USPS- The new Russian collusion hoax

You knew we weren’t going to get through this election without some cockamamie democrat conspiracy theory, right? In 2016 it was Russia, Russia, Russia. Today democrats are going postal.

“To watch this postmaster general destroy the postal service under Trump’s direction and to watch Mitch McConnell do nothing to try to stop that, and by the way, or anybody in the Republican senator caucus stop him other than just give lip service, is disgusting,” Tester declared. “I’m going to tell you if these guys have their way, they will destroy the postal service. They’ll do it because they don’t want people to vote, which is bad enough. But in the process, it’s going to hurt rural America in a big, big way and hurt rural states like Montana in a big, big way. And that’s why we’ve tried to point out to folks all around the state of Montana and the country that the postal service is important. And that we ought to make sure the postal service is around for this election and for a long time after this election. And to see what postmaster DeJoy has done is absolutely disgusting. And certainly not the right direction this country needs to be going in.”

Tester was never the sharpest tool in the shed. But he wasn’t the only one. The King of the Climate Con Men weighed in

Well, yes we have. In 2016, to be exact, when Rex’s photo was taken

Thieves raiding Valley mailboxes prompt Postal Service to take action

Turns out that fishing, or stealing mail, has become so common that postal officials have been retrofitting boxes around the San Fernando Valley and other areas to make them more tamper proof, said Richard J. Maher, spokesman for Post Office operations in Los Angeles and Orange counties.

No one was bothered about that in 2016. Similarly, no one was bothered when obama said this in 2009:

Trump is stealing mail boxes, say democrats!

Uh sorry, no

Source

This from the USPS itself- in 2016!

Mail collection boxes are practically as American as apple pie. They also seem to be disappearing as quickly as mom’s homemade apple pie.

Nationally, the number of collection boxes declined by more than 12,000 in the past 5 years. Some customers have complained the U.S. Postal Service has gone too far and removed too many collection boxes in neighborhoods. They’ve also questioned whether this effort is saving USPS money in the long run.

It’s a tough balancing act for the Postal Service. Some collection boxes are barely used and are expensive to maintain. On the other hand, mail collection boxes are a visible representation of the Postal Service to the American public, and their disappearance has been noted. They also are reliable, secure, and convenient receptacles for mail.

As part of its efforts to keep its collection infrastructure proportionate to customers’ needs at a reasonable cost, the Postal Service has eliminated underused collection boxes that on average receive fewer than 25 pieces a day; it has also added collection boxes where they are convenient for customers.

Our recent audit report looked at the Postal Service’s collection box removal process in the Eastern Area and found that it was not effective. While the area and its 10 districts have procedures for removing and relocating collection boxes, they were not consistently followed.

For the record, Trump is not “attacking” the USPS or starving it. Byron York:

The Postal Service has lost money for a very long time. In fiscal year 2019, it had operating revenues of $71.1 billion and operating expenses of $79.9 billion, leaving it with a deficit of $8.8 billion. At the moment, Postal Service officials have told Congress, it has about $14 billion in cash on hand, putting it on the road to fiscal insolvency (without further aid) in late 2021.

In the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act, or CARES Act, the $2 trillion relief measure passed in March, Congress gave the Postal Service a $10 billion borrowing authority. After the bill became law, there were negotiations between the Postal Service and the Treasury Department on the terms of the borrowing; a deal was announced in July. The ability to borrow $10 billion, the postmaster general said, would “delay the approaching liquidity crisis.”

That was all the aid for the Postal Service in the CARES Act. Completely separately, the bill also gave $400 million to something called the Election Assistance Commission for distribution to states to “prevent, prepare for, and respond to coronavirus, domestically or internationally, for the 2020 federal election cycle.”

In May the House passed the so-called “Heroes Act”

The House HEROES Act would give $25 billion to the Postal Service in what is essentially a bailout. The bill mentions nothing about helping the Postal Service handle the upcoming election or any other election. Indeed, the only stipulation at all placed on the $25 billion is that the Postal Service, “during the coronavirus emergency, shall prioritize the purchase of, and make available to all Postal Service employees and facilities, personal protective equipment, including gloves, masks, and sanitizers, and shall conduct additional cleaning and sanitizing of Postal Service facilities and delivery vehicles.” If the House Democrats who wrote and passed the bill intended the money to be spent specifically for elections, they did not say so in the text of the legislation.

Ryan Saavedra

The notion that Trump is not funding the USPS is not true. The Trump administration agreed on July 29 to loan the USPS “$10 billion in emergency coronavirus relief funding,” The Washington Post reported, adding that the money is “a crucial injection of cash that postal officials say will keep the debt-laden agency solvent for at least another year.” In exchange for the money, USPS will provide the Treasury Department “copies of its 10 largest ‘negotiated service agreements,’ or contracts with high-volume third-party shippers such as Amazon, FedEx and UPS.” The goal, Treasury Department Sec. Steve Mnuchin explained, is “to fulfill the President’s goal of establishing a sustainable business model under which USPS can continue to provide necessary mail service for all Americans, without shifting costs to taxpayers.”

