No, New York Times writer Ian Prasad Philbrick did not call Georgia U.S. Senate candidate Herschel Walker, as I was called by a Los Angeles Times writer, “the black face of white supremacy” – but Philbrick came close.
Philbrick wrote: “For a lot of African Americans, Walker puts on display a lot of the worst stereotypes that white conservatives in the South harbor toward them: that his talents are only in athletics, and that he is, in his own telling, ‘not that smart.’ If a candidate as controversial as Walker wins, the takeaway will be that if you have enough star power, speak the language of the party’s base and have Trump’s backing, you too can be in the Senate.
“I was with Walker about three weeks ago in a heavily conservative, heavily white northern Georgia county. When I follow Walker to those kinds of events, we’re really the only two African Americans there. A white man walked up to me and was like, ‘Where are all the black people?’ He seemed to understand that Walker was a black candidate who was not garnering much black support in a state where you actually need at least a little bit to win. I’ve even talked to black conservatives who are shaking their heads in disappointment. Though not on the record, of course.”
Let’s start with “we’re really the only two African Americans there.” I know nothing about Philbrick’s racial background, but from his photo he looks about as “African American” as Mitt Romney. Philbrick attended Greeley High School in Cumberland, Maine, not exactly the ‘hood. The school student body is 92% white, 2% black. But Philbrick’s keeping it real at The New York Times.
Walker, you see, brings nothing to the table, other than “star power” and supporting former President Donald Trump. Things like likeability and relatability are completely irrelevant. Any old celebrity will do, right?
Why isn’t Philbrick depressed that blacks are denying themselves the opportunity to hear Walker’s central message: that children need fathers in the home? Maybe the white man who walked up to Philbrick “seemed to understand” that 70% of black kids are born to unmarried women and considers it tragic that blacks weren’t there to hear Walker’s message.
How many blacks are supposed to be at a Walker rally?
Should Walker kidnap them and force them to hear him speak? Is there some barrier preventing blacks from attending his rallies – a secret password, a fraternity handshake or an initiation fee? Apparently, blacks, who remain overwhelmingly Democrat, are not buying what Walker’s selling. Should he renounce the Republican Party and become a Democrat to attract more black faces?
Philbrick sniffs that Walker advances the “worst stereotypes that white conservatives in the South harbor.” All “white conservatives”? Not some bigoted white conservatives?
How is this any different than Kanye West, rightly accused of antisemitism, when he recently tweeted about his plan to “go DEFCON 3 on Jewish people”? Not just those with whom West may have had disagreements. No, all Jews.
Philbrick should listen to the secretly recorded tape of four non-Southern Latinos, all liberal Democrats, three of whom are members of the Los Angeles City Council. They compared a black child to a monkey, made racist comments about whites, disparaged Jews, called a gay man a “little b—” and even made a racist slur against Mexican immigrants.
So “white southern conservatives” do not have a monopoly on racism and bigotry.
Why, one can even find racism and bigotry at The New York Times.
Was a time when the Left could throttle any coverage of the racism of people of color.
Yes, blacks are sometimes racists, like when they KNOW looting and shoplifting is OK because these businesses call today, “Black Friday.”
Trying to tell them why it’s called black Friday falls on deaf ears because they don’t want to hear the truth.
Latinx racists caught on tape was barely enough to make the case to remove them from office.
The media is no longer under the control of just the Left.
And the Left can’t stand that fact.
And Martinez faced enough disapproval and pressure from the Left—including from Biden—that she resigned her council seat.
Michigan tells schools to hide ‘gay student clubs’ from parents…
michael withholds his efforts to groom children into trannys from parents
“michael withholds his efforts to groom children into trannys from parents”
Tell me more about that. What, specifically, do I do?
Pedophile teachers are notorious for hiding their sexual exploits of the children from patients
So what, specifically, have I done?
Are you denying this or seeking a sharing of evidence?
You’ve pushed LGBT as something positive, rather than the society-destroying force that it historically is.
You’ve shown a disdain for Christianity, and a willingness to marginalize the religion that our country is literally built on, not understanding the Atheist utopia you think will come will be the same old hell.
You’ve now piped up, with Cultist enthusiasm, for the depopulation of the world, hiding behind the “we don’t have to kill anyone” but not understanding that’s EXACTLY what will happen, is already happening.
Covid was released to kill millions.
ESG is meant to kill millions in famine.
Abortion is rationalized as not killing, but it is.
LGBT is eugenics, as well. Those who are stupid enough to adopt it don’t breed.
If you believe these things, you’re part of bringing them into our world.
A Lefty journalist wants a Democratic councilman to resign because of the Martinez thing. What point are you trying to make here? Are you contrasting that with the way that Right-leaning journalists refuse to hold Righty politicians to account for their misdeeds? Good point, Curt! Another self-own.
Such as? No, conservative journalists do not blindly leap on the conspiracy theory bandwagon along with leftist propagandists, but what “misdeeds” do they fail to report on?
Haha. All five of them?
The Media is compromised and represents a state-run Democrat Party propaganda ring.
Do you think that cured her racism? The only reason she resigned is, due to the left using racism as a weapon so often, she made her position untenable and could not face further scrutiny. Odd how whenever their inner thoughts are leaked, their true despicable nature always comes out.
Funny how the left is creating that stereotype of Walker, even as they declare it racist… yet they don’t believe they themselves are racist. People like Philbrick understand very little of America and American and that’s why they want to change America to a socialist totalitarian state; that’s what they think people (just like him) would like.
One thing about many athletic programs is that they emphasize character as a component in winning. Being a good winner, good loser, a good sport is taught in athletics (in most programs) as well as technique and fitness. When I was in school, we had to have good grades, dress appropriately, keep our hair short (in the age of hippies) and be respectful. Teamwork was the most important thing to learn. Athletics is the best character building curriculum, when used properly, a school can offer.
By any measure, Walker is a product of this sort of program. He pushes himself to excel and he seeks to serve others. Yeah, he’s made mistakes and done some bad things, but he owns up to them and has atoned. Warnock is your typical plastic preacher, enriching himself off of the tithes of his congregation, a racist, a misogynist, a deadbeat, a socialist and a liar. Walker may not be perfect, but he is far, far better than Warnock.
Of course the left has to utilize racism to try and tear Walker down; it’s their default position. Like political violence and fraud, they have come to depend upon it heavily.
