Democratic Oppo Firm’s Fingerprints on NYT Rubio Hit

Brent Scher:

The New York Times Friday report that Republican Sen. Marco Rubio (Fla.) and his wife Jeanette have been cited 17 times for traffic violations was written after the citations were pulled by liberal opposition research firm American Bridge, according to Miami-Dade County court records.

Records show that each of the citations mentioned by the New York Times were pulled in person by American Bridge operatives on May 26, 2015.

Take for example the time Rubio was pulled over in 1997. “Mr. Rubio’s troubles behind the wheel predate his days in politics,” wrote the New York Times. “In 1997, when he was cited for careless driving by a Florida Highway Patrol officer, he was fined and took voluntary driving classes.”

A look at the docket for that infraction on Miami-Dade County’s website shows that American Bridge was in Miami to pull records on that case at 11:42 a.m. on May 26:

Neither of the reporters, Alan Rappeport and Steve Eder, appeared on the docket records for any of the traffic citations for Rubio and his wife. An additional researcher credited in the New York Times, Kitty Bennett, also does not appear on any of the court records.

The reporters, however, were praised by others in the newsroom for their “nice scoop.”

None of the reporters involved responded to Washington Free Beacon requests for comment by press time.

In a recent Times story that actually cited Democratic sources by name, Jeremy Peters reported that “A Hillary Clinton Match-Up With Marco Rubio Is a Scary Thought for Democrats.”

So scary, indeed, that Democrats appear to be feeding opposition research to the Times.

Good Lord. Is that all the left has to worry about? Hillary rakes in millions of foreign donation dollars and hands out State Department permissions like candy and the left worries about Republican speeding tickets?

And these people vote (often multiple times).

Sounds like poor Hillary is up against another squeaky-clean candidate, like Romney was.
That’s nothing!
We ELECTED as president a pothead who admitted doing coke when he could afford it. Just think.
He sure can afford a ton of it now!
And he’s off ”playing golf,” with old druggie buddies practically every single weekend.
Hillary has real scandals following her around.
If she wants to go all the way back to pre-elective office era lots more ”old news,” becomes important again.

Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama got more than an education when he attended Harvard Law School in the late 1980s. He also got a healthy stack of parking tickets, most of which he never paid.

The Illinois Senator
shelled out $375 in January _ two weeks before he officially launched his presidential campaign _ to finally pay for 15 outstanding parking tickets and their associated late fees.

The story was first reported Wednesday by The Somerville News.

Obama received 17 parking tickets in Cambridge between 1988 and 1991, mostly for parking in a bus stop, parking without a resident permit and failing to pay the meter, records from the Cambridge Traffic, Parking and Transportation office show.

He incurred $140 in fines and $260 in late fees in Cambridge in all, but he paid $25 for two of the tickets in February 1990.

Some ticket getters are more equal than others ….. to the NYTimes.
But, more importantly, if Marco is held liable for the ”sins of his wife,” how much more piling on will Hillary suffer as a result of the ”sins of her husband?”

@Nanny G:

Nah. It’s just that leave it to a scummy, muck-racking liberal to even think of digging into such a thing, much less making a story of it.

No bias in the MSM at all…

A dem SecState runs a private server to hide emails from the public – clearly against national security regulations – but the NYT is all aflutter over a republican Senator’s WIFE’S speeding tickets.

But Fox News is the media conglomerate that is biased…..

Chillary’s driving record is clean because she leaves the driving to limo drivers like all good socialist party leaders.