Read the whole thing for the rest of the left wing lies.

In short, dems are full of sh*t as usual and are looking to create the next Russian collusion hoax.

@Greg:

he and his crew come up with nothing.

Haha. Nothing except hard examples of fraud and error.

Desperate much?

From 2019: NEWLY RELEASED 2016 ELECTION ADMINISTRATION AND VOTING SURVEY PROVIDES SNAPSHOT OF NATION’S VOTER TURNOUT REGISTRATION TRENDS VOTING SYSTEMS:

In 2016, more than 41 percent of all ballots were cast before Election Day. Of the total turnout, approximately 17 percent of ballots were cast using in-person early voting and nearly 24 percent were cast using by-mail absentee voting.

Nearly one-quarter of the total ballots cast in 2016 were submitted by mail—and 2016 was a presidential election when no one had concerns about a dangerous pandemic.

Logistics wouldn’t be a problem, if we were preparing for a predictable increase in mailed ballots rather than deliberately trying to screw up the existing mechanism that allows for their timely handling and delivery.

@Nathan Blue:

Haha. Nothing except hard examples of fraud and error.

There are no meaningful hard examples. The best they have ever come up with are isolated, statistically insignificant instances. They can’t provide more even when a judge advises them to do so.

@Greg:

There are no meaningful hard examples.

You have no knowledge or education of statistics. The examples are significant.

Add to that an increasingly brazen Democrat base that commits and supports open law-breaking and mob rule, mail in ballots…on such short notice…would only be a further tool of desperation.

If you kill police, you can vote in person.

You have no knowledge or education of statistics. The examples are significant.

No they’re not. If you got some that are, how about you post a link to them?

August 19, 2020 – Trump blasts McConnell over timing of Senate hearing with postmaster general

President Donald Trump blasted Republicans Wednesday on Twitter — tagging Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell in a rare move — for “allowing the Democrats to have ridiculous Post Office hearings on Saturday & Monday, just before and during our Convention” as Democrats revisit questions surrounding the selection process of Trump’s controversial postmaster pick.

Under mounting concerns with mail-in voting and increased scrutiny in recent weeks for enacting a series of measures meant to streamline the Postal Service, Postmaster General Louis DeJoy has agreed to testify at a GOP-controlled Senate hearing on Friday and a Democratic House hearing on Monday — the first day of the Republican National Convention.

“Let them hold them NOW (during their Convention) or after our Convention is over. Always playing right into their hands,” Trump said in a tweet, tagging McConnell.

However, it is Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wisc., who chairs the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, which called on DeJoy to testify after Democrats demanded he do so.

In a statement Tuesday, Johnson said DeJoy “should have an opportunity to describe those realities before going before a hostile House committee determined to conduct a show trial.”

Ahead of the two blockbuster hearings, DeJoy announced Tuesday he will suspend several of the cost-cutting initiatives he made until after the election in an effort “to avoid even the appearance of any impact on election mail.”

Though intended to relieve pressure, the announcement has provoked more transparency questions among Democrats seeking to investigate not only DeJoy’s actions as postmaster but the decision to put him in the position.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said she spoke with DeJoy Wednesday morning and bluntly told him his announcement to temporarily pause operational changes at the Postal Service is “not a solution and is misleading.”

She said in a statement on their call that DeJoy “frankly admitted that he had no intention of replacing the sorting machines, blue mailboxes and other key mail infrastructure that have been removed and that plans for adequate overtime, which is critical for the timely delivery of mail, are not in the works.”

In other words, he doesn’t actually intend to undo any of the pre-election bullshit he’s been up to.

In a letter to DeJoy Wednesday, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer outlined specific questions he hopes DeJoy will answer after warning DeJoy over the phone Tuesday of him imminent request for specific, written information about which policies he intended to suspend.

Questions include whether election mail will be treated as first class mail and whether blue mail boxes and mail sorting equipment that has already been removed will be returned.

Earlier Wednesday, Schumer also sent a letter to the Chairman of the United States Postal Service Board of Directors Robert Duncan, re-upping his ask for disclosure of information related to the selection of DeJoy, a longtime Republican donor.

His letter to Duncan outlines confidentiality claims made by the Postal Service and the search firm used to select DeJoy, called Russell Reynolds, that Schumer said have hindered congressional oversight of the Postal Service and calls for Russell Reynolds to be released from the non-disclosure agreement that they’ve said prohibits them from disclosing information on DeJoy’s selection to Congress.

It also re-ups concerns Schumer has expressed about the role that Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin may have played in DeJoy’s selection.

