Angela Merkel clearly missed the Santayana section of Literatur Eine Null Eine. I have a relative who works for a German bank in the States. I’m told that the Germans remain so stigmatized by Holocaust thing that they are paralyzed by events occurring now, i.e. “rapefugees” running amuck across Germany. In its paralysis, the German government has fallen onto one of its old bad habits- persecution. Germany again is persecuting its citizens. They are being deprived of their rights. The first sentence in the German Constitution guarantees this:
“Human dignity is inviolable.”
Apparently, that no longer applies to German citizens, specifically women. Persecution is the systematic mistreatment of an individual or group by another individual or group. Angela Merkel, aka Merkel the Jerkel, is now orchestrating the new State persecution of German women by ignoring their victimization by Merkel’s beloved “migrants.” “How bad is it?” you ask. It’s bad. Really bad. Police fear a gang-rape phenomenon known as ‘taharrush gamea’ in the Arab world and seen in attacks on women across German cities at the New Year has now spread to Europe.
The name of the practice translates to ‘collective harassment’ and is carried out by large groups of men who sexually assault lone women, either by groping, or in some instances, raping them.
The men first surround their victim in circles. Some then sexually assault her, while others not directly involved watch or divert outsiders’ attention to what is occurring.
Sometimes the terrified victim – in a state of shock and unable to respond – is also robbed during the ordeal.
And the attack usually goes unpunished because the large number of perpetrators and chaos of the attack means authorities are unable to identify those involved.
Germany is becoming a sexual war zone with New Year’s Eve in Cologne being a free for all:

Whether they were working as a single group or in separate gangs remains unclear. Women reported being tightly surrounded by groups of men who harassed and mugged them. Some people threw fireworks into the crowds, adding to the chaos. “Sexual crimes took place on a huge scale,” said the police president, Wolfgang Albers. “The crimes were committed by a group of people who from appearance were largely from the north African or Arab world.”
Islam belongs to Germany says Merkel, but Merkel says she’s “outraged” by the attacks and promises action:
The German chancellor, Angela Merkel, called Reker to express her outrage, according to a statement from her office. She called for authorities to find the perpetrators as “quickly and comprehensively as possible and to punish them without regard to their origin or background.”
Heaven knows how she’s going to do that. Police are ordered to misreport incidents to suppress outrage
The officer told the paper the public do not get an accurate idea of what is really happening in the migrant crime wave, because events are mis-reported by police to prevent outrage. He said: “should an asylum seeker cut another’s throat. In the report we would state it was grievous bodily harm rather than attempted murder. It looks better in the statistics”.
They are also forbidden from detaining the refugees:
Most remarkable in the report of Bernd of conditions on the frontier were the crippling orders he was under duty to follow, even if they made his job near impossible: “If a refugee wants to escape our control, we can’t even detain him. This is dictated from above. To do so would be physical violence”.
The magnitude of these crimes is being covered up. Now Merkel has ordered the destruction of physical evidence that’s needed to punish anyone and the “refugees” know it

As tensions rise, Merkel has decided to take action- against Germans. Hundreds of those who have become exasperated at the lack of law enforcement and protested found themselves instead arrested. I agree with Ross Douthat.
If you believe that an aging, secularized, heretofore-mostly-homogeneous society is likely to peacefully absorb a migration of that size and scale of cultural difference, then you have a bright future as a spokesman for the current German government.
You’re also a fool. Such a transformation promises increasing polarization among natives and new arrivals alike. It threatens not just a spike in terrorism but a rebirth of 1930s-style political violence. The still-imaginary France Michel Houellebecq conjured up in his novel “Submission,” in which nativists and Islamists brawl in the streets, would have a very good chance of being realized in the German future.
Merkel’s got to go. And soon.
