Wheatland Tube LLC may have violated laws against foreign nationals contributing to federal campaigns. The company declined to comment on the matter.

Last year, Common Cause, the political reform group, asked the FEC to determine whether the Trump campaign had illegally coordinated with America First and America First Policies, a related group that can raise money without disclosing its donors. The complaint alleged that the president and his campaign were improperly soliciting contributions for the two entities.

The FEC has not acted on any of these complaints to date, and it currently lacks a quorum to vote on enforcement actions proposed by its staff.

“The number of complaints is pretty remarkable,” said Ann Ravel, a Democrat who served as chair of the FEC in 2015.

America First communications director Kelly Sadler told ProPublica that the group takes its obligations seriously and goes to great lengths to comply with the law.

The PAC has denied any wrongdoing in the criminal case against the Giuliani associates. Sadler said the contribution at the heart of the indictment has been placed in a segregated account and will remain there “until these matters are resolved and a court determines the proper disposition of the funds.”

As a super PAC, America First can take unlimited donations from corporations and individuals. In return, it is not supposed to coordinate with campaigns, which are restricted in the amount of donations they may accept.

America First has raised more money to support Trump’s reelection than any super PAC. It is currently chaired by Linda McMahon, and it has raised nearly $50 million over the last two years, including about $9 million in this election cycle to reelect Trump.

Its affiliated nonprofit group, America First Policies, was co-founded by Brad Parscale, now the president’s campaign manager.

McMahon, a former professional wrestling executive, until March was a member of the president’s cabinet, overseeing the Small Business Administration. She also donated $1 million to the PAC, whose public filings show 19 donations of at least $1 million.

The PAC’s top donors include casino magnate Sheldon Adelson and Geoffrey Palmer, a billionaire California developer. Richard and Elizabeth Uihlein, who run a shipping supplies company, donated half a million dollars each.

In the 2018 election, America First spent more than $29 million supporting Republican candidates in House and Senate races. Former Texas Rep. Pete Sessions, a powerful GOP leader, received heavy backing from the PAC — $3 million toward a contest he would go on to lose.

The $500,000 donation attributed to AshBritt was among a flood of big donations coming into the PAC in the spring of 2018. The company, based in Deerfield Beach, Florida, does disaster cleanup work.

The Campaign Legal Center’s complaint got little attention. Under FEC rules, a committee has 30 days to confirm the legality of a questionable donation or to refund it; nearly three months passed before the PAC amended its filing to show the donation as being made directly by Perkins.

Perkins said he tried to rectify the matter by providing “all paperwork to the FEC” and resubmitting forms to America First stating that the funds were in fact drawn from a corporate account that would later be taxed as personal income.

“When I wrote the check, I cleared it with America First,” Perkins told ProPublica.

Perkins acknowledges that the optics of his America First donation are less than ideal.

“The facts might be a problem,” he said. “But they are facts.”

A few weeks after Perkins’ donation, the PAC received $325,000 from Global Energy Producers, the Florida energy company that is now at the center of a presidential impeachment inquiry. The PAC was referred to as “Committee 1” in the federal indictment of Lev Parnas and Igor Fruman.

The two men, according to the indictment, were key characters in a coercion campaign to recall the United States ambassador to Ukraine, Marie L. Yovanovitch, which they believed would pave the way for an investigation into Trump’s Democratic rival, former Vice President Joe Biden, and his son Hunter.

The indictment also alleges that Fruman and Parnas promised to fundraise for Sessions. Around the same time, Sessions wrote to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo urging Yovanovitch’s ouster.

Sessions, who is now running for Congress in a new district, did not respond to messages from ProPublica. In a statement issued on his behalf, he acknowledged meeting with the two Florida businessmen several times but said he took no action on their behalf.

Sessions denied that his letter to Pompeo was directly related to the meetings. He said he will donate the contributions Parnas and Fruman gave to his campaign to Texas charities.

@Greg: The left has lied so much, it has to be proven. How much corruption do you have to see Democrats commit before you accept it?

@Deplorable Me: Smelly is nothing but dust now time to sweep the stench under the carpet. Every right leaning propaganda show is calling BS on Clintons slander. Tulsi is getting millions in free election coverage hahahahahaha keep an eye on her now. She will be where she should be in the top 3. Lets see if Stinky can slither in at the last minute before the primaries and take the crown.

@kitt: Hillary still calls the shots in the DNC apparently. Poor little Democrats.

@Deplorable Me: HRC is a loser with ZERO power–one of few pols less popular 31% than Trump 40%

Repubs are starting to break on DT and call for his impeachment—believe we’ll see quite a few more in the next 3 months.