“The Board’s response was silent on the role White House and Treasury Department officials played in the search process. Recent reports have raised President Trump’s personal obsession with and grievances against the Postal Service and his desire to replace the former Postmaster,” Schumer wrote. “As part of my inquiry, my office learned of the role Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin had with Postal Board of Governors, including through meetings with individual Governors as well as phone calls with groups of Governors, which has not been previously disclosed by the Board.”

Despite Democrats’ concerns about mail-in voting millions of American are relying on amid the pandemic, Trump continued to attack the practice Wednesday, tweeting “IF YOU CAN PROTEST IN PERSON, YOU CAN VOTE IN PERSON” — less than 24 hours ago his Facebook page posted a video of him singing his absentee ballot to Facebook.

His persistence comes as more than 20 state attorneys general are forging ahead with at least two lawsuits against the Trump administration and the U.S. Postal Service, among others, arguing the service broke the law by making operational changes without seeking approval from the Postal Regulatory Commission and that the changes impede on states’ abilities to run free and fair elections.

Pelosi said on Tuesday the House of Representatives will also go ahead with a vote on Saturday on a bill designed to reverse those operational changes DeJoy says he’s now suspending and provide $25 billion in support.

At a briefing Tuesday, White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany said it is a “farce” that there’s an emergency with the Postal Service and accused Pelosi and Democrats of pursuing a “manufactured crisis” by coming back into session over the weekend for the issue.

“This notion that there’s this emergency for which Nancy Pelosi needs to rush back to Capitol Hill to solve is a farce,” McEnany said. “It is false. The real thing that’s happening here is Nancy Pelosi is feeling pressure from her members, from her constituents, because she’s not delivered relief for Americans.”

So, a corrupt president attempting to undermine the submission and delivery mechanism that was essential to include nearly ONE-QUARTER of all presidential election ballots cast in 2016 is not an emergency?

You’re soon going to discover that opinions about that vary.

She said the White House is open to additional funding for the Postal Service and would not put a cap on its number, adding they would be willing to consider the $25 billion proposed by Democrats.

While McEnany railed against what she argued is an unnecessary emergency session this weekend in the House, she also called Pelosi “reckless” and said the White House is waiting for her to “get back and do her job” in reaching a deal for direct payments for Americans, seeking to place full blame on the Democrats for the impasse between the two parties.

Say what, Barbie? You should probably start updating your resumé. You’re going to need a better job description than “lying on behalf of a former U.S. president.”

@Greg: No no. You said the instances were statistically insignificant.

Prove it. I want to see how much you don’t know.

Easy on the sexism, pal. I abandon the left 20 years ago when I saw what was coming:

Racism
Sexism
Poverty

All by clowns like you who claim to be against such things.

And if you were even half as intelligent and compelling as McKenney you might be worth listening to.

I’m afraid you’re just sqwalking.

Disinformation and the whipping up of the mob has toppled many governments and many empires.

Your methods and your dishonor are very old.

I believe in the Constitution and the American people to resist such Marxist idiots like you.

It’s funny, because you really do pride yourself on that veneer of almost making sense. But most of your arguments are flimsy, and dig deeper, they are nothing more than Soviet-grade propaganda.

For the sake of our country and the future of our children, it’s up to the thinking people of the United States to push back the kind of evil then you espouse.

Good luck.

I hope you realize by now that the Democrat electorate is going to kill people on election Day, no matter the outcome.

Our blood will be on your hands.

This is yet another Democrat distraction from the real issue: they have nothing to run and nothing to offer voters in November.

Biden says he’ll..uh…do what Trump is already doing?

And give out free college and income and stuff, the usual “buy votes” routine.

The vast majority of Americans have rejected the Democrats incompetence and incessant lies. We literally have a political party trying to overthrow Constitutional Law, with there own storm troopers.

Blexit, walkaway, all of it.

The Left is in for a ruder awakening then they had in 2020.

Why are they so threatened by the mail? Why would they want to supplant the USPS just in time for a contested ballot count to be done?

Pathetic.

Not on my watch.

@Nathan Blue, #107:

Prove it. I want to see how much you don’t know.

What you don’t seem to know is that when such a claim is made, the burden of proof falls on those who are making it. At least that’s how things work in a world ruled by reason and logic. It’s no one’s obligation to prove that big foot does not exist, otherwise we must all accept that he does.

Simply claiming there’s proof doesn’t cut it. Mike Lindell has been publicly asserting that there are scientific studies demonstrating oleander is effective against COVID-19. There are no such studies. All parts of the oleander plant are highly poisonous. Lindell seems like a nice guy, but he should stick to selling pillows. Pillows are unlikely to kill people.

Trump has produced no evidence that mail-in ballots create a serious risk of widespread voter fraud. Neither has anyone else. I’m far more suspicious of electronic voting machines, which are vulnerable to hacking and have been proven to sometimes malfunction. With mail-in ballots, you’ve got a signature and a paper record.

