MARKETS DOWN IN EARLY TRADING – DOW Opens Below 30,000 – It’s a Disaster

Loading

By Joe Hoft

The DOW Jones Industrial Average (the DOW) opened today under 30,000 points as the Biden economy shows its colors.

The DOW opened this morning at less than 30,000 points. When Biden took over the markets were above 31,000 points.

The DOW is down more than 1,000 points since when Joe Biden took office!

The DOW is one measurement of the US markets that indicates the health of the economy.

President Trump broke the record for the most stock market highs in a year in 2017, the year he took over the Executive Branch. President Trump’s economy was on fire.

There were more stock market highs (71) in 2017, Trump’s first year as President, than any year in history.

Sadly, the Biden Administration is the complete opposite. After nearly 2 years in office, the DOW is down more than 1,000 points since the day Biden stepped into office after stealing the 2020 Election.

On January 20, 2021, the DOW closed at 31,188. Last night the DOW closed at 30,077. This morning the DOW opened at less than 30,000.

As of 10:30 am Eastern, the DOW stood at 29,630.

Americans are watching their 401k’s disappear due to the Biden economy because most 401k’s are connected to the stock markets in the US which are taking a royal beating now that Biden’s policies are being realized.

The DOW is currently down 5% since Biden took office. It is down 24% since the last market closing all-time high of 36,799 on January 4th of 2022.

The DOW is currently down more than 6,500 points this year alone (the DOW was at 36,338 on December 31, 2021).

If this decrease stands till year-end, this decrease will be the largest decrease of any year in US history.

The DOW will be at 25k long before it reaches 40k

Working Americans are working hard every day and getting poorer by the day.

Eighteen straight months of declining wages in the manufactured crisis of the biden economy

Idiot Biden is, simply, an unmitigated disaster. The nation can’t stand more of him. He MUST be removed from office, along with most of his mutant Cabinet.

BRING BACK TRUMP.

All those who voted for Biden should walk down the street wearing Stupid and I’m With Stupid T-Shirts

All those stupid progressives screaming for “$15 an hour!!!”
But get dems in the House, Senate and Presidency and they get their $15/hour.
BUT it is worth LESS that the value of what they were making before all those dems took over and ruined the economy!
What will they scream for next?
$100/hour?
$1,000/hour?
$1,000,000,000/hour?
When will they learn that inflation kills the value of money.

Congratulations! You just made a case for socialism.

Congratulations! You just made a case for socialism.

How so?

That’s one of those questions that Nathan hates so much. Let’s see whether he attacks you for it.

Um, you failed to expand on your comment when requested to do so.

That’s because the Groomer is full of crap. He just projects, like all liberals.

Um, you failed to expand on your comment when requested to do so.

It seems we’ve officially heard from the eleven-year-old girl demographic.

11? why not 10 or 12?

Having seen writing of girls from all three ages, I know that beginning a sentence with “um” is a favorite eleven-year-old trope.

Having seen writing of girls from all three ages, I know that beginning a sentence with “um” is a favorite eleven-year-old trope.

And you can back that up just as good as you can back up this statement to Nan:

You just made a case for socialism.

Right? So how long do we have to wait? Or do you find yourself in a corner that you can’t find your way out of? Or maybe you’re just another liberal liar.

When a person’s ability to acquire money is tied directly to the value of what they produce in any given hour, a lot of people are going to be unable to make ends meet. They’re putting in their forty hours a week, but capitalism has decided that they don’t get to pay the rent or get enough to eat or have healthcare.

If raising wages to allow workers to make a living leads to a spiral that contributes to the destruction of the economic system, the system itself—capitalism—is screwed.

Hmmm… yet the system of capitalism has lifted more people out of poverty, created more wealth, more innovation and defeated more totalitarians than any other system in human history.

But, you’re a “teacher”, so I guess we’d better just believe you instead of documented history.

Oh, and you still haven’t explained the case made for socialism, the scourge of mankind.

Oh, and you still haven’t explained the case made for socialism, the scourge of mankind.

I supplied my answer to the question three or four times in this thread. I gave in the comment you’re responding to.

Its your ignorant opinion not 1 country has ever been successful with Socialism or Communism they all need capitolism.

There are things capitalism does well. There are things at which it is atrociously awful.

