Last night Donald Trump debated Joe Biden in a free for all. Trump also debated Chris Wallace. Time after time Wallace let stand Biden’s false assertions stand. Wallace interrupted Trump non-stop but would not interrupt Biden. Wallace challenged Trump on his assertions but time and again refused to challenge Biden.

Biden would not disclose his list for the Supreme Court, nor would he answer the question as to whether he would pack the Supreme Court. “You have to elect me to find out what’s in me.”
When Trump brought up the $3.5 million paid to Hunter Biden by the ex-wife of the Mayor of Moscow, Biden denied it.
“Just out of curiosity, the mayor of Moscow’s wife gave your son $3.5 million. What did he do to deserve it?”
“None of that is true,” Biden responded. “Totally discredited. Totally discredited. That is not true.”
It’s quite true.
Wallace let it stand and could not be bothered to ask Biden about it. And yes, Biden did extort Ukraine.
Biden said he was ready to lock down the country again but wants to open the economy.
Biden did promise to raise taxes.
Biden would not say he supported law enforcement. Biden could not name a single law enforcement group that supports him.
Biden called Trump names several times.
Wallace was something else last night. He repeatedly came to Biden’s rescue and frequently wound up debating Trump. I was really put off when Wallace conflated mail-in ballots with absentee ballots. Biden is absolutely correct. Trump will voluntarily release his tax records when hell freezes over. Trump will not categorically renounce white supremacist groups. He will only assert that he will do so—which, as with his tax returns, is not the same as actually doing it. There’s a reason he won’t actually do it, and assuming that it’s only because white supremacist extremists are part of his base might be naive.

He’s a decent human being, who doesn’t hold himself above anyone else who’s trying to be the same. He wasn’t born to wealth. He knows that people can fall and then get up again. If the people get to choose, he’s going to be the next president. If he is, the country will be the better for it.
