The left wing media continues to give us good reasons to hate them

You cannot help but wonder when it happened.

When did the media completely abandon its principles? You can’t go for long without being reminded of the reasons Americans have grown to hate them. An incident at the recent Army Navy football game captured this in microcosm.

Cadets and Midshipmen were seen flashing a hand sign during a segment

As soon as it was seen by the left wing media they sprang into outrage mode without a single question.:

democrat legislators also found the need to participate in the outrage

There was just one little problem. It wasn’t a white power symbol.

It was part of a “circle game.”

West Point cadets and Naval Academy midshipmen accused of flashing a “white power”-linked hand sign on television last week were instead playing a popular prank among teenagers known as the “circle game,” military officials said Friday.

After an internal investigation launched against the cadets and midshipmen — who were seen flashing the “OK” hand symbol during a Dec. 14 ESPN broadcast before the annual Army-Navy football game — the U.S. Military Academy found that “the intent was not associated with ideologies or movements that are contrary to the Army values.”

“We investigated this matter thoroughly,” U.S. Military Academy Superintendent Lt. Gen. Darryl Williams said in a statement.

“Last Saturday we had reason to believe these actions were an innocent game and not linked to extremism, but we must take allegations such as these very seriously. We are disappointed by the immature behavior of the cadets,” Williams said.

The U.S. Naval Academy, which completed its own investigation into the hand gestures by two of its midshipmen, made a similar determination.

“The investigation found no evidence of racist intent,” Naval Academy Superintendent Vice Adm. Sean Buck said in a service statement.

“The Naval Academy is fully committed to preparing young men and women to become professional officers of competence, character, and compassion in the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps; in this case, we recognize there is more work to be done,” Buck said.

The hand signs were captured as ESPN anchor Reece Davis talked about the rivalry while surrounded by a group of students, some flashing the “OK” hand symbol.

This is another version of the Convington Catholic/ Nicholas Sandmann incident. You’d think they might have learned.

Sadly, no.

They’re still idiots. There is this terrible lust to be the first to report, the first to display outrage, the first to demand accountability (all wrongly) that they have stopped asking questions like “Is this accurate? Is is it true? Is there another explanation?”

We’ve seen a million things reported that look weird. Many of us get emails in which some letter or story is attributed to someone and you know that person didn’t say or write it. I always plead with my friends not to re-transmit or retweet anything that does not have a legitimate link to what is being asserted.

But the media?

Good God, they should live by some kind of journalistic standard and yet they do not. Shoddy is a not standard for which to strive.

What harm would it have caused to do a little digging and hesitate to put microphones in front of ignorant firebrands especially anxious to smear anyone who could by any number of degrees of Kevin Bacon be connected to Donald Trump.

This is another yuge black eye for the media. They keep giving us good reasons to disbelieve and really, really dislike them.  This absolutely was #fakenews. A sane person, a principled person would be embarrassed, admit the error and stop repeating the mistakes.

Still waiting on the apologies.

Demosthenes, in his work De False Legationenoted: “stop the tongue, block up the mouth, choke people, and make them silent. the media today is no different than the 4th Century BCE

@ByMikeBrehm of @usatodaysports trying to ruin the lives of cadets for playing the circle game, because in some alternate reality they just MUST be white supremacists. At some point someone’s gotta bring a defamation case against these lunatics.

USA Today’s Mike Brehm reported:

Questions erupted during the Army-Navy game in Philadelphia when students appeared to make the White Power hand symbol during a pregame broadcast.

Spokespersons from the U.S. Military Academy and the U.S. Naval Academy told USA TODAY Sports they have been made aware of the issue – which blossomed on social media as the game wore on – and the schools are looking into it.

So, a symbol used by Lefties and blacks of all sorts, is suddenly a “white power symbol when Navy cadets use it.
Odd how Nancy P still has her job….she did it.
Odd how Hillary and Bill are stil icons of the nation…..they did it.
Odd how the Obama’s did it and are still looked up to.

The courts have decided in the Covington teen’s side after he was falsely accused of racism against an injun.
Maybe the courts could decide in favor of a few SLANDERED Navy cadets.

This is another version of the Convington Catholic/ Nicholas Sandmann incident. You’d think they might have learned.

Hell, they’re not going to learn just because WE see how stupid they are! There target audience are too stupid to realize how they are being made fools of.

Good God, they should live by some kind of journalistic standard and yet they do not. Shoddy is a not standard for which to strive.

Unfortunately, these are the people who are supposed to be holding the nation responsible for its actions. But, who holds them accountable? Well, We the People, and little by little, we are. CNN, MSNBC and the other networks are relegated to preaching to their ever-shrinking choirs. This is evident by Trump’s popularity rising even as the outlets spread 95% negative coverage of his tremendous economic and foreign policy successes.

My two brothers and I used to play this game, maybe 60 years ago. If you look at the circle (it must be below the waist) you get punched. However, if you can put your finger in the circle without looking at it, YOU get to punch THEM (that was our rule, anyway). We got away with being white supremacists.

But, aside from that, I must insist no one ever use the word “cracker” ever again. Not even as any part of a word. I’ve heard some racists have been using that as a racial slur and I must insist that anyone using the word, even out of ignorance of my point of view, be deemed a racist.

I wish the white supremacists were smart enough to figure this out and adopt something like the rainbow flag or the ANTIFA flag as one of their symbols. Imagine the fun.

@Nan G: Keep in mind, the left HATES the military anyway. They need little motivation to deem them racists.

with 3 fingers pointed down, forming the letter “M” it could mean Mexican Power or Muslim Power. Naturally, neither one of them would be considered “racist” at all.

@greg: Look its MB, in that position, why did they leap to such conclusions about these young people? Why must they live to destroy people, even those they dont know anything about?
They surely know by now the standard OK signal as White power was an internet hoax.

@greg: Liberals think they can redefine anything to suit their agenda then force mass conformity. Instead, they merely expose their own stupidity. No, you haven’t learned a thing from your ill-fated attack on the Covington children.

As for when the media began to lie, well, before the internet you pretty much had to be involved in the event to see how the press would lie.
They never really “began” to lie, it’s always been a part of journalism.