August 19, 2020 – White House declines to say whether Trump will accept election results if he loses

I’m getting tired of this b.s. It doesn’t actually matter what he says or declines to say. Such talk is nothing more than an indication of his possible detachment from reality.

If a president loses an election he ceases to be President at noon Eastern Standard Time, January 20, and the full power and authority of the office are transferred to whomever our constitutional election process has selected. Donald Trump does not have a lawful option to decline to accept the result. If he attempted to break that law, that would be one broken law too many. What would he do, barricade himself in the Oval Office? Set up a reality TV government out of Mar-a-Lago?

@Greg:

What would he do, barricade himself in the Oval Office? Set up a reality TV government out of Mar-a-Lago?

You really suck up some insane lines and truly internalize them, easy there brother.
There is ample proof that mail in voting is a very very bad idea. It is banned in Europe just for that reason https://www.newsweek.com/voting-fraud-real-concern-just-look-around-world-opinion-1522535
Many countries have tried and got burnt fingers do we have to put our hand in that fire too?
Banning mail-in voting or requiring people to use photo IDs to obtain a mail-in ballot is quite common in developed countries, especially in Europe. Simply look into why they banned it for your answer. You know research and history.

@Greg:

Trump’s actions define him. His words are as real as reality television.

OK. So when, then, did he STOP any state from sending mail in votes? Answer, please… at least ONE of the questions.

Mail in voting IS a fraud-bomb waiting to explode. It’s why Democrats, on the one hand, support the virus-spreading monster of day and night riots but spread fear, on the other hand, that voting in person is to dangerous. Lying to promote fraud.

Nearly one-quarter of the total ballots cast in 2016 were submitted by mail—and 2016 was a presidential election when no one had concerns about a dangerous pandemic.

That and illegal immigrant voting explains Hillary’s popular vote “win”.

There are no meaningful hard examples. The best they have ever come up with are isolated, statistically insignificant instances.

There have been thousands; I, for one, have provided numerous examples. There was a good reason why California refused to cooperate with Trump’s fraud investigation. But how many precincts will turn on a few hundred votes? It doesn’t take much in some states. That’s why Democrats are so desperate to get the opportunity to commit fraud.

Under mounting concerns with mail-in voting and increased scrutiny in recent weeks for enacting a series of measures meant to streamline the Postal Service, Postmaster General Louis DeJoy has agreed to testify at a GOP-controlled Senate hearing on Friday and a Democratic House hearing on Monday

I guess we’ll see how seriously the Democrats take the issue if they actually allow DeJoy to answer any questions or if they just make political propaganda statements, as they did with Barr in the House. Or, if it doesn’t go their way, they’ll just stomp out again.

I’m getting tired of this b.s.

Then why don’t you stop making it up?

@retire05:

But you don’t care as long as your party can cheat.

That is it, in a nutshell. If they can commit enough fraud and cheat enough, they can win. If they don’t win, they can blame mean old Trump, who destroyed the USPS, for their loss. They can’t do anything legitimately.

@kitt: Remember all the times back in the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries, they allowed mail in voting because so many had to travel so far over bad roads to vote? Oh, wait… they never did. And people took the effort to vote. Remember how in some Islamic countries when they finally got the right to vote and terrorists would blow up polling places, so the governments allowed mail-in voting? Oh, wait…. they DIDN’T, and people risked their lives to dip their finger in ink, signifying they voted. This is all nothing but a desperate attempt at fraud. Everyone sees it as so, just some support it.

@Greg:

What you don’t seem to know is that when such a claim is made, the burden of proof falls on those who are making it

Yes. That’s you. You made the claim.

Simply claiming there’s proof doesn’t cut it.

That’s the entirety of about 99% of your assertions, though I think it’s because it’s 99% of the assertions made by your leftwing disinformation outlets, so you’re just a mouthpiece. Everyone knows that.

Transference: Most of us have figured out the Dem platform and their lackeys like greg are merely transferring their own pain of knowing how wrong they are, so they have to accuse their “enemies” of doing what they are plainly doing, on camera.

Evidence of mail-in ballot failure (clear and overwhelming)?
“Trump is tampering with the election.”

Antifa assaults old women?
“Trump is sending in non-police stormtroopers”

Joe Biden has sexual assault allegations?
“Herman Cain is dead because he’s an asshole.”

It’s so rabid and unhinged.

greg, you obviously have “hot-issues” your supposed to scream you’re bullshit at, like the postal service issue.

But the level of abject inefficacy of your arguments, you have to understand you don’t gain one vote by merely carting the corrupt marxist media’s agenda here. I know that’s what the plan is, but you just are gaining votes for Trump.

@Deplorable Me:

That is it, in a nutshell. If they can commit enough fraud and cheat enough, they can win. If they don’t win, they can blame mean old Trump, who destroyed the USPS, for their loss. They can’t do anything legitimately.

I think the Left misunderstands what it looks like when the non-Left, the vast majority, doesn’t respect the outcome of an election.

