Democrats rely on biased lawyers to push impeachment circus

Loading

If you harbored any doubts that Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler would turn his impeachment hearing into a political circus and the second act of the Schiff Show, the Democrats’ witness list should dispel them.

Nadler and his fellow Democrats have invited three liberal law professors to help them interpret the drivel Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff assembled into a “report” following his embarrassing, two-week failure of an impeachment investigation. They are calling these professors to back-end attempt to justify their impeachment scam. This is laughable and outrageous.

Why? All three of these “impartial experts” are telling Democrats exactly what they want to hear.

These “experts” do not care what’s actually contained in Schiff’s biased, ridiculous report any more than Schiff cared about lying about working with the “whistleblower” to contrive this entire shameful episode. They care even less about what happened on a phone call between President Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Like the Democrat politicians running this circus, all three of them want Trump impeached, embarrassed, and, if possible, thrown out of office because they do not like his politics.

These professors are liberal activists who are still livid that Trump defeated their preferred candidate, Hillary Clinton, and they’ve spent the last three years looking for something, anything, that might give them a chance to kick Trump out of office.

The most blatant partisan at the hearing is Stanford’s Pamela Karlan. Karlan was second in command at the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division under Barack Obama, and she now chairs the board of directors at the American Constitution Society, the country’s most powerful association of liberal lawyers.

Karlan has spent much of her career fighting against the very policies that propelled Trump to the White House, and she’s been open about her fury over his success. Just after his election, Karlan signed a letter suggesting that President-elect Trump’s campaign rhetoric, proposed Cabinet and judicial nominations, and policies all threatened the Constitution. In 2017, she was interviewed extensively by the far-left Salonabout how Trump was an “illegitimate president.”

Despite Karlan’s record of disparaging Trump, which includes her enthusiastic embrace of the debunked Russia collusion conspiracy theory, the Democrats expect us to believe that she came to her opinion that Trump should be impeached because of a phone call with the president of Ukraine in July.

The second witness, Harvard professor and Bloomberg News columnist Noah Feldman, also has a long paper trail to contradict the notion that Adam Schiff’s report was what finally convinced him of the need to impeach Trump.

Almost immediately after Trump won the 2016 election, Feldman was indulging #Resistance fantasies about the Trump Hotel in Washington, D.C., allegedly violating the Constitution’s emoluments clause.

In March 2017, he said that Trump deserved to be impeached for pointing out, correctly, that the Obama administration had surveilled his associates. Two months later, Feldman claimedTrump should be impeached for allegedly asking former FBI Director James Comey to stop trying to intimidate and entrap former Trump administration official Michael Flynn. By June 2017, he was calling for Congress to “act before the courts” and impeach Trump over what former special counsel Robert Mueller mightfind. In 2018, he called Trump’s 2016 joke about Russia finding Hillary’s emails impeachable. At the start of this year, it was Buzzfeed’s discredited report about the president supposedly telling Michael Cohen to lie that Feldman deemed “clearly impeachable.”

During the current Ukraine fracas, Feldman has stayed true to form, writing article after article siding with Democrats and deriding Trump — just as he has done throughout the Trump administration.

If they were trying to make the case the Congress has the right to impeach, well guys Duhhhh.
Yes we are attacking the process chosen to have to ask which defense witnesses can be called, a mother may I unconstitutional process. Barry was a constitutional professor a regular scholar and lost 9 times before the supreme court.

They’re biased in favor of maintaining constitutional checks and balances, and against setting precedents that would make this and subsequent presidents above the reach of the law and unanswerable to Congress.

@Greg: More like we have a rabid faction of our institutions that have been found to have tried to stop Trump from getting elected, and only the get-along-gang of Trump Haters is getting air time.

It’s very clear there is no impeachable offense.

They’re biased

Glad you finally admit it.

How far are you willing to go to usurp our current government in favor of the increasingly non-democratic and non-law bound Democratic Party, Greg?

Are you ready to go all the way?

The precedent your party is setting is that any opposition party can impeach a president without legal cause or due process. The “charges” don’t adhere to our system of law, and three cherry-picked douchbag professors aren’t going to change that. Good thing Turley set every thing right.