Well I have more Socialist examples of awful, let use one in our lifetime and memory Venezeula. Began with a prosperous nation voting in a candidate that would give them free health care, now there is zero health care. They are all equal outside the government, equally destitute.

Somehow, though, there are many industrialized nations that are able to provide healthcare free at point of use to their citizens without making anyone destitute, let alone everyone.

Somehow, though, there are many industrialized nations that are able to provide healthcare free at point of use to their citizens without making anyone destitute, let alone everyone.

Every one of them is subsidized by the USA. The healthcare is far from free.

I can’t tell if you’re being serious. You sound like a bad Leftist meme from 10 or more years ago.

Socialism doesn’t work, and the myth of the “industrialized nations who offer free healthcare” is only alive in the minds of the dumb.

A parasitic, world-dominating Europe is not the example of socialism you think it is, whelp.

It did not end with free healthcare were you paying attention to the fall of that country at all?

Canada offers free health care. Canadians with the means come to the United States for health care because their “free” health care is unavailable most of the time and of poor quality.

If you want “free” health care here, why not explain to the public how much they will pay in taxes for “free” and cut out the lies that the “wealthy” will be taxed to pay for it all. Then, submit it to a referendum.

Good old free. Nothing beats it.

I’m currently paying $1500 per month for my health care, and that’s not counting copays and medication. And that’s only half the cost—my employer pays the other half. Are you suggesting that my taxes will go up more than $30,000 per year under Medicare for all? If not, zip your lip.

I am. Remember, you also pay for the healthcare of anyone on the planet that wants to come here.

On another note, how’s that miracle of Obamacare working out for you? If you can’t see the damage your beloved socialism has already done to our economy, then zip YOUR lip and shove it up your ass, peckerhead.

And you plagiarized that from who, Groomer? Perhaps a sycophant of Marcuse?

Go ahead and prove your allegation.

Should we start a GoFundMe drive to buy you a dictionary since you seemed to have failed English 101 and apparently don’t know the difference between a question and an allegation.

When a person’s ability to acquire money is tied directly to the value of what they produce in any given hour, a lot of people are going to be unable to make ends meet.

If that were our system, 80% of teachers in failing school districts would be sleeping on the sidewalk. Unfortunately, I have not seen any indication that ability to do a job counts in Loonafornia.

I appreciate your assistance in pointing out the valuable job that unions have done toward helping some people escape the problems faced by tens of millions of other workers.

“I appreciate your assistance in pointing out the sleazy job that unions have done toward helping some people escape the responsibility of doing their job faced by tens of millions of other workers.”

Fixed it for you. A prime example of the sell out of the union members is the president of the Teacher’s Union. She should be tarred and feathered.

Fixed it for you.

Per Silverstein:

And some kind of help is the kind of help

That helping’s all about

And some kind of help is the kind of help

We all can do without

apparently don’t know the difference between a question and an allegation.

Your comment plainly assumed that I committed plagiarism; the question part was simply asking where I found the passage you think I plagiarized:

And you plagiarized that from who, Groomer?

*from whom

Projecting again, Groomer?

You haven’t used the concept of “projection” correctly either time you’ve trotted it out today. I can’t tell which word you’re actually looking for, but it’s not that one.

Earlier I accused kitt of plagiarism, and I can back it up. Here’s kitt’s comment, and here’s where she stole that comment.

If you can do the same, please do so.

kitty is guilty of cut and paste…scream it, no one GsAF

I guess retire05 cares about plagiarism, or he wouldn’t be accusing me of it.

Curt at least is straightforward. He has no thoughts of his own, but he makes it clear whose ideas he’s using by linking the actual tweets in his comments.

(Side note to Nathan: those tweets to which Curt links in making his points? Those are sources.)

If YOU had thoughts of your own, you wouldn’t be nitpicking what someone else posts. You could use your time more efficiently by answering my question of what you consider “writing one’s own ticket “. Additionally, what are my “moral shortcomings”?

You don’t like the meritocracy system of work and value, yet it’s the best one mankind has found. I’m all for better if one comes along. It appears you prefer a system based on work in exchange for a living wage being the measure of a job, not by what the worker produces. Lets say you run a business and hire based on paying a living wage to your employee(s). First of all you’d rarely if ever hire someone with children as their “living wage” would be higher than those without children.. The typical small business doesn’t have sacks of money in the back room ready to dole out more every time an employee has another child. If everyone gets paid a “living wage” no matter the skill level or job it would put a major damper on self improvement and education. See Soviet Union pre-1990 for reference.
So if your employees do not produce enough value for the wage you pay, that living wage, you will lose money and be out of business. Which in the end means you will have no workers and no business. So instead of a living wage it’s no wage.