It’s not going to be whining and rioting.

It will be…something with a bit more conviction.

The DNC supplanted the democratic process in 2016 to favor Hillary over Bernie. They have no issues “replacing” our way of life and government, and that should concern everyone.

@kitt, #110:

Nearly one-quarter of all ballots cast in the 2016 presidential election were submitted by mail. No one was actively promoting the claim that the United States Postal Service was a serious threat to election integrity in 2016.

Trump began pitching this bullshit assertion only a short time ago, when polls revealed that a significantly higher percentage of democrats intended to vote by mail in 2020 than republicans.

The reason more democrats intend to vote by mail—which includes the majority of all absentee ballots—isn’t hard to figure out. Democrats generally accept that COVID-19 is not some sort of political hoax; consequently they’re generally doing a better job of following the protocol experts advocate for keeping oneself and others safer from infection, and for bringing the pandemic under control. They’re a lot more likely to wear masks and to avoid crowded places that are more conducive to spread of the virus. That includes polling places.

@Greg:

The reason more democrats intend to vote by mail—which includes the majority of all absentee ballots—is fairly obvious. Democrats generally accept that COVID-19 is not a hoax, and are generally doing a better job of following the protocol experts advocate for keeping oneself and others safer from infection, and reducing community spread to bring the pandemic under control.

Yeah…………….right.

Because everyone know that all those protesters who gather every night to burn, loot and murder are clearly Republican voters.

And of course, there is the “panic” reporting done on the alphabet networks that have lefties convince that even if they are under 50, have no comorbidity issues and use common sense, they could die from the Chi-Com flu. But then, they could also die from being stuck by lightening, so there’s that.

@Deplorable Me, #111:

OK. So when, then, did he STOP any state from sending mail in votes? Answer, please… at least ONE of the questions.

He CAN’T do that—which is the reason his toady Louis DeJoy suddenly decided that the middle of a pandemic and weeks before an election was the ideal moment to drastically cut postal overtime, mothball high-speed automated mail sorting equipment, remove public mailboxes from their long-time locations, cut front desk hours and personnel at local post offices, and force letter carriers to spend far more time inefficiently walking their routes by limiting them to no more than 4 postal vehicle delivery stops per delivery shift.

This bullshit coincides with a surge in demand for postal delivery of essential items purchased online that has already resulted from the pandemic.

People were able to quickly figure out what they were up to because people are generally not stupid. This was undertaken after polls revealed far more democrats than republicans were likely to vote by mail—which includes the submission of a majority of all absentee ballots. The USPS delivered nearly one-quarter of all ballots cast in 2016.

@Greg:

Nearly one-quarter of all ballots cast in the 2016 presidential election were submitted by mail

So what? Those ballots are not part of a quick and politically motivated push to have mail in voting by police-killing *ssholes who can beat up old ladies, but can’t vote a booth.

Dismissed.

Dems can’t win the election unless they cheat.

Requiring a minimum life skill of actually voting on the election day, by having your ID and traveling a short distance, is not voter suppression.

Making it too easy to vote is tyranny, because you can just indoctrinate people via media, schools, and entertainment to engineer a tyrannical majority of non-thinkers…who can’t then evolve, because by then, the marxists have taken over.

Not on my watch.

Just win the election the old-fashioned way: field a good candidate on a good platform.

@Greg:

which is the reason his toady Louis DeJoy suddenly decided that the middle of a pandemic predicted to increase the already-extensive use of mail-in ballots was an ideal time to drastically cut postal employee overtime

Actually, it was a process that would expedite delivery instead of having mail carries wait until the afternoon mail came in to make the days delivery. So what if you get your credit card bill a day later. Oh, that’s right…you don’t use credit cards.

, mothball high-speed automated mail sorting equipment,

Guess you didn’t read the USPS IG report from 2015 that shows, due to the decreased volume in letter sized mail, sorting equipment had been being moved or “mothballed” for quite a while.

remove public mailboxes from their long-time locations,

Only a left wing nut would think it was financially viable to have public mailboxes on streets where only a dozen or less pieces of mail was deposited in a week. But then, you leftists do love to spend OPM.

cut front desk hours and personnel at local post offices,

Done in my town under Obama.

and force letter carriers to spend far more time inefficiently walking their routes by limiting them to no more than 4 postal vehicle delivery stops per route.

Why not require city residents to get a post office box? Then they could pick up their mail whenever it is convenient. Us here is flyover country stopped getting mail delivered to a box by the front door long ago. We ALL have to have a mail box on a post at the street.

You complain about the national debt all the time but squawk when something is done to make an agency more efficient.

@Nathan Blue:

Comrade Greggie is afraid the ballots won’t be sent back in time due to the high volume. Guess he doesn’t realize that the USPS handles more volume during Christmas (you know, like Christmas cards?) than it would during an election..

