The Bizarre Situation With Huma And Terror

Senator McCain’s chivalrous defense of Huma Abedin, intimate confidant of Hillary Clinton, is not only inappropriate, but it borders on gross negligence and incompetence. We have come to expect the release of classified information that puts our servicemen and ultimately the Republic at risk from the present administration, but it is disconcerting to hear Republicans defending possible terrorist moles with the bravado of latter-day Chamberlains, promising peace in our lifetimes.

Congress has a penchant for passing toothless legislation, especially as it affects them. The STOCK Act is no exception. STOCK stands for Stop Trading on Congressional Knowledge. There is enthusiasm for such a law.

Fervor over insider trading on Capitol Hill reached a peak last fall following the airing of a “60 Minutes” segment questioning whether lawmakers including House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) made investments based on their knowledge of legislative activity to which they would be privy.

Obama – “Give Me More Taxes or Give Me Nothing”

President Obama gave another speech this morning, this time announcing his deficit reduction class warfare plan:

President Obama called on Monday for Congress to adopt his “balanced” plan combining entitlement cuts, tax increases and war savings to reduce the federal deficit by more than $3 trillion over the next 10 years, and said he would veto any approach that relied solely on spending reductions to address the fiscal shortfall.