So, you place preconditions on answering questions but everyone else is expected to comply to your demands.

Yeah, I preface my address to you with “um” so your 11 year old mentality can grasp it.

You see, Mikey has learned to compensate his shortcomings with his employment skills by bringing his maturity level down to that of his students. Unable to discus a topic or add any worth to a discussion. Nan was correct starting wages at fast food is now topping 15 bucks an hour, a liberal demand, and as was predicted all other prices rose to meet the minimum wage. Hey 18 bucks an hour to be a maid at the hotel. No benefits are offered with these jobs but wages place them outside the affordable healthcare guidelines for subsidies. Was there a plan for that?
Trudeau says just accept suicide you cant be poor and happy.

Once again the case against capitalism is made clear.

Hey 18 bucks an hour to be a maid at the hotel. No benefits are offered with these jobs but wages place them outside the affordable healthcare guidelines for subsidies.

You admit right there to counting on government to step in and clean up the mess created by the system, yet in your telling it’s the workers wanting to make enough money to live that’s the problem, not the system itself.

The cost to see a doctor before the government stepped in.
My dad had skin cancer for the skin acid in office it was 35 bucks, after it was 1500.
The government cleans up nothing you dolt.

The government cleans up nothing you dolt.

Yet you bemoan the fact that the hotel workers are making too much money to qualify for government-subsidized medical care.

My dad had skin cancer for the skin acid in office it was 35 bucks, after it was 1500.

What is “cancer for the skin acid in office”?

They’re putting in their forty hours a week, but capitalism has decided that they don’t get to pay the rent or get enough to eat or have healthcare.

You don’t actually understand how capitalism works, do you?

I understand how it works just fine. I also understand that linking someone’s ability to live his or her life to how much value is produced in an hour of work is a shitty system.

No, I don’t think so. In our system, you can get an education, work hard and make a great living. Now, if you want to f**k around in school, get passed through because teachers want you gone and then expect to get a job pushing a broom or flipping hamburgers that will pay for a home, a car, a family and a retirement, you’ll be left behind; you’ll get just enough to stave off death while others succeed.

How often does capitalism collapse and the government has to begin killing the citizens to protect their own cushy way of life?

his shortcomings with his employment skills

My employment skills are serving me just fine. Chances are I’m making more money than you ever did at whatever dead-end job you had—assuming you had any work-related skills at all.

Silly man silly silly lib the cost of living in your area drives your wages.
I made enough to retire at 50. House paid for and a little property in the north woods.
If the shit hits the fan I have 2 tribes to choose from, you are going to be one of the 90% dead in a year.
Grands were at the gun range this week with their dad, My little prince has quite the nice tight pattern.

We’ve all heard you go on about your lascivious desire for your grandson. Spare us.

Bwahahahaha I knew the thought of kids learning valuable survival skills would explode your liberal head
Thanks for taking the bait…Moron.

Better a moron than the incestuous pedophile you are.

Projecting again Mikey, yes I think you voted for the President that fully represents you.

Oh, the only desire I’ve read is for michael to indoctrinate the kids into being dead-end LGBT creeps, like him.

My employment skills are serving me just fine.

Well, it takes little skill to peddle leftist ideology. All it takes is the ability to lie and ignore facts.

What I do is better than practicing usury.

Is it? Is it, really?

The fact that you ask the question is testament enough to your moral shortcomings.

I placed no preconditions on answering.

everyone else is expected to comply to your demands.

I expect none of you to address my questions. I gave that up long ago, since you never do it.

Yeah, I preface my address to you with “um” so your 11 year old mentality can grasp it.

Ah, yes: the good old “I know you are, but what am I?”

How so?

When a person’s ability to acquire money is tied directly to the value of what they produce in any given hour, a lot of people are going to be unable to make ends meet. They’re putting in their forty hours a week, but capitalism has decided that they don’t get to pay the rent or get enough to eat or have healthcare.