In 2016 the post office delivered nearly one-quarter of all submitted ballots. This year there’s good reason to expect that percentage will be even higher.

Recent polls indicated that Democratic voters are far more likely to vote by mail than Republican voters.

After the poll results came out, and weeks ahead of the election, DeJoy suddenly issued multiple directives that will quickly reduce the speed and efficiency of mail pickup, sorting, and delivery. He did this at a time when the mail volume was already increasing due to huge increases in online shopping.

What this means about the Trump administration’s motives should be totally obvious. Any person of reasonable intelligence ought to be able to figure it out. I imagine that most will.

Then again, some people never do figure things out…

From FOX News, updated minutes ago: Steve Bannon, ‘We Build the Wall’ organizers arrested, charged with defrauding donors

Hey… It’s probably false news. Just another part of Obama’s evil Deep State conspiracy.

@Greg: That’s old news, idiot.

It’s also not going to stop the Trump landslide.

Sorry, bubby.

@Greg:

DeJoy suddenly issued multiple directives that will quickly reduce the speed and efficiency of mail pickup, sorting, and delivery. He did this at a time when the mail volume was already increasing due to huge increases in online shopping.

Packages cannot be sorted by the kind of machines he wanted to consolidate. He also delayed the changes shut up the Crybaby Whiny Socialist Democrats.

What this means about the Trump administration’s motives should be totally obvious. Any person of reasonable intelligence ought to be able to figure it out. I imagine that most will

Well, if it takes someone of reasonable intelligence to figure out what Trump is doing, that eliminates you, Comrade Greggie.

@Nathan Blue, #122:

That’s old news, idiot.

Bannon was indicted and arrested at 7:15 Eastern Standard Time this morning, August 20th. Are you suggesting that Trump supporters knew he was a crook all along?

@retire05, #123:

Packages cannot be sorted by the kind of machines he wanted to consolidate.

Are you under the impression that there’s a separate USPS Department of Packages that’s totally unaffected by backlogs in the sorting and delivery of flat mail? Maybe they also have separate package delivery trucks and small-box carriers roaming the neighborhood.

@Greg: You posted that about 8 hours after, as if it were breaking news.

You were behind, and you didn’t even realize it.

As always…

@Greg:

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll sponsored by Liberty Nation for Thursday shows that 51% of Likely U.S. Voters approve of President Trump’s job performance. Forty-eight percent (48%) disapprove.

The latest figures include 38% who Strongly Approve of the job Trump is doing and 41% who Strongly Disapprove. This gives him a Presidential Approval Index rating of -3.

Oh, but it’s not favoring the Left, so it’s not credible, right?

Nate Silver didn’t say it, so…
(no, I don’t think Trump has a 51% approval rating. I think it’s more like 70% plus, actually)

The silliness from the Dems/Leftists is pissing people off.

Rasmussen presently has Biden 4 points ahead of Trump in the General Election Poll, and their results are among those most favorable to Trump.

This isn’t 2016. Nobody is going to split the votes of the Democratic turnout. Nobody is taking Trump’s defeat for granted.

The harris-biden ticket has not had a bump from their lunatic convention. Hating President Trump is not a winning platform.

@Greg: Hehe.

As I said, these polls are meaningless to me… Even when they favor Trump.

I already know he’s going to win with a massive majority of the votes.

The idea that Biden has more support, approval, or enthusiasm is a total farce.

The Democratic Party has a platform: 2020 Democratic Party Platform

@Greg:

This isn’t 2016.

It’s also not 1964, but the Democrats are pretending that they’re fighting a form of Jim Crow that they themselves invented.

Not a platform for America. The democrat party hate America and Americans

August 20, 2020 – Thousands of chicks arrive dead to farmers in Maine amid USPS turmoil

PORTLAND, Maine — At least 4,800 chicks shipped to Maine farmers through the U.S. Postal Service have arrived dead in the recent weeks since rapid cuts hit the federal mail carrier’s operations, U.S. Rep. Chellie Pingree said.

Pingree, a Maine Democrat, is raising the issue of the dead chicks and the losses farms are facing in a letter to Postmaster General Louis DeJoy and U.S. Department of Agriculture Commissioner Sonny Perdue, The Portland Press Herald reported Wednesday.

Pauline Henderson, who owns Pine Tree Poultry in New Sharon, Maine, told the newspaper she was shocked last week when all of the 800 chicks sent to her from a hatchery in Pennsylvania were dead.

“Usually they arrive every three weeks like clockwork,” she said. “And out of 100 birds you may have one or two that die in shipping.”

Henderson told the newspaper thousands of birds that moved through the Postal Service’s processing center in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, were also dead, impacting several farms in Maine and New Hampshire.

The Postal Service’s media contact for the Eastern U.S. did not immediately return a Press Herald reporter’s message Wednesday.