But as you know, this goes nowhere. See you in 2024.

Todays hearing was so awful MSM didnt air the entire thing they went back to regular scheduled programming at 1:30.
Feldman pecking his answers out like a chicken bouncing in his chair shills for shariah law at Harvard.
Mar 16, 2008 · Harvard Law School professor Noah Feldman touched off a fierce debate when he recently wrote in The New York Times Magazine that Islamic Sharia law represents the highest state of “the rule of law.” But what many of Feldman’s critics did not recognize is that his argument has been building over several years.
Karlan looked peeved the entire time after she was outed for her pod cast appearance, she has done worse, rants on her hate for white men have turned up.
The Democrats sure know how to pick the very best.

December 8, 2010 – Thomas Porteous lawyer tells Senate judge made mistakes, but is no ‘grotesque character’

An interesting Senate impeachment trial… Judge Thomas Porteous’s impeachment lawyer was none other than Jonathan Turley, while Rep. Adam Schiff acted in the Senate proceedings as the House Impeachment Manager.

Jonathan Turley, the George Washington University law professor who served as Porteous’ lead counsel, told senators that the judge made mistakes, mostly because of financial problems related to a gambling addiction. Some of it was unseemly, such as taking free lunches and other gifts, but none of his actions came close to the sinister plot of kickbacks painted by House impeachment managers, Turley said.

“Did you ever think you would be sitting here … trying to decide if it it’s an impeachable offense being a moocher?” Turley said.

The “mooching” turned out to also involve things like accepting a $2000 “wedding present” from an attorney who was at the time representing a client before the judge in the courtroom.

Porteous was convicted and removed as a federal judge. The Senate also ruled that Porteous should be “Forever disqualified to hold any office of honor, trust or profit under the United States.” He was ruled to be so disqualified by a Senate vote of 94 to 2.

So Jonathen Turley is the guy that republicans brought in on the side of Donald Trump. Interesting. He seems like a good guy.

@Greg: No matter the issue, you Greggie always miss the point.

The most blatant partisan at the hearing is Stanford’s Pamela Karlan.

Pamela states she will cross the street to avoid walking past a Trump hotel. Yeah, that’s rational. This is the “smartest” of liberals. Apparently, Democrats can’t find anyone to agree with them but over-sensitive, butthurt, whiny crybabies that hate 24/7.

Democrats have such a good, solid case for impeachment that they have to make sure every phase is heavily biased in favor of promoting hearsay, opinion and assumptions as fact and suppressing any and all testimony and evidence that shows were the REAL corruption, obstruction and collusion is ALL on the Democrat side.

@Greg:

They’re biased in favor of maintaining constitutional checks and balances,

The only thing they are designed to keep in check is the presentation of real evidence Democrats don’t want the public to see and maintaining at least a 3 to 1 “balance” in their favor of the opportunity to present a case. They don’t even put forth the facade of any justice, equity or Constitutionality.

You never seem to address the question of WHY the Democrats have to lie so extensively in order to try to make it appear they have reason to even discuss impeachment.

Just now, Pelosi pulls the trigger of the gun she herself has put up to her own head. Good luck in the Senate, liars.

@Greg: Everything you offer about Porteous is irrelevant. It’s common practice for you Dems to use character assassination instead of common sense, or rule of law.

Turley’s points were rather clear.

You can’t impeach without bipartisan support, and there has to be an actual offense that everyone agrees happened.

And let me be clear…if there were clear offenses from Trump like Nixon and Clinton (both non-contested breaches of law)…I’d be all for impeachment. No one is above the law.

There just isn’t enough evidence for this, and there’s truly a “anti-Trump” cult that’s been formed even before his inauguration. We have facts on that.

Strozk: “We’ll stop it.”

Too much of the above…as if the Dems thought they now owned the country.

Your party needs to reexamine itself, and it’s platform.

The MO of massive amounts of propaganda and character assassination is no longer a viable way to go for the Dem party, and you’re going to see that at the voting booths come 2020.

