You call a woman a whore and you’re guaranteed NOW’s endorsement.

Provided you’re a Democrat. It’s worked now for both Jerry Brown an Alan Grayson.

A mere day after Jerry Brown referred to Meg Whitman as a whore, NOW endorsed Jerry Brown.

Jerry Brown announced he has received the endorsement of the National Organization for Women, less than 24 hours after the emergence of a recorded message in which Brown can be heard in a conversation with advisors in which someone calls Whitman a “whore.” Coincidence? You be the judge.

Whitman’s campaign pounced after the audio was made public, sending out a release Thursday night from spokeswoman Sarah Pompei calling the use of the term “an insult to both Meg Whitman and to the women of California. This is an appalling and unforgivable smear against Meg Whitman. At the very least Mr. Brown tacitly approved this despicable slur and he himself may have used the term at least once on this recording.”

California NOW President Patty Bellasalma had this to say:

“As Governor, Mayor, and Attorney General, Jerry Brown has promoted and defended women’s rights to be called whores.”

And the other shoe fell yesterday. NOW endorsed Alan Grayson

A year ago Grayson called Paul Bernanke adviser Linda Robertson a “K Street whore.”

Republicans and Democrats slammed Rep. Alan Grayson (D-Fla.) for calling Linda Robertson, an adviser to Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke, a “K Street whore” in a month-old radio interview that circulated on Capitol Hill Monday night.

Jim Hoft shares with us NOW’s decision to endorse Grayson.

The Florida chapter of the National Organization for Women has endorsed incumbent Congressman Democrat Alan Grayson in his reelection race against Republican Daniel Webster. This comes as Grayson has fallen rapidly in the polls since airing a falsified ad in which Grayson stated that his opponent was the equivalent of a terrorist, calling Webster “Taliban Dan.”

Grayson’s campaign doctored a video to falsely portray his opponent

The ad showed video of Mr. Webster saying “submit to me” repeatedly, with the implication that Webster wanted women to be ruled by men. It was quickly revealed that Grayson’s campaign heavily edited the video and knew what they were releasing was a lie. However, Grayson has stuck by the ad.

but NOW is undeterred by lies.

Yet NOW does take offense to some comments.

Women’s groups and some lawmakers called for the resignation of Alan Simpson, a Republican who serves on the bipartisan deficit panel created by President Barack Obama.

Simpson wrote this week in an email to one of his critics the Social Security retirement program has reached the point “where it’s like a milk cow with 310 million tits.”

Yeah, that was just awful.

The National Organization for Women said Simpson was “not fit to lead” the National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform.

Simpson could have avoided all that. He should have called them “whores.”