“It’s one more of the consequences of this disorganization, this sort of chaos they’ve created at the post office and nobody thought through when they were thinking of slowing down the mail,” Pingree said, adding that her office has received dozens of complaints from farmers and others trying to raise a small flock of chickens in the backyard.

“And can you imagine, you have young kids and they are getting all excited about having a backyard flock and you go to the post office and that’s what you find?”

Pingree said she isn’t sure if Perdue is aware of how the changes in the Postal Service are impacting smaller poultry farmers in the U.S.

“This is a system that’s always worked before and it’s worked very well until these changes started being made,” Pingree said.

DeJoy, a Republican donor who’s the first postmaster general who did not come from the ranks of the Postal Service, took control of the agency in June and has since swiftly engineered cuts and operational changes that are disrupting mail delivery operations.

Yep. It took him less than two months to screw things up. He couldn’t have made a quicker job if he’d—uh—been trying.

He announced Tuesday he would halt some changes to mail delivery that critics blamed for widespread delays and warned could disrupt the November election, which is expected to bring a surge of mail-in ballots because of the coronavirus pandemic.

That’s halt, not undo. He told Pelosi that he has no intention of reversing what’s already been done.

DeJoy is scheduled to testify before the Senate on Friday.

President Donald Trump made clear last week that he was blocking $25 billion in emergency aid to the Postal Service, acknowledging he wanted to curtail election mail operations, as well as a Democratic proposal to provide $3.6 billion in additional election money to the states to help process mail-in ballots.

Next up: Vets ask, I’m out of necessary medicine. What happened to my refills?

@Greg: When the best part of the DNC is a standard partisan screed from a former First Lady, you know the election is already over.

@Greg:

Next up: Vets ask, I’m out of necessary medicine. What happened to my refills?

Vet: “At least I’m not dead fighting more endless wars. Thank you, President Trump, for using economics and business savvy to beat our enemies.”

Vets and cops, pulling the level for Trump.

@Greg:

He CAN’T do that—

Yeah… that’s the point. So why say he says one thing and does another? He has bone no such thing.

You do know the downsizing was begun under Obama… right? So, what was that rascal up to?

Recent polls indicated that Democratic voters are far more likely to

That’s because they are inherently lazy and don’t have to worry about fraud. Duh.

This isn’t 2016. Nobody is going to split the votes of the Democratic turnout.

You are whistling past the graveyard. Did you happen to catch AOC’s speech? Muslims are offended because the DNC is distancing from the anti-Semites. The Squad hates the DNC platform. And NO Democrat will denounce the left wing terrorism, which turns off anyone moderate you might have left.

I see your Steve Bannon and raise you Uranium One/emails/Benghazi Hillary, rapist/extortion Biden and seditious Obama.

@Greg: Two things:

1. Covid has killed millions of livestock animals, due to disruptions in supply chains. To blame Trump is just partisan rhetoric, and easily dismissed.

2. Your petty rants will not change one vote. Not one. If you’re goal is to somehow “spread the word” about your Marxist goals and silence the opposition, you failed at that a long time ago.

Monday morning quarterbacking never won and election.

Haven’t you figured out what he’s up to yet? Or do you just not care?

August 21, 2020 – Trump Warns Mail-in Ballot “Catastrophe” Could Invalidate Election: Nancy Pelosi Could Become President

President Trump spoke about universal mail-in voting Friday at the meeting of the conservative “Council for National Policy,” warning that it could be a “tremendous disaster for our country… This is a very, very serious problem and something has to be done about it.”

“They’re being sent, almost as we speak,” he said about the ballots. “You’ll have double voting where they’ll send in a ballot and then they’ll go vote. What are the chances some state is going to be able to catch this? I say this to the media, this could be one of the greatest catastrophes in the history of our country.”

“The damage will echo for generations, and we may never, ever escape from the damage that will be infected if the radical left takes over the presidency,” Trump said.

This from the guy who lost the 2016 popular election by nearly 3 million votes and is now running on a record that includes an impeachment, multiple campaign and administration figures convicted of felonies, an out-of-control COVID-19 pandemic, over 20 million lost jobs, a 33 percent dive in the annual GDP, widespread civil unrest, and a one-year federal deficit approaching $4 TRILLION…

Explainer: Fraud is rare in U.S. mail-in voting. Here are the methods that prevent it

The conservative Heritage Foundation, which has warned of the risks of mail voting, found 14 cases of attempted mail fraud out of roughly 15.5 million ballots cast in Oregon since that state started conducting elections by mail in 1998.

Only 14 cases, out of 15.5 million ballots cast over a period of 22 years…

@Greg: Yeah, he’s up to being a leader, something we never saw in the last administration.

Maybe you should pay closer attention. Democrats have been aware of Joe Biden’s public service for the past 48 years. He was never at the center of any scandals until Trump’s lackeys invented one as a foil against Donald Trump’s effort to extort political favors from the government of Ukraine.