Nan suggests that raising workers’ pay to meet the cost of living leads to a spiral that contributes to the destruction of the economic system. That suggests that the system itself—capitalism—is screwed.

When one’s pay rises faster than inflation, then you can get ahead.
People’s situations improve individually based on their relative value to their product produced.
That is the merit system.

In the merit system, if all you want to do is flip burgers, you reach the pinnacle of your wage limit after about a year.
If, otoh, you reach out to maximize your potential and become a valued worker in society instead of a cog, you can literally write your own ticket.

BUT when all pay is raised despite no increase in production, inflation is fed.
All prices have to go up to cover the higher costs of labor.
That is the communist system.

The communist system ends up, as the commies in the old USSR used to say, when they reach the point where the workers pretend to work and the gov’t pretends to pay them.
No incentive, no value to the money.

The problem with the merit system lies in the fact that many people don’t have the wherewithal to write their own ticket. They have low intelligence, or their teachers failed them, or they have mental issues, or whatever. Because of circumstances beyond their control, they’re sentenced to a long life of not being able to pay the rent or get health care.

I understand the theory in which you might say, “Oh, well. That’s the way it goes! Hope for a better shake in the afterlife, I guess,” but that attitude seems unnecessarily harsh in this day and age.

You make it sound like every one is on their own, with no support system of family.
In my family a child was born with both Down’s syndrome and a major heart defect.
He was helped by parents so as to have a healthy heart now.
He was nurtured by family and a hidden talent to repair computers was noticed.
He also has a talent for statistics, first noticed by his grandpa when they were watching baseball and keeping the box scores.
Now, an adult, he has a business creating catelogues for small and medium companies.
He keeps computers and phones up and running for the entire family.
He enjoys a rich life with his own family, too.

People give up and settle for less all the time.
People cut the ties that would have supported them in tough times all the time, too.
People choose self-medication over striving for better all the time.
Don’t blame the system.

michael doesn’t care about anyone’s rights. He cares about killing off those who might make him feel bad or question his life-choices.

These are the weak-of-character people tyrants have used throughout history to achieve their aims.

Michael is a slave.

You sound like you might be off your meds, Nathan.

What a compelling rebuttal.

Don’t quit your day job, son.

It’s not a comeback; it’s a simple observation. You’re dangerously paranoid.

You’re dangerously paranoid.

You’re simply dangerous, but we’ve got you and your nihilistic ideologies safely under control.

They have low intelligence, or their teachers failed them, or they have mental issues, or whatever. Because of circumstances beyond their control, they’re sentenced to a long life of not being able to pay the rent or get health care.

Your childish view of life is going to get a lot of people killed, which is what you secretly want.

Luckily, we adults are here to stop, and educate, the motivated idiots like you.

Yours is a simple war against God. Not new, not intelligent, and something that’s already been defeated.

Hey, the good news is, michael, that they are finally coming after us Christians for the coming genocide. You’ll get to enjoy your godless hell without anyone making you question your world-view.

I’m sure you’re elated.

The problem with the merit system lies in the fact that many people don’t have the wherewithal to write their own ticket.

What do you mean by “write their own ticket”?

They have low intelligence, or their teachers failed them, or they have mental issues, or whatever.

I’d say that is absolutely wrong. Despite idiot Biden being “elected”, few are of “low intelligence”. Almost everyone can develop an expertise in some field. Every watch carpenters? Plumbers? Cement workers? Mechanics? A liberal elitist would determine THEM of low intelligence because they don’t know which glass is for brandy and which is for port yet our society and economy is far more dependent upon them than snooty opinionators.

Teaches didn’t USED to fail students; they used to have as their primary directive to TEACH, rather than indoctrinate. I can remember not knowing the politics of a single teacher I ever had (and that actually includes college, save for one that openly campaigned for a local Democrat in class). The declaration that discipline in schools is “racist” has contributed greatly to the downfall of the mission of the schools.

No one is guaranteed their meal ticket. But, in our system, one is supposed to be guaranteed “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness” (emphasis mine). The idea that people get relegated to failure because of the mean old system is a cop-out.

By empirical measure, we know the following:

Capitalism works, and has built modern civilization.

Socialism/Marxism/Communism DOESN’T work, and leads to genocide.

When a person’s ability to acquire money is tied directly to the value of what they produce in any given hour, a lot of people are going to be unable to make ends meet.

