Intelligence Community Inspector General Michael Atkinson appeared on Capitol Hill Friday for his second closed-door meeting with members of the House Intelligence Committee.

Fox News reporter Catherine Herridge reported that Mr. Atkinson revealed to lawmakers Friday that the ‘whistleblower’ never told him that he met with Adam Schiff’s committee staffers.

Via Fox News Congress reporter Chad Pergram: Colleague Catherine Herridge rpts ICIG Atkinson told lawmakers the whistleblower did not disclose to the ICI that he contacted Schiff’s committee. Atkinson said the whistleblower volunteered he was a registered Democrat

The IG said since he never knew the ‘whistleblower’ contacted Schiff’s staffers he never looked into, IG “had no knowledge of it.”

Ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA) and fellow intel panel member Rep. John Ratcliffe (R-TX) said on Friday that Schiff should be disqualified because he is a “fact witness” in the whistleblower case.

Not only is Adam Schiff a “fact witness,” he seriously violated House rules because he didn’t share the classified info with Minority members of the House Intel Committee (such as Devin Nunes).

The New York Times reported on Wednesday that Adam Schiff learned about the Deep State CIA spy’s accusations against Trump over his phone call to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky several days before the officer filed a whistleblower complaint.

This whole Impeach Trump is starting to to come apart fast the Democrats are going to be swimming for their lives

In a weak effort to make people disbelieve their lying eyes and ears, the left is praising Schiff as a brave hero. I can’t WAIT until Pelosi tears into him for ethics violations!!! (Because she really, really cares about ethics)

it all will end in one great big toilet flush.

From FOX News, April 3, 2020 – Trump fires Michael Atkinson, intelligence IG who told Congress about Ukraine phone call: report

President Trump has reportedly fired Michael Atkinson, the inspector general for the U.S. intelligence community who alerted Congress to concerns about a Trump phone call with the president of Ukraine – a matter that led to the president’s impeachment last year.

Trump formally notified the intelligence committees of both the Senate and House in a letter dated Friday that was obtained by Politico.

“This is to advise that I am exercising my power as President to remove from office the Inspector General of the Intelligence Community, effective 30 days from today,” the president wrote.

“It is extremely important that we promote the economy, efficiency, and the effectiveness of Federal programs and activities. The Inspectors General(s) have a critical role in the achievement of these goals,” the president continued. “As is the case with regard to other positions where I, as President, have the power of appointment, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate, it is vital that I have the fullest confidence in the appointees serving as Inspectors General. That is no longer the case with regard to this Inspector General.”

…because he investigated a complaint about my perfect telephone call, and found the allegation credible and the matter of urgent concern.

The president added he would nominate a replacement “who has my full confidence and who meets the appropriate qualifications,” at a later time.

Yep. At a later time. We’re still waiting for even one of those three empty Federal Election Commission seats to be filled, given that it’s an election year and the FEC presently lacks the required four of six members necessary to take any regulatory action. This neglectful “oversight” has now gone on for over 7 months, but maybe the Intelligence Community IG spot will be more quickly tended to.

In January, Fox News reported that Atkinson was being investigated by Republican members of the House Intelligence Committee for his handling of the Ukraine matter, which began with a complaint filed by an unidentified “whistleblower.”

Last August, Atkinson received a complaint from someone who raised concerns about Trump’s July 25 phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, in which Trump sought a Ukraine-led investigation into the past business dealings in the country of former Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden.

Predictable retribution. All that was required as a distraction was a pandemic that’s still spreading exponentially, and is predicted to result in a 38 percent drop in the nation’s GDP.

The upside for Republican members of the House Intelligence Community is that now they won’t have to come up with evidence that Atkinson did anything improper.

@Greg: Cover? Ever think this guy earned his dismissal? The IG could have checked the NSA data base and found there was extensive contact with Schiftys office. Dealing with a CIA agent getting classified information from the executive branch. It is illegal for the CIA to operate within the borders of the USA let alone spy on the President, as the IG of intelligence do you think he should know that?
Or he wasn’t cooperating with Durhams criminal investigations dealing with a certain ex spook CNN employee

Ever think this guy earned his dismissal?

Nope, and no one has presented any actual evidence that he did. The evidence against the I.G. is every bit as real as Rudy Giuliani’s evidence against Biden. There’s nothing there but allegations rolled out as part of a defamation project.

Atkinson changed the rules to make a lying leaker without any first-hand knowledge of anything into a “whistle blower”, working in league with Schiff and Pelosi to create their fake impeachment. He should be fined the amount the impeachment cost this nation, along with Schiff, Pelosi and Nadler… every Democrat liar that participated. It is THEY that have the coronavirus “blood on their hands”; they distracted the government needlessly and lawlessly while this Chinese attack crept up on us.

Atkinson should be in jail.