Democrats have been locked into this path since Trump won. It has taken them this long… to the very last minute, to find some actual impeachable offense and they STILL have nothing. So, they’ve decided to proceed on thin air because their base does not understand what impeachment is for or how adult human beings are expected to behave. So, they will fulfill their commitment to their whiny, crybaby, sore loser, butthurt insane base and proceed with impeachment, which will collapse upon them when it gets to the Senate and, losing home field advantage, they have to play by legitimate rules and legal procedure.

The one bit of irrefutable evidence revealed through all this is the evidence that Democrats are corrupt and need to be purged from our government. They are corrupt to their very core.

@Deplorable Me: They are like little children. They didn’t get their way so they are going to pretend they have something.

So Pelosi is going forward they think these nutty professors have convinced the American people they have just cause. The professors will find out they stepped in it.

If you’ve been watching you know this entire impeachment hangs on the fact that Biden is a viable Dem candidate for the Dem presidential nominee.
This charade (that Biden is viable) cannot go past the Iowa caucus.
Why?
Because Dems can fake polls that put Biden near the front, but once Iowa happens that mask slips.
And, we’re seeing slippage in just why the Dems are impeaching the President.
Lately, Russia, Russia, Russia is back from the bottom of the list of failed causes for impeachment.
Now it IS the reason!
Not the Ukraine phone call!
Not the Biden-is-his-opponent tie-in!
Why?
Because we are about to see Biden drop out for one reason or another.
His dotage is showing.

George Soros’ man has taken over Ukraine’s prosecutor’s office and dropped all charges against Burisma.
But let’s don’t look into that.
Ukraine is proving to be more corrupt and unfixable than one good man in charge can clean.
Sad, too, that.

If I were to schedule Constitutional academics to testify, I would have researched their comments prior. Are they impartial? Have they been consistent in their impartiality? What are their prior comments regarding the subject on which they will be testifying?

Nadler could not have made worse choices. Especially Feldman and Karlan. Feldman has raved about Sharia law and has even implied that it is superior to our own system of law. Karlan is clearly an angry woman who is a radical leftist. Compare that to Turley who, while a liberal, tried mightily to keep his political opinion from his academic opinion.

There are few Constitutional academics on the left that I respect (I believe in originalism, not the living document meme) but Alan Dershowitz and Jonathan Turley are two of the ones I do. In spite of their liberalism, they believe the Constitution means what it says and says what it means and that the Founders outlined their opinions in the Federalist papers.

This fiasco will continue with the Democrat majority House impeaching President Trump. But the Senate will have no such constraints as imposed by Schiff and Nadler, and in spite of what Joe Biden proclaims, he will testify or be held in contempt.

Stock up on popcorn.

@retire05:

If I were to schedule Constitutional academics to testify, I would have researched their comments prior.

Ha! They DID! They got just what they wanted, biased, bigoted, prejudiced far left zealots that will reliable ignore evidence, truth, justice and the Constitution. Democrats need a solid wall of lies to push their hoax.

@Nathan Blue, #9:

The MO of massive amounts of propaganda and character assassination is no longer a viable way to go for the Dem party, and you’re going to see that at the voting booths come 2020.

Do you remember how Donald Trump went about destroying Ted Cruz, the republican front runner for 2016? Remember how he destroyed Chris Christie? How about Jeb Bush? He wouldn’t let up on John McCain even after the man was dead. It was his entire game when he went up against Clinton, and it’s the same damn thing with Biden. Character assassination has been Trump’s modus operandi from the start.

Consider his own character. For those who still remember them, the 12 points of the Boy Scout Law might serve as a handy check list. Given that Trump is reportedly germaphobic, there might be one point that applies.

@Greg: Yes we know we are waiting for multiple women to “me too” the professor that the Republicans called.
Old tired modus operandi.

@Greg: @Greg: First of all, John McCain was not a good guy. Do not worry, Greggie. Someone has to have character to have it being assassinated. There is very few Dems that have any.

@Greg: Uh… remember what Feinstein tried to do to Kavanaugh? How about what they did to Gen. Flynn? NO ONE can out-scumbag Democrats.