Funny how that term “ends meet” has no definition. Fat Americans who don’t have a big house or a nice car are suddenly “poor.”

No.

Gaming the system so billionaires can line their pockets while piling debt on everyone else isn’t “capitalism”. It’s THEFT.

Gaming the system so billionaires can line their pockets while piling debt on everyone else isn’t “capitalism”. It’s THEFT.

Yes. Everyone of those Billionaires is a Democrat, donating to Democrats, so they can pass laws that line their Democrat-owning pockets. Biden has gamed the system for Big Pharma, Medicare/Medicaid providers, and Big Tech.

That’s why I voted, and will vote for, Trump.

And I’d shut up, greg. Biden is putting extra debt on us all, to pay for a war he caused, to pay off idiot women’s bad college choices, to pay for new EVs that his son is invested in, replacing the current corrupt energy lobby with the Democrats own…etc.

Democrats ALWAYS pile on debt to the rest of us.

Idiot.

Last edited 1 year ago by Nathan Blue

You can’t be the one lining your pocket AND calling for Socialism at the same time.

That’s what you dumbfucks are doing. We’re not amused.

No, that’s the Democrat agenda. That’s “climate change” and “social engineering”

Greg thats the government not billionaires, the billionaires lobby the government (aka bribery) to have laws and regulations that eliminate competition.

When a person’s ability to acquire money is tied directly to the value of what they produce in any given hour, a lot of people are going to be unable to make ends meet.

This is LITERALLY how Western Civilization was built, and all other systems made for poorer and truly destitute citizens that are better described as peasants.

Not having what you want vs. not having enough to live are very different things, you fool.

Four years of Donald Trump = the greatest run up of the US national debt in modern history.

Nah. Obama ran up debt. Biden has too. Trump leveraged it, and gave us one of the best economies we’ve ever had.

Biden’s all out war against America isn’t open for debate. He’s destroyed and failed at every metric we have, debt and inflation included.

Trump did well. Biden is a disaster.

Three Years…only three = the greatest economy we’ve seen, lowest real black, latino, and overall unemployment, peace in the ME, Putin in his place, China giving us Billions (destroying the debt “myth” you slugs keep repeating, hoping it comes true), a secure border, and overall American prosperity.

One year of Democrat insolence = releasing covid, destroying our economy, killing off the old and the obese, rigging elections, and ending democracy.

The choice is clear. Trump…by a long shot.

Joe Biden.. Hold my beer.

Not true. First, let’s take COVID19 out of the equation. Then, idiot Biden’s two years have been the greatest spending spree and debt creation anyone has ever seen, and that even includes Obama’s $10 trillion contribution.

Now, let’s consider the impact of COVID. Due to the economic shut down, there was a need for relief. Due to Democrats keeping the economy shut down far, far longer than necessary, the need for relief was expanded. Then, the Democrat’s desire to dump lots and lots of money into the economy to make stealing some of it easier, Pelosi insisted on loading up billions in pork. Democrats also proposed more spending even before the previous spending was spent, the idea being that getting more money in circulation makes it more difficult to track where it goes.

It’s all very clear. Democrats went on an insane spending spree, all of which was unnecessary and practically untraceable. Not only was a lot of money spent, but much of it wasted and irretrievable. Democrats are the most corrupt and irresponsible excuses for representatives this nation has ever seen.

Democrats keeping the economy shut down far, far longer than necessary, the need for relief was expanded.

Turned out even fauci knew shutting everything down wouldn’t help with covid.
But, being a progressive, with blood already on his hands for helping create new viruses in China, fauci did what progressives do: he doubled down on his bad policy.
Anything to “slow the curve” of investigative reporters finding out the truth sooner.

Creating a dependent populace has long been a progressive plan as it creates more of their supporters.(The people pulling the wagon tend to vote conservative, the people IN the wagon tend to vote progressive.)
Remember obama’s billboards telling everyone they qualified for food stamps?

Look who defrauded the covid lockdown gov’t giveaways. They have been progressives, including 47 Somalies in Minn/StPaul.

Progressive “pork” is not really designed to feed people, get people out of poverty, of homelessness, of addiction, of mental illness. It is designed to hire many well paid progressives who join a union and get a gov’t check as possible …. for life.

