Robert Mueller may be teeing up Adam Schiff

New comes today that Robert Mueller will allegedly be finishing up the Russia investigation very soon.

Washington (CNN)Attorney General Bill Barr is preparing to announce as early as next week the completion of Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation, with plans for Barr to submit to Congress soon after a summary of Mueller’s confidential report, according to people familiar with the plans.

The preparations are the clearest indication yet that Mueller is nearly done with his almost two-year investigation.

The precise timing of the announcement is subject to change.

The scope and contours of what Barr will send to Congress remain unclear. Also unclear is how long it will take Justice officials to prepare what will be submitted to lawmakers.

But with President Donald Trump soon to travel overseas for a summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, Justice officials are mindful of not interfering with the White House’s diplomatic efforts, which could impact the timing.

The Justice Department and the special counsel’s office declined to comment.

The report does not necessarily have to made public:

Under the special counsel regulations, Mueller must submit a “confidential” report to the attorney general at the conclusion of his work, but the rules don’t require it to be shared with Congress, or by extension, the public. And, as Barr has made clear, the Justice Department generally guards against publicizing “derogatory” information about uncharged individuals.

As have others, James Clapper intimates that the report might be anti-climactic:

He said he was hopeful the Mueller probe will provide some answers, but warned it might not even draw a conclusion on whether there was collusion between the Trump campaign and Moscow.

“I think the hope is that the Mueller investigation will clear the air on this issue once and for all. I’m really not sure it will, and the investigation, when completed, could turn out to be quite anti-climactic and not draw a conclusion about that,” Clapper said Wednesday on CNN.

That would be rather derelict and would prove the investigation to be galactic waste of time and money.

Clapper, a frequent critic of Trump’s, said people in the intelligence community see a strange deference on the president’s part toward Russian President Vladimir Putin. “The strange thing I think that has bothered a lot of people both in and out of the intelligence community is this strange personal deference to Putin by the president. I’ve speculated in the past that the way Putin behaves is to treat President Trump as an asset,” Clapper said Wednesday.

That’s pretty damned selective. When obama came into office one of his early actions was to placate Vladimir Putin. Then in 2012, when he thought he was off-record, obama promised to be more “flexible” for Putin. Why this wasn’t seen as a “strange deference” to Putin and why it didn’t cause Clapper or Mueller or anyone else in the IC to wonder if obama was a Russian asset is something that needs clarification.

The Mueller investigation was supposedly an investigation into the existence of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia. If it doesn’t, Mueller could be seen as teeing up Adam Schiff, who has vowed to carry on his quixotic quest for evidence of collusion. Not coming to any conclusion would be exactly what Schiff would want and make his efforts look a little less like what they are- a witch hunt designed to cripple Trump’s Presidency and re-election. In reality Schiff has nothing but smear and innuendo. I’ve said it a million times- if they had anything more they would have leaked it long ago.

I am wondering how CNN, who were apparently tipped off by Mueller’s team to Roger Stone’s arrest, scored this scoop as well.

Oh nice the Mueller report finds nothing so they all say “Hey sorry bout that, lets work together and see how we can work for the taxpayers and make things better!”
Smooch smooch huggs and all better now…..A diet coke and a smile.

Thats going to happen right? Right?

He said he was hopeful the Mueller probe will provide some answers, but warned it might not even draw a conclusion on whether there was collusion between the Trump campaign and Moscow.

Now, you don’t reckon some fellow coupsters like Clapper have gotten a sample tasting of the big conclusion? Sounds as if he has and is preparing the frothing masses for the big let-down?

More than likely the report will document all the nasty naughties that surrounded Trump and the “crimes” of doing business as usual in Washington and abroad but, alas, the worst we could find on Trump was in the liberal imagination.

Why this wasn’t seen as a “strange deference” to Putin and why it didn’t cause Clapper or Mueller or anyone else in the IC to wonder if obama was a Russian asset is something that needs clarification.

Don’t forget, Obama once told Putin to “cut it out”. Of course, then he showed what he meant by “flexible” when he lowered the shields and allowed Putin to interfere in the 2016 election…. if it WAS the Russians.

I am wondering how CNN, who were apparently tipped off by Mueller’s team to Roger Stone’s arrest, scored this scoop as well.

No doubt anyone that is willing to strategically place leaks at the opportune moments.

If Trump is “pro-Russia” why on earth did he allow “drill, baby, drill,” to lower the price of natural gas, thereby destroying the Russian economy?
More likely Trump’s opponents, starting with Hillary, saw his claim that it was better to talk than fight with our enemies.
While these enemies have done far more than merely talk with Russia, they couldn’t stand the idea of Trump doing the same.
His talking with Russia could lead to Russia outing their own bad collusion with Russian leaders.
Like Hillary’s uranium sale.
Like Obama’s leading-from-behind strategy that allowed Russia room for expansion.

@Nan G: Just a quick “Google Translate” translates “reset” to “сброс” in Russian. Gosh, that was hard. No doubt the Russians realized how much effort Hillary put into her little “button” gimmick.

Liberals have no idea how to negotiate or diplomacy. They either want everything their way or they give everything away to get some semblance of a deal. So, not only do they not understand what Trump is doing until the results are revealed, they fear any success of his will hurt their future access to power.

Their idea of negotiating is to just agree upon their spheres of influence, dividing up the spoils. Trump is looking for the best deal for the United States and its citizens and shows Putin how nice it would be to be agreeable while inflicting economic pain on his country to show the consequences of cross the US. He’s doing the same with Kim, providing a glowing picture of what it would be like to accept denuclearization while maintaining the sanctions until he gives up something.

The left doesn’t understand anything but everything their way or surrender. They can use that effectively with Republicans, never having to surrender, but it doesn’t work so well beyond our borders.