@Deplorable Me, #19:

John McCain had personal integrity—a quality that Trump not only lacks, but isn’t even capable of comprehending. I could recognize that about McCain even when I disagreed with his political positions, which was often. There few republicans left in the House or Senate who are his equal. He wasn’t the sort of man who would abandon his principles and fall in line behind a person like Donald Trump. He was the sort of man who would cross party lines to defend John Kerry from lies and slanderous attacks.

There are people like that, and then there are people like Donald Trump. Trump hates that distinction. It’s part of the distinction between Truth and Lies. It’s a distinction that must itself be corrupted in order for corrupt men to thrive and be honored.

@Greg: We all know that Democrats love, love, love dead Republicans, especially those that lie to their voters. They tingle over those that push for a new world order. The wet themselves over those that push a phony dossier back where it was created.
The clown show professor roll out only entertained you nobody is falling for that garbage calling them “witnesses”. Pfffft

What you won’t find are democrats pissing on John McCain’s grave. The dead spots in the grass were left by Trump and his followers. Trump publicly disrespected McCain’s military record. Trump didn’t even show for the funeral.

@Greg:

Trump didn’t even show for the funeral.

He was not invited but loaned them AF2 to haul the fetid, stinking carcass around for the good bye tour.
I dont change my tune because some assh0le does us a favor by passing on, thats a Democrat act, we dont need to steal your jokes.

He was not invited but loaned them AF2 to haul the fetid, stinking carcass around for the good bye tour.

I rest my case. I think I’ll go outside for some fresh air. I have leaves to rake.

@retire05:

Nadler could not have made worse choices.

Three Marxists offering their opinions on a document and a process conceived by individuals who were of Classical Liberal thought, something the left despises. Marxism was a direct denunciation of Classical Liberal thought and was advanced by Marx as such in order to offer an “alternative”. In addition to their obvious TDS, all three were also proven to be frauds and liars.

@Randy:

John McCain was not a good guy.

He wasn’t a good guy to the left until he bashed Trump. Prior to that, especially when he was outspoken in his support for OIF and when he ran against BHO, he was bashed by them as a war-mongering, mentally unstable racist. The left thinks the rest of us are too stupid to remember that and pretend they never did that. A bunch of backstabbing, two faced, lying, hypocritical phonies. Combine that with their totalitarian views and they are quite a pathetic (and dangerous) bunch just like their Bolshevik “forefathers” or should I say, “foregenderneutrals”.

@Greg: I didn’t mention McCain, though he showed his true colors, sadly, just before his death. I mentioned the wholesale lying Democrats have used to try and destroy Kavanaugh and Gen. Flynn. Of course you don’t want to mention Democrat integrity in reference to them; Democrats proved they HAVE no integrity.

I rest my case. I think I’ll go outside for some fresh air. I have leaves to rake.

You should rest it because it is a stone-cold, dead loser. I use my riding mower to pick up leaves; 8 55 gallon bags in about 4 hours.

@Deplorable Me: I dont know what he has a case of I hope it isnt catchy.
The testimony so “edge of your seat” https://twitter.com/SteveGuest/status/1202320359443369984/video/1
The Dems are going to get crushed in the Senate if they get the house vote.
I never bagged mine, I poured the diced leaves on the garden, tilled them in early spring.

@kitt, #23:

Trump didn’t show up for the war, either.

@Greg: Trump didnt destroy several very expensive aircraft and keep flying cause he was an admirals kid. He had a good Father and Grandfather, he was just a bad seed.
Trump has done more for vets in 3 years than all the years Mc Cain sucked on the government teat and rode on his Grandfather and Fathers name.
130 billion more in NATO funds from previous deadbeats.
The world is safer our National sovereignty is in much better hands 1 million jobs more than we could legally fill.
None of that would happen under Hildebeast or any freak running under your ticket.
Impeachment is going nowhere the Nader “witnesses” were know nothing, what a clown show.

@Greg: Because McCain was one of them dumb Ass!

@Greg:

Trump didn’t show up for the war, either.

And Bill Clinton did?

@Greg:

Trump didn’t even show for the funeral.

Country over party.

That’s why Blexit is moving forward so quickly:

Trump is breaking the chains put on African Americans by the Democrat Party, and that’s already going to win the election in 2020.

Ka. Oh, and Boom.
