Funny how the Post Office only started experiencing issues when Orange Man appointed a bad new PMG…Or Did They?

I see many Dems, journos, and lib hacks upset about what they purport is Trump’s “war” on the USPS. If you took their hot takes at face value, you might think that the USPS is only started experiencing postal issues when Orange Man appointed a bad new PMG.

Let’s review:

2014; @MSNBC reports on the USPS cyber-attack, likely by China:

2014; @oliverdarcy drops this pro-tip:

@RepMarcyKaptur calls out issues with mail-in voting in Ohio:

2015; @repblumenauer calls out USPS delays, protests distribution center closures (OMG, WAIT, I THOUGHT THAT WAS JUST UNDER TRUMP!)

@RepPeterDeFazio begs the USPS to not distribution center closures (OMG, WAIT, I THOUGHT THAT WAS JUST UNDER TRUMP!)

@SenatorTester holds a round-table to discuss USPS issues in rural areas:

@SenJeffMerkley calls a meeting to address closures of USPS mail processing facilities (why didn’t you demand the PMG be fired, or protest in front of his house, Jeff?)

2016; @SenatorCarper reminds us of the USPS financial failures:

@RepTedLieu questions then PMG Brennan on mail theft issues in his district:

2017; @thedailybeast reports that the USPS violated the Hatch Act by allowing postal workers to campaign for Hillary Clinton:

2017; @CNN reports that the USPS violated the Hatch Act by allowing postal workers to campaign for Hillary Clinton:

2018; @NitaLowey sends a letter to the PMG calling on a plan to address “SYSTEMIC AND POTENTIALLY LIFE-THREATENING POSTAL SERVICE FAILURES”

2018; @CNN writes an article on “the shadowy world of mail fraud”:

2018; @RepYvetteClarke writes a letter to the USPS about the postal service issues that clearly “far exceed” the boundaries of her district:

signatories include @RepMaloney; @RepGregoryMeeks; @NydiaVelazquez; @RepJeffries; @RepJerryNadler; @RepGraceMeng; @RepJoseSerrano

2018; NitaLowey calls out the mail-theft in Westchester County, NY, noting it leads to loss of confidence in mail security.

2019; @lachlan tweets about the USPS IG findings, RE significant cybersecurity vulnerability:

2019; @CillizzaCNN receives this pillow in the mail:

(if I have to know about this, then so does everyone else).

Moving on,

2019; @CNN reminds us that the USPS doesn’t always go out in freezing cold weather:

(I hope we don’t get an early winter this November!)

Utah got fed up with postal workers messing with their elections.
So, in Utah, where all votes are done “by mail,” we now have “drop-off spots” in areas like Fire Departments and Police Stations that BYPASS the entire USPS!
You take your “mail-in ballot” to one of these drop off spots and it is supervised by poll workers from both major parties until the box is opened for counting on election day.

Other states tout Utah for its 100% mail-in voting, but few, if any are following thru on HOW Utah has had to deal with dishonest postal workers.

Good movie. Trump seems like he might be part of a prequel, like one of the plagues that brought down America. Nathan Holm would probably have been a supporter.

@Greg: Looks like instead of causing a problem, Trump is trying to fix one of the thousands Obama just ignored and left behind.

September 14, 2020 – Postal Police Sue USPS, DeJoy Over Restrictions They Claim Put Postal Workers In ‘Danger’

On August 25, Postal Police workers were informed of a new directive by Deputy Chief Inspector David Bowers that said officers “no longer had any law-enforcement authority, whatsoever, except when they are physically stationed on real estate owned or leased by the Postal Service,” reversing officers’ previous ability to protect U.S. mail and postal workers off of USPS premises.

Postal Police officers previously would go off-site “to protect letter carriers and the mail in dangerous areas, to stop mail theft from carriers and from collection boxes, and to insure the safety of the mail at airports,” the lawsuit explains, noting officers responded to an increase in attacks on mail carriers and crimes like “mail fishing” to steal mail from USPS collection boxes.

That was one of the results we warned you against.

@Bill H: Don’t worry. The goal of the Democrats is chaos and doubt.

@Bill H, #5:

That was one of the results we warned you against.

It’s a result that is being made more likely by ordering the Postal Police to stand down. The excuse is kind of like that given by an abusive husband who knocks down his wife and then says “Look at what you made me do.”

DeJoy had previously assured Congress that no more actions would be taken that might jeopardize the handling of a COVID-19 related surge in mail in ballots. Then this, very shortly after. He’s apparently another liar.

@Deplorable Me, #6:

All of the chaos is coming from the White House and from Trump’s enablers. It’s deliberate. Trump knows that he cannot win an honest, orderly election, so they’re doing everything possible to sow confusion and doubt about the integrity of the election process while simultaneously working every possible angle in and out of court to cobble the process up.

This has been kept secret from nobody. It’s totally obvious. What’s equally obvious is that it’s likely to blow up in their faces. We’re seeing the largest early voting turnout in the nation’s history. Most of those early voters aren’t Trump supporters. They’re people who are determined not to be denied their right to participate in the democratic process.

@Greg: Dont get yourself all worked up expecting a Biden win, you could be sky screaming.

@Greg:

All of the chaos is coming from the White House and from Trump’s enablers

No it isn’t. Not one bit. There is no reason everyone physically able can’t vote in person. Democrats pushing universal vote by mail was done KNOWING it was logistically impossible, they knew they could exploit the chaos AND commit a butt-load of fraud to boot. Lo and behold, we see that is exactly what is happening. Democrats want to tear this country down and replace it with an authoritarian police state.
