A man who joked about not having the Covid vaccine has died after a month-long battle with the virus.Stephen Harmon, a member of the Hillsong megachurch, passed away on Wednesday at the Corona Regional Medical Center outside Los Angeles.
The 34-year-old was being treated for Covid and pneumonia and had been a vocal opponent of coronavirus vaccines. In June, he tweeted: “If you’re having email problems, I feel bad for you son. I got 99 problems but a vax ain’t one.”
Dick Farrel, 65
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — Former South Florida talk show host Dick Farrel, known and beloved by fans for his over-the-top right-wing opinions, has died from complications from COVID-19.
On Facebook, Farrel advocated against getting the coronavirus vaccine and was skeptical of Dr. Anthony Fauci, Chief of the U.S. National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease, and his recommendations concerning the coronavirus. Friends said after contracting the virus he changed his point of view.
Daniel Trujillo, 33
A 33-year-old Colorado sheriff’s deputy who publicly criticized the effectiveness of coronavirus vaccines died from COVID-19 complications. Daniel Trujillo, a married father of two, died on Wednesday, the Denver Sheriff’s Department said.
“It is with great sadness that we share 33-year-old Denver Sheriff Deputy Daniel “Duke” Trujillo passed away last evening from COVID-19 complications,” the department wrote on Facebook Thursday morning.
H. Scott Apley, 45
A local Texas politician who appeared skeptical on social media of mask use and Covid-19 vaccines died this week from complications of the coronavirus, the mayor of his community said Friday.
Dickinson Councilman H. Scott Apley’s death was first announced Wednesday on the Texas Republican Party’s page, which did not detail the cause, but posts on social media about how he had been hospitalized with Covid have underscored a sharp political divide during the pandemic.
These unfortunate people had something in common. They were all vaccine skeptics. They were all overweight and/or obese. They all became deathbed converts.
Obesity is a major comorbidity in COVID 19.
To summarize, numerous studies indicate that obesity is associated with increased disease severity and mortality in COVID-19.
Obesity is a common, serious, and costly chronic disease. Having obesity puts people at risk for many other serious chronic diseases and increases the risk of severe illness from COVID-19. Everyone has a role to play in turning the tide against obesity and its disproportionate impact on racial and ethnic minority groups.
If you are overweight, vaccination is highly recommended.
If you are obese, it is imperative that you be vaccinated.
If you know someone like this, please urge them to get vaccinated. The risk from the vaccine is far less than the risk of COVID in this population.

Obesity does make covid worse, BUT there have been people killed (of covid) inside hospitals when doctors falsely claimed that there was nothing that could be done for them.
“The disease just has to run its course,” one doctor is quoted as saying as a 27 year old man (not obese) died slowly of covid.
There are treatments that should be available but are held back by politics.
HCQ and Ivermectin are only two of them that are unavailable but that work wonders.
Doctors in hospitals have access to these but CHOOSE to watch people die instead of saving them.

You could sleep with a rabbit’s foot under your pillow and receive the same protective or curative benefit, without the risk of potentially serious side effects.
If hydroxychloroquine were effective in the prevention or treatment of COVID illness, it would be widely used for that. There’s not a global conspiracy among medical professionals to deprive their patients of a readily available medication that could prevent or help them recover from COVID.
There DOES seem to be widespread susceptibility to all sorts of conspiracy theories.
It IS widely used, as I have shown before. You are aware that DOCTORS prescribe and administer it, right? People aren’t allowed to just go buy themselves some hydroxychloroquine and use all they want. But the left doesn’t want a cheap and effective treatment. They want fear and dependency.

There were only questionable claims by several doctors—who seemed to like the spotlight—anecdotal reports, and a couple of small, early, and flawed studies.
On the weight of that and Trump’s repeated public endorsement of the drug—and given the understandable desperation of doctors and their seriously ill patients, who argued they had little to lose by trying it—the FDA issued an Emergency Use Authorization. The EUA was subsequently REVOKED as multiple controlled studies and statistical reports came in, indicating that hydroxychloroquine was INEFFECTIVE in both the treatment and prevention of COVID illness.
In the FDA’s view, ineffectiveness PLUS a well-documented risk of potential negative side effects equals WORSE THAN USELESS, when considering treatment options for the specific condition under consideration.
I happen to know it was. I happen to know of actual cases where it was used. I also happen to have read studies and reports of its use and effectiveness. Therefore, I know that Democrats opposed its use solely because Trump mentioned its effectiveness, much like the denounced the vaccines, preferring for people to suffer and die (and become fodder for their campaign of lies) than see them recover.
You expose your stupidity on the topic; it’s not used for the seriously ill. It’s used to prevent patients from becoming seriously ill. Without it, many cases progressed to the serious stage, which the Democrats loved.

No, control is required because people would otherwise use powerful and often dangerous medications as they now do relatively benign nutritional substances, with widespread disastrous consequences. In the case of a great many relatively common prescription drugs, the area dividing useful or lifesaving and poisonous can be narrow.

People who had COVID get no benefit at all from vaccination, and they get reactions to the vaccines at four to six times the previously uninfected.
