The overwhelming sense of superiority some in the press feel toward the Palins simply clouds their better judgment. Costello would surely see the error of her ways if she were to read her disparate reactions to these two strikingly similar events, but, in the heat of the moment, she did not see Sarah Palin’s daughter as a women who had endured a physical assault; she saw her as a caricature worthy of mockery.
In an appearance on MSNBC on Thursday morning, Lewis joined a group of contrite Morning Joe hosts who conceded that they, too, initially covered the Palin “brawl” as a joke. “It did definitely have a humorous tone to it,” Brzezinski conceded. Lewis had shamed them into penitence.
“What happened to her is horrific, and I don’t think we should be joking about it,” Lewis said to the somber nods of his interlocutors.
Rothman runs through some clips of mainstream newscasters who found the Palin assault humorous and were shamefully derisive in covering the story.
Bristol Palin has now come out and expressed her side of what happened:
First, the media said Trig was not really my mom’s kid.
Then, they claimed my mom said “I can see Russia from my house.”
Recently, they said my parents are giving a divorce.
And now, they’re saying my family started a “drunken brawl.”
Most of the time, I let the lies pass. After all, the truth eventually comes out. But when people are selling “scoop,” photos, and false information… sometimes the truth just isn’t as profitable.
That’s why, after a month and a half of hearing rumors about myself and family, I’ve finally decided to comment about the situation. Instead of listening to all the people who weren’t there — people who claim they heard this from their cousin/brother/sister-in-law/step-daughter/long lost little brother – let me tell you what actually happened.

Shameful. Just shameful. I’m not a huge fan of Sarah Palin politically but the deranged ramblings of her opponents are as mind numbingly delusional as they claim she is.
The Left hates Sarah Palin with a hideous passion because she is a highly intelligent, articulate woman who happens to be conservative. This could not be allowed. She has been so thoroughly hounded with frivolous lawsuits, stalked by leftist psychos, and had her character completely assassinated by false news stories that she is now politically unviable. They have succeeded in neutralizing her.
Remember, just six years ago she was one of the most popular political figures in America. As the vice-presidential nominee, she was the primary reason many people voted for McCain for president. And they were ahead in the polls just before $500 billion mysteriously disappeared from money market funds in October, crashing the market and putting Obama on top to stay. Quite fortunate for the Dems, and disasterous for Palin, who was made the scapegoat for the election loss.
The Democrats are desperate to talk about anything except 0-blama and his failed policies during this election route!!
Charitably assuming this alleged fear of Palin ever existed, what precisely is there to fear today? She has pretty much conceded any chances at the WH as she’s obviously chose the money path rather than hone her desperately needed presidential credentials.
I will concede that it was a rearful thought that someone of such intelectual defecency was that close to being the leader of the greastest nation on God’s green earth (I realize that opens the door for some Obama bashing which is the default rebutal for every shortcoming of today’s so-called conservatives) but again, that scare no longer exist.

Obama: Community organizer, state senator in Illinois where he voted “present” greater than 60% of the time he spent in the legislature, US Senator from Illinois for barely 2 years (where he accomplished nothing except to ride a media propaganda wave) in which he accomplished exactly nothing legislatively, and then has served in the office of POTUS in arguably the worst performance of any of the men who held the office except possibly Andrew Johnson. Even CARTER looks like an effective
POTUS comparatively.
As far as media bias is concerned, gee…I dunno…let’s see…having the Tina Fey SLN line pushed as something that Palin said – an outright falsehood from the media – “I can see Russia from my front door” to portray Palin as being a moron.
Compare that to the media portrayal of Obama:

Calling the murderous attack on US soldiers at Ft. Hood by a muslim shouting ‘Allahu Ackbar’ a case of “workplace violence” and refusing to refer to it correctly as a “muslim terrorist attack.”
There is no greater evidence that leftists are afraid of Palin – and what she represents – than the disgustingly hypocritical manner with which they denigrate her while elevating the likes of a pinheads like Sandra Fluke, Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, and Hillary “What difference does it make” Clinton.
If, God willing, there is a GOP takeover of the Senate (with enough conservatives to keep the RINOs in check) I predict the left will either begin the escalation of their groundless, idiotic cries of “RACISM” to any opposition or criticism of Obama for however long they think he is useful – or more likely given Obama’s continuing plummeting poll numbers will find a way to shift all the blame onto Obama for “failing” to make leftist policies work. This was a lurid and bizarre story involving a former governor and candidate for VP, so on what planet was it going to be ignored? And Bristol playing the victim card loses a bit of its luster when she turns around and throws Chelsea Clinton and Hunter Biden under the bus. Hunter Biden isn’t a famous reality TV personality who got into a tabloidesque altercation with his entire famous family in tow. He was in the Navy Reserves when his personal issues surfaced. While Bristol may not grasp the difference, I’m sure all you can.
