Biden Announces Ban on Russian Oil Imports as Gas Prices in the U.S. Reach Historic High

Joe Biden announced on Tuesday that his administration will ban Russian oil and gas imports, triggering even higher gas prices in the United States.

“This is a move that has strong bipartisan support in Congress and I believe in the country,” Biden said.

The national average for a gallon of gas is already the highest in U.S. history, reaching $4.17 a gallon on Tuesday.

This move to punish Russia comes after Ukrainian President Volodmyr Zelenskyy pleaded with U.S. and Western officials to cut off the imports, and after top Republicans and Democrats in Congress announced a deal on legislation banning the import of Russian oil and other energy products.

“Americans have rallied to support the Ukrainian people and made it clear that we will not part of subsidizing Putin’s war,” Biden said.

“We made this decision in close consultation with European allies, and our partners around the world,” he added.

The U.S., it appears, will be acting alone, as our European allies are more dependent on Russian energy.

“We are moving forward with this ban understanding that many of our European allies and partners may not be in a position to join us,” Biden explained. “The United States produces far more oil domestically than all of the European countries combined. In fact, we’re a net exporter of energy, so we can take this step when others cannot.”

Biden said he has always “leveled with the American people” about the costs of the potential move.

“When I first spoke to this, I said defending freedom’s going to cost. It’s going to cost us, as well,” he admitted.

Biden went on to say that “it is clear that Ukraine will never be a victory” for Russian president Vladimir Putin. “Putin may be able to take a city, but he’ll never be able to hold the country,” he insisted.

Biden did not takes questions following his remarks.

“I know there’s a lot of questions,” he said as reporters shouted out their questions. “But there’s a lot more that has to be made clear, and I’m going to hold on that until we get more information.”

After shutting down oil production in the United States, the Biden administration is now seeking oil deals with communist and terror regimes we previously shunned.

In recent weeks, senior Biden officials have been in talks with both Venezuela and Iran to import oil to the United States.

In a tweet on Monday, Senator Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) shared a video of Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro proudly touting the resumption of talks with the United States.

“Here it is, as I told you earlier the White House offered to abandon those seeking freedom from #Venezuela in exchange for an insignificant amount of oil & this announcement below from the narco-dictator #Maduro,” Rubio wrote.

Meanwhile, Republicans on Tuesday introduced new legislation called the “No Oil From Terrorists Act” to block the United States from purchasing oil products from Iran,

Republicans argue that the Biden administration should focus on boosting domestic energy supplies rather than funding terrorist regimes. Biden shut down the Keystone XL Pipeline, and oil and gas lease sales from federal lands and waters in his first days in office, citing concerns over climate change.

Neal Crabtree, who was laid off from his job working on the Keystone pipeline, told Fox News on Tuesday that workers could have the pipeline functioning within eight months if the Biden administration would allow construction to proceed.

But… he can’t control the price of oil. It’s impossible.

Reopening American energy would not allow biden to keep punishing Americans with high fuel price and food prices. It would be the rational thing to do.

the obama/biden cabal is anything but pro American.

Ok I’m in on buying a Tesla, what could go wrong?

If you own a car that came with OnStar equipment installed, you’ve also got a remotely controlled off switch–courtesy of corporate America.

OnStar can be disabled.

Yep. You can find and unplug the module. As long as it’s still plugged in, it can be remotely reactivated. Otherwise, someone could be listening in on every word spoken in your car.

Greg we know, everyone knows there are ways to remove the device and chuck your cell phone, use cash and grow and preserve your own food.
There are a few of us that remember we are from people that dealt with the ice age and mega fauna saber toothed cats and survived with little more than pointy sticks. Fear porn is useless on some of us.

Saudi Arabia isn’t the homicidal lunatic at the gate of western civilization.
Neither is Venezuela.

I feel sad about Yemen, but Yemen is not the gate of western civilization. Putin is a threat to everything we value and believe. He won’t stop with Ukraine.

It’s okay, greg. We know you are racist.

Putin’s actions are a result of people like you.

Just own it already. You don’t care about dead kids in Ukraine.

You don’t remember Khashoggi? You all thought all contact with Saudi Arabia should be severed because this liar was killed. It’s the reason the Saudis get such a kick out of telling idiot Biden to go f**k himself.

Maduro is an oppressive fascist dictator starving his people while he lives like a king. He isn’t even the lawful leader. Oh… wait. That’s the kind of guy you like. Nevermind.

Mohammed bin Salman is an evil bastard, but he’s not the evil bastard who threatens all of western civilization.

He’s not the guy who says we must choose between giving him whatever he wants and then be destroyed one at a time at his convenience, or refusing him and being destroyed all at once. He doesn’t seem to care that option #2 would also result in the total destruction of his own country.

As usual, you can’t address the question or your own hypocrisy.

Biden Economic Advisor Brian Deese: The Only Viable Path to Energy Independence is to Reduce Fossil Fuel Use to “Zero” (VIDEO)
This moron is on LSD. There is no way we could totally remove the usage of oil as a source of energy.

And then he took his taxpayer funded SUV convoy to the private jet waiting for him to take him home.

Biden said he has always “leveled with the American people” about the costs of the potential move.

Then, as is his custom, he went on to lie about everything he spoke about. He lied about domestic production, he lied about costs, he lied about producers gouging the American people… he just lied and lied and lied and lied.

So, since Iran doesn’t speak to us, idiot Biden thinks he will have Russia speak to Iran on our behalf and ask Iran to replace the oil we no longer buy from Russia. No… really. The stupidity is really, really strong with this one.

First and foremost on the Democrat mind is to case harm and weakness on the United States.

The joe biden height of irony is that he would cut off oil to the USA from Russia so as to hurt the Russian economy, but, at the same time claims that his cutting off the Keystone XL pipeline doesn’t hurt our own economy!

It is more than obvious that the biden junta is doing this intentionally

With all the hub-bub about Ford et al making EVs, this is part of the plan.

Remember, idiot Biden speaks to the stupid people. He and Democrats know trying to convince intelligent people of their weak bullshit is pointless, so they direct their statements only at the stupid and amp up the bullshit. The stupid don’t seem to mind so much.

Well so far we are not funding both sides of the war until we get oil from Russia, with Venezuelas mark ups.
