The criticism of Obama’s foreign policy is not only that it was utopian, self-righteous, and naïve, though it was all that and more. Rather, it assumed that nations were not collections of people with predictable and all too human aspirations and behaviors. When the Obama administration discovered that tragic human nature still governed foreign policy, it objected petulantly, insisting that an American messiah had come into the world to save it. As part of the negotiations brokered by U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry, Abbas demanded the release of Palestinian terrorist operatives holding Israeli citizenship. He uses that claim, however, to hide his true intentions. The truth, however, is that what President Mahmoud Abbas is really planning to establish is a Palestinian state between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea, by flooding the State of Israel with Muslim Palestinians as part of the so-called “return” of the Palestinian refugees. He does not want an Israel next door to the Palestinian state, and therefore refuses to recognize it as the national homeland of the Jews.
Launching missiles into Israel would become even easier than it is now. The UN, established with noble goals but has deteriorated into a sniveling body inculcated with politics and political correctness. As Bill Jacobson points out, the bottom line to the UN resolution is to encourage a blacklisting of Israeli companies.
It’s time for US to dump the UN.
The UN is nothing more than part of the One World Order progressive vision and the most likely vehicle to carry it out. The US spends about $8 billion per year on the UN. That money could be better spent. As of 2014, diplomats had racked up $16 million in unpaid parking tickets. Their disregard for the US and its laws is appalling. The UN should move to somewhere more in need of its presence- somewhere where it can really be appreciated.