This Is the Way the World Ends
Feel like we’re on the ragged edge of something new and awful? You are not alone….

That “singularity” so many blab about is not what they think it is: the merging of human intelligence with Bill Gates’s Office products, leading to an orgasmic nirvana of infinite memoranda from your HR department concerning new diversity, inclusion, and equity policy. Rather, I speak of the magic moment when the necromancers of finance discover that the proverbial can they’ve been kicking is filled with Schrodinger’s cat food… and the road they’ve been kicking it down actually comes to a dead end up their own highly-credentialed wazoos. Economics will never be the same hereafter.

The bond market has gone south, and that spells The End for the great game of financialization. The bond market is Moby Dick compared to the little blowfish that is the stock market. The global money system is based on bonds, which are… what? That’s right: loans… promises to pay you X at some future moment. So, what happens when a daisy-chain of promises-to-pay gets broken? Or, perhaps more precisely, when all those promises lose their last shred of plausible reality? Why, the money that these broken promises are denominated in loses its essential cred. Trick question: how much is worthless money worth? (Answer: not enough to pay for a can of Schrodinger’s cat food.)

Which is where all this folderol leaves a lot of ordinary people all over Western Civ (and beyond!) trying to scratch up enough increasingly worthless money to feed the family and pay the landlord. Many will never understand what happened. But they will not be any less pissed off at the result.

This is the way the world ends for the hapless phantom known as “Joe Biden” the child-sniffing ectoplasm that haunts the White House these days of late empire. Somehow, the bamboozled nation has so far passively accepted the pranks and punishments laid on them by the backstage managers behind the Figment-in-Chief. Eight-plus percent inflation? No problemo, right? Eighty-five thousand new IRS agents on-board to drive you batshit while destroying your household and your posterity (ha!)? Half the population of South America flooding across the border? (The vibrancy! You no like?) A hundred dollar fill-up at the gas pump, and no heat for you this winter? (But… Netflix!) Drag queens to amuse and edify your children about the delirious realm of sexual pathology. All that…and how about a Russian hypersonic nuclear missile up your ass if the preceding somehow failed to move you? (Because: Russia, Russia, Russia…!)

Meanwhile, a trend is manifesting in other lands. The people of, first, Sweden and now Italy are voting in “right wing” nationalist governments — the horror — sending their equivalent of our Party of Chaos to the showers. This has irked the President of the European Union, one Ursula von der Leyen, no end. She has threatened to send Italy to its room without supper for the effrontery Of course, Madame von der Leyen’s fellow Germans have already been sent to their room without so much as a kartoffelklop, plus no heat or hot showers for you, Hansel and Gretel. Embrace the suck.

You may be sure that we’re in for the business here in America, too. The thermometers are trending down and Halloween won’t be so much fun when the little goblins come home to a house that’s the same temperature inside as the night air outside. Little Skippy’s face is turning blue, and not because he went trick-or-treating as Robert the Bruce.

The aforementioned Party of Chaos, the gang that queered the last big election, is surely gearing up to run a whole lot of work-arounds for massaging the November 8 midterm vote in their direction. Nothing is beyond them. One of their avatars, the podcaster Sam Harris, said it out loud a month ago: that lying and cheating is perfectly ethical in service to the Left’s being able to continue imposing its will upon all of us. Whoops! He let Schrodinger’s cat out of its hypothetical sack. The punishments must continue until morale improves! (Hope you enjoyed your career, Sam.)

And so it begins… as they intone in the horror movies when the contents of the family’s raised ranch, chattels, children, mom, dad, the golden retriever all get sucked out of the universe via some quantum portal in the television. Today the markets, tomorrow our beloved country will be overrun by what’ll look like an alien invasion of re-po men. This is the way the world ends… not with a bang… but with a physics lesson: the lonesome sound of Schrodinger’s cat’s meow.

Report: Stock Market Value Is Down $7.6 Trillion Since Biden Took Office…

Last edited 1 year ago by TrumpWon

Overwrought on the financials. The Bond Market is just doing its job and it’s approaching its peak, after which it will turn down again. The charts show it’s been here and above before.

This is more ‘interesting’: “…and how about a Russian hypersonic nuclear missile up your ass if the preceding somehow failed to move you?”

Remember when Trump was going to get us into a nuclear war? Good times, good times.
