You remember the brave, skilled and patriotic Tom Cruise playing Maverick in the movie Top Gun. His flying exploits remind me of the Republicans in the House and the Senate. Maverick engaged with the enemy in deadly combat and put his life at risk to serve his country. It was amazing to watch Mav dodge bullets, evade deadly missiles and defy strict orders in order to accomplish his mission. He was courageous and his exploits were heroic.
Republicans in Congress behave exactly like Maverick. NO, not like the brave Maverick in Top Gun 2 who puts his own life at risk to save his wingman. NO, not like the fearless Maverick who disobeyed orders and flew faster than Mach 10 and asked for a glass of water. NO, not like the valiant Maverick in Top Gun 2 who successfully completed a dangerous combat mission against impossible odds.
I was thinking more like Maverick in the first Top Gun movie. You remember Mav near the end of the movie when sh-t was hitting fan, everyone was sweating profusely and his buddies were getting shot up and shot down by 6 enemy Migs. Pilots were crying for help and Maverick who arrived late to the party, was paralyzed by fear and quit the fight. His panicked buddies screamed in anger and disgust, “Maverick is disengaging!”
Republicans in Congress are paralyzed by fear and have done nothing, zilch, nada for the last 18 months. When Trump left Washington, he sucked all of the courage out of the town and took it with him. The Republicans have disengaged and quit the fight. Most of them have morphed into a smack of spineless jellyfish.
Open southern border and influx of unvetted, illegal, uneducated aliens: YAWN. Disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan: YAWN. J-6 Americans illegally incarcerated: YAWN. Sending billions and billions of dollars to Ukraine: YAWN. Dawn invasion of Trump’s home in Mar-a-Lago by the FBI: YAWN. The Chine virus: YAWN. Fentanyl killing Americans: YAWN. Americans left behind in Afghanistan at the hands of the Taliban; YAWN. America 30.733 TRILLIION $$$$in debt: YAWN. 40.5 million Americans are living in poverty: YAWN. 27 million Americans are without insurance. YAWN. Homeless veterans: YAWN. Hiring 87,000 new IRS agents an arming them. YAWN. Using $500,000 of taxpayers money to build a wall around Biden’s 2.7 million dollar beach house: YAWN. Spending 300 billion dollars we don’t have to pay off student loans. YAWN.
Americans are suffering because inflation is spiking, justice has been perverted and the current occupant of the White House is AWOL. These are desperate times and we are facing the total destruction of our beloved country. America is the land of the free and the home of the brave. We need strong men and women to rise up and restore America to its original glory.
Everyone of the brave men and women who serve in the Army, Navy, Marines, Coast Guard and Air Force are heroes. Servicemen and women are brave and sacrifice their lives on a daily basis to keep us safe. We love them, “Because they stand on a wall and say, “Nothing’s going to hurt you tonight, not on my watch.” Republicans in Congress who cower behind their desks and remain silent are unworthy of their sacrifice and undeserving of our respect. They would never have the courage to stand on a wall in some godforsaken country and vow to keep us safe.

Perhaps you identified one of the reasons Democrats are so determined to destroy Trump. He was a true leader that led by example and with courage. When he was in charge, many Republicans who never did before actually developed some guts and courage. Take out the leader and the rest of the army will collapse.
