Kucinich Bites Back Hard!

Hugh Hewitt calls him the new Poster Child for Tort Reform:

Kucinich's gloves come off when he delivers a knuckle sandwich against operators and suppliers of the Longworth House Office Building cafeteria

Kucinich filed a lawsuit on January 3rd against a U.S. House of Representatives cafeteria for $150.000 claiming that in 2008 he bit into a vegan sandwich wrap that contained “dangerous substances”, i.e., an olive pit:

Biting into it caused serious “permanent dental and oral injuries requiring multiple surgical and dental procedures,” the legal documents say. They contend the congressman is entitled to damages for future dental and medical expenses and to compensate him for pain, suffering, and loss of enjoyment.

“Said sandwich wrap was unwholesome and unfit for human consumption in that it was presented to contain pitted olives, yet unknown to plaintiff, contained an unpitted olive or olives which plaintiff did not reasonably expect to be in the food prepared for him, and could not visually detect prior to consumption,” the lawsuit said.

Tort lawyers often claim that they are in it to help “the little guy”. I suppose in this case, they may have a point. Ain’t that the pits?

Did I miss something here?

Is it not us the taxpayer paying for his “procedures” now and during his retirement till death he departs us?

CbR, as Charlie Chan used to say as he rubbed his chin. “Ah so”.

So this little troll claims that he bit down on a olive pit. Didn’t this happen 3 years ago. How much did he pay for this taxpayer subsidized sandwich in a taxpayer funded cafeteria? How much did his taxpayer funded dental insurance pay 100% 200% ? Can we see the records or are the confidential? Maybe if his flapping jaw slowed down to less than 500 cycles per minute his brain would have sensed the obstruction and directed his jaw to stop.

Why did he wait for three years? Did he sue now because the House is controlled by the opposition party?

Isn’t his government healthcare good enough to have fixed this at least two years ago? I hope this isn’t the same healthcare as promulgated by the regulations – at the Secretary’s discretion – in Obamacare.
