During Saturday’s DNC debate, Hillary Clinton made a hyperbolic (and false) statement about Donald Trump’s statement about temporarily keeping Muslims out of the country, being used in ISIS’ recruiting video. More than one fact check organization has said there was absolutely no proof her declaration was true.
“He is becoming ISIS’s best recruiter,” she said during the debate, answering a question about how she would address those Americans who support Trump’s proposed ban on Muslims entering the U.S. She added that ISIS is “going to people showing videos of Donald Trump insulting Islam and Muslims in order to recruit more radical jihadists.”
Following Ms. Clinton’s logic that saying bad things about Muslims gives one a starting role in a terrorist recruitment video, then Hillary should have a video of her own, Back in 2001 when she was the Junior Senator from New York, Ms. Clinton was a strong supporter of singling out people who followed Islam.
In an interview with Sam Donaldson for ABC’s This Week on the Sunday after 9/11, Clinton said we needed to do everything possible to prevent a terrorist attack – even profiling. Since it was known that the 9/11 attack was conducted by radical Muslims, Clinton was talking about profiling people who practiced or looked like they practiced Islam.
