Gregory William Loel Timm arrested for driving through GOP signup tent in Jacksonville

A man drove his van into a tent where six people were registering people to vote. There were no injuries, but six of the volunteers were nearly hit, including one woman who said he missed her by six inches.

Gregory William Loel Timm, 27, was arrested by law enforcement with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and charged with two counts of aggravated assault on a person 65 years of age or older, one count of criminal mischief and driving with a suspended license.

The tent, set up by the Jacksonville Republican Party, had “Trump 2020” signs on it as well as the table that Timm reportedly ran over. Witnesses say he drove by, then turned around and started driving slowly towards the tent before “gunning it” directly at them. After narrowly missing the people there, he stopped his van, got out, filmed them with his cell phone, and made obscene gestures towards them before driving off.

Mainstream media has been effectively silent about the incident with NY Times and Washington Post running wire stories about it. If the situation was reversed and a Democrat-operated voter registration table was run over by a Trump supporter, there would be mass hysteria in newsrooms across the nation.

Gee, a snowflake comes out of his mommy’s basement for 10 minutes and already he’s in trouble. I guess this is more evidence of CONSERVATIVE violence… right?

Gregory William Loel Timm, 27, was arrested by law enforcement with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and charged with two counts of aggravated assault on a person 65 years of age or older, one count of criminal mischief and driving with a suspended license.

The charges for a Trump supporter , would have included attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon and hate crimes. They would search his social media and computer searches for anything that could be considered too white.

Timm should have tried this in Portland OR or NYC. He would have skated in NYC and the Portland cops wouldn’t even bothered arresting him,.

@DrJohn: In NYC, at least, he would not have had to post bail.

@Deplorable Me:

Maybe Wheeler, and his BFF Comrade Greggie, would like to explain to us why all the violence is coming from their side?

@retire05: They would, of course, have a perfectly plausible explanation. “It’s not us… it’s YOU. And DON’T ask me to prove it; I won’t play your little game.”

@retire05: Silence=condoning. If it were reversed, RW would be here ASAP demanding an immediate denunciation.

@kitt:

Aggravated Assault in Florida is a Second Degree Felony. Here is the penalty:

– up to fifteen years in prison, minimum of three years if assault is against a law enforcement officer
– a fine up to $10,000
– probation up to fifteen years, and restitution.
(Fla. Stat. § § 775.082, 775.083).

It would have been ideal if he would have been met deadly force since that is what he used, but taking out the driver of a moving vehicle is high risk and may have made the situation worse.

@another vet: They always end up in front of a liberal Judge and get less than a slap on the wrist.
