‘Holy Sh**’: Trump at the U.N.

Rich Lowry:

As someone said on Twitter, never before has been there so much murmuring of “holy sh**” in so many different languages. Donald Trump’s speech at the United Nations was a sometimes awkward marriage of conventional Republican foreign policy and a very basic version of Trump’s nationalism.

The headline obviously was the threat to destroy North Korea if we are forced to defend ourselves. If the point of the speech was to get the world to take notice, this surely succeeded. But it’s still an open question of what exactly the administration’s North Korea policy is — a rhetorically forceful version of the usual hope that we can get China to pressure North Korea and eventually sit down to negotiate again with Pyongyang, or something different?

Also, Trump called the Iran nuclear deal an embarrassment to our country, which is a pretty strong indication that he wants to get out of the agreement and probably will (even if this continues to be an internal battle in the administration).

It’s very safe to say that the reference to Kim Jong-un as “rocket man” aside (which will occasion twelve hours of intense cable debate), we’ve never heard such direct, undiplomatic language from a U.S. president at Turtle Bay.

In general, Trump defended the American-created and -defended world order, but he did it on his own terms.

Trump was saying, clearly, that unless the world wants a catastrophe on its hands, it had better rein in Lil Kim because the US is not going to hesitate to vaporize him if he screws up and makes a move interpreted as a threat to the lives of Americans or our allies. This is not the Iraq situation where the leaders of the UN can collect their fat bribery checks as long as the only threat is aimed at the US.

Notably, unlike a previous President, he did not cite some lying thugs’ accusations as an excuse to brand the US a racist nation before the entire world. It’s nice to have a leader again.

I liked he end where he called out Venezuela for starving its people calling it perfect socialism.

Give North Korea and that little twerp who is ruining their nation hell

ever wonder on how much money the slut hilary, terrorist obama, and the drunk kerry made on the Iran deal?

The left-wing mainstream media must have edited out all the applause and cheering.

EVICT THE USELESS NATIONS lets turn the buildings into homeless shelter and the rest of the area into a bird sanctuary without the vultures already there

I’m not sure how long Trumps speech took, but he definitely said more in that one speech than Obozo said in the 8 years he was in office. Anyone can interpret as they wish, but what he told yung un was that if he screwed with the US he was effectively going to end NK war making ability, forever. If Obozo had spent the week there, he never would have gotten around to saying that.
Who is not in favor of doing away with the dictator that just took over Venezuela? That’s another Obozo created situation.

@Greg:
I think it was just shock-the slime of the world that makes up the UN is not used to hearing the truth.

Applause and cheering is not allowed. Yet, as you probably heard, some did break out.

@Greg: There was light applause, but being told were are done pumping in more than our fair share of cash without results they didnt like thinking they would need to pony up. They might want to think about who they put on certain committees, and stop bullying a certain country. The race to the NWO is over for now. What next will they have to pay for their parking tickets OMG!
Like Congress they have to do their jobs ewwww.
Cue …Its the end of the world as they know it.