KITT Doubt Tulsi can get to top 3 but she won’t be ignored. Expect Biden to win Iowa Warren N’H—Klobachar could break through—–Tulsi top 5 hopefully–enough to stay in

@Richard Wheeler: You sell her so short? Look at the pathetic herd she runs against, Normal people that are traditionally democrat are looking for a normal person to vote for, I guess thats why the DNC is trying to tank her. The new democrat party seems to be criminals, commies, freaks and those they convinced are helpless victims.

@Deplorable Me, #41:

An illegal $500,000 campaign contribution, paid the day after the company making it received a contract extension directing an extra $460,000 of taxpayer dollars into their pockets…

The Federal Election Commission is currently down to three of its six seats, and is legally required to have a minimum of four to be functional. It’s up to Trump—the crook who is benefiting from illegal campaign contributions like the $500,000 mentioned above—to nominate replacements. I’m guessing that won’t be happening any time soon.

The Trump administration is obviously rotten to the core. You need a wall chart to keep track of all of the abuses, scams, and scandals. What should anyone expect? They’re liars, cheats, thieves, and top-level parasites, who have set about methodically corrupting the entire system to line their own damn pockets. The more Trump gets away with, the more blatant he becomes about it. He won’t stop on his own. He’ll have to be stopped, either by impeachment or by voters who have finally had enough. If he can avoid that by neutralizing the power of Congress to remove him, by corrupting the justice system, or by corrupting the election process, he will do so.

@Greg: Damn Greg tell us what you really think’
I believe the Republican dam in Congress will break–slowly at first then pick up momentum as their constituents let them know–enough is enough of DT

Meanwhile Dems must find and field a strong alternative with a positive message—–preferably a woman who can steal Repub female support.

It’s definitely doable—Repubs, as evidenced here at FA,are as over confident as Dems were in 2016. .

@Greg: “A number of Hillary Clinton’s top lobbyist bundlers, who have raised millions for her presidential campaign, either directly represent foreign entities or work at firms that represent foreign entities, according to documents from the Justice Department’s Foreign Agents Registration Unit.” [via Washington Free Beacon]
With radical Islam being America’s biggest enemy, it is shocking that Tony Podesta took three separate donations adding up to over $1.4 million from a middle man that represents the Republic of Turkey.
Hillary had received over $7 million in foreign donations during the second quarter of 2016, from April 1 to June 30.
Podestas had some highly interesting Russian connections Tony Podesta was in thick with them too. Podesta was registered to lobby on behalf of Sberbank CIB USA Inc., a subsidiary of Russia’s largest bank, which is majority-owned by the Russian government.
The amount of money Podesta had raised from Sberbank is undisclosed, but the mere fact that he is employed by this Russian Bank, owned by the Russian government, shows exactly how they have access and potential influence over Hillary.
There was more much much more, we havent even mentioned donations to her phoney charity from foreigners, and she says to Trump not to tempt her into joining the race. She accusers other democrat women of being Russian operatives, nasty nasty old poot.
The system was corrupted long before Trump, he cant fix everything they broke all by himself.

John Kasich announced Friday that he now supports Trump’s impeachment. It would be interesting to see who would seek the republican nomination if Trump seemed to be losing his grip—on the party, I mean.

@Greg: So a company paid $500,000 to get $460,00? And you BELIEVE this crap? You are DESPERATE for that silver bullet to use against Trump and, you must one day accept, it simply ain’t going to appear.

Meanwhile, Quid pro quo Joe received $900,000 for lobbying for the company he extorted Ukraine to stop an investigation into to protect his coke-head, whore-mongering son… nothing to see here, right? The Clinton Foundation takes in $1.5 million from Russia as she supports selling our uranium to a company she KNEW was controlled by Russians… nothing to see here, either. Just Hill being Hill. Hillary and Podesta start a war in Libya to generate business opportunities for themselves… nothing to see here, business as usual.

Yet you cling to every accusation you can dig up from every partisan propaganda outlet you can find. Yeah, I think we’ve been told the sky is falling quite enough by lying, biased, prejudiced, sore loser, crybaby Democrats. Nothing but desperate lies.

The Trump administration is obviously rotten to the core.

SO rotten that even though Obama conducted illegal surveillance on Trump, his campaign and his associates, the FBI planted spies in his campaign and conducted a “counter intelligence investigation”, the Senate conducted an investigation and, of course, Mueller’s two year, $35 million witch hunt, you cannot find a single crime committed by Trump or his campaign. If only EVERY administration was this “rotten”. Look how little investigation it takes to uncover Obama, Hillary, Comey, McCabe, Brennan, DNC and Biden corruption?

@kitt: Well, Democrat corruption is just like a dog barking… it’s what they do, so it is neither a crime nor anything to object to. Look how Rich simply accepts as business as usual when the liberal media big guns take orders from Hillary to smear his favored candidate; they know there’s nothing they can do about their own corruption and lies so they just accept it and the results. Can’t object to socialist police state tactics or you might get some of it yourself.