Trump is a corrupt elected official. This is nothing more than a reflection of his underlying character. If he needs to lie and cheat to reach his goal, whatever it might be, that’s precisely what he’ll do, with no compunction whatsoever. The only thing he would ever regret is being caught, and he has no problem with that either provided he can avoid any serious personal consequences. He imagines everyone else is either the same, or a sucker.

@Greg:

Maybe you should pay closer attention. Democrats have been aware of Joe Biden’s public service for the past 48 years.

Where have YOU been? Plus, keep in mind, Democrats have no principles. All they care about is power.

@Deplorable Me:

Where have YOU been? Plus, keep in mind, Democrats have no principles. All they care about is power.

At this point, the common goal for the common good is the ejection of Donald Trump from the Oval Office—and Democrats aren’t the only voters who have come to understand the utter necessity of that. Independents and many moderate Republicans have come to the same conclusion, and in increasing numbers are publicly saying so.

Trump’s only hope of remaining in office is to somehow screw up the election process. DeJoy is one of his tools to that end. His calculated sabotage of the USPS is obvious. He doesn’t even care that they’re obvious.

@Greg: Trump wins in a landslide, Greg. The Hispanic and black votes will be the shocker. By the way, I hear there are plenty of vacancies in all those Democrat-run cities that are cheap and just waiting for new occupants! The only hard part is setting up a mover, they are soooo busy!

@Greg:

Democrats have been aware of Joe Biden’s public service for the past 48 years.

Really? So why don’t you list all those wonderful bills that Bargain Basement Joe Biden authored and got passed that made our lives so much better? I’m sure the list will be long but you’ve already shown you’re not adverse to extensive posts.

He was never at the center of any scandals until Trump’s lackeys invented one as a foil against Donald Trump’s effort to extort political favors from the government of Ukraine.

You constantly call Trump a liar. It is curious that you never mention the encyclopedic list of lies told by Bargain Basement Joe. Why is that, Comrade Greggie? Are you saying it is wrong for Trump to lie but not Bargain Basement Joe? And you seem to want to ignore the documented scandals of Bargain Basement Joe. One that actually cost him a shot at the Oval Office in years past

So, tell us exactly what it is that Bargain Basement Joe intends to do if he takes the election other than pander to the poverty pimps that hate white people?

@Greg: @Greg:

Trump’s only hope of remaining in office is to somehow screw up the election process.

That will be your party’s excuse when they lose, using the USPS to stage another witch hunt to stir up hate and division for another 4 years.

Why can’t you just run a good candidate, on a good platform? I’d vote Democrat if you did.

Did you hear me, you silly little Chinese troll? I’D VOTE DEMOCRAT IF THERE WAS SOMEONE AND SOMETHING WORTH VOTING FOR!!!!!!

The common good is defeating Democrats in their crusade to topple our government and replace it with something a bit more…marxist.

Not on my watch.

Trump is going to declare victory based on a substantial lead in the election day count of ballots cast at the polling places, and then claim the Biden victory as all of the mailed absentee votes are tallied over the next few days is a result of voter fraud. He’s been laying the groundwork for this for weeks now. This is what his incessant bullshit claims about mailed ballots—which normally represent the majority of all absentee votes cast—has been about. It’s what DeJoy’s bullshit with USPS overtime elimination, route delivery restrictions, and the removal of automated mail sorting machines has been about, and it’s what bullshit like the nearly-successful republican effort to delay absentee ballot mailing in Wisconsin until they missed the legal deadline was all about.

All votes will be counted, and if Trump loses the election when the full count is in he will leave the White House in January. If he has to be escorted out by the Secret Service in handcuffs, so be it.

Refusal to step down after losing the election would be nothing less than an attempted overthrow of our nation’s constitutional system of government. If he tried that, his dysfunctional reality TV show would be canceled by any means necessary.

I see idiot Comrade Greggie is pimping the left wing talking points again. Too stupid to do his own research, I suppose. Bet he doesn’t even know how mail-in ballots are counted in his own state or county.

Here is the process in my state and county: mail in ballots must be postmarked no later than the day of election. As those ballots come in (before election day) the Early Voting Ballot Board verifies the signatures of the envelope the ballot is in against what is on the voter’s registration application. If a match, it goes into a pile to be opened on election day. If not a match, it is discounted. The EVBB consists of an equal number of Democrats and Republican.

On election day, after the last mail delivery to the Election Administrator’s office, the envelopes are then opened and the ballots are counted. The “early” vote tally is not reported until the polls close at 7:00 PM.

Any ballots that come in after election day are 1) checked for the post mark date and 2) if allowable, then the EVBB is called back in to verify signatures and have the legal ballots counted.

Vote mining is illegal in my state. As it should be everywhere, but the Dems are trying to make a rule saying vote mining is A-OK. They also want to eliminate signature verification.

Now who is trying to throw a Presidential election? It damn sure ain’t the Republicans.

@retire05:

I did not know mail in ballots were available in china.
