ACORN To File Criminal Complaint Against Giles & O’Keefe

Loading

I can’t wait for the discovery phase…if it gets that far.

Former employees of the beleaguered community activist group ACORN are planning to file a criiminal complaint in Baltimore against the creators of the series of videos that have spurred outrage against the organization, knowledgable sources have told Investigative Voice.

The filing could come as soon as Friday afternoon, sources said.

The criminal complaint will allege that recordings of the group’s employees giving advice on how to evade taxes and house underage South American sex workers to journalists posing as a pimp and prostitute were obtained illegally.

The criminal complaint is expected to name both James O’Keefe, 25, and Hannah Giles, 20, along with the owner of the website Breitbart, which initially released the videos.

ACORN is also contemplating a civil suit seeking an injunction aginst O’Keefe and Giles to prevent them from distributing the videos, according to an an email.

Keep going ACORN, your just making yourself look more retarded.

Judge Napalitono (sp?) says the wire fraud law used to go after Clinton’s accusers cannot be used against hidden cameras. The camera does not go over the phone lines and it is completely different. There is no law against hidden cameras in that state.

ACORN was supposedly operating illegaly in Maryland in the first place. Mayor of Baltimore, SHeila Dixon was indicted on charges of stealing and lying, not to mention all of the lucrative construcion contracts she steered towards her sister.

Not to mention that I doubt most of the people who advocated bilking the IRS out of money will want Defense attourneys getting their hands on their filing status for the last 5 years.

Once ACORN’s papers are filed…. Isn’t there this annoying little thing called ‘Discovery’ that has be dealt with?

You know, all that corporate documentation and history that hasn’t been shredded yet.

Just a thought.

Jack.

In anticipation of such a suit, I have already downloaded all the ACORN videos from YouTube.

If O’Keefe and Giles and Breitbart are banned from further distribution, I’m sure the videos will make a reappearance.

I’m not suggesting anyone violate a court order, just making a simple statement.

Can you say RICO?

Yep, discovery will be a real hoot. Let the FBI, the IRS get after this, a truly independent Federal Prosecutor be appointed and let the fur fly. Pull ACORN out by the roots and deal with them like Giuliani dealt with the Mafia in NYC. Let the chips will fall as far as the temporary resident of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue and some incumbent rascals with office space at Capitol Hill if my gut feeling is correct.

If these clowns file as individuals, and the claim is illegal recording, what relevance do their tax shenanigans have? IOW, could discovery go there?
If ACORN is not filing, how could discovery rip them open?
I’d love to see a docdump to the FBI, the IRS, every state AG, and Rush Limbaugh. But if these folks are filing as individuals having been illegally recorded, I don’t see it happening.
Now, the ACORN civil suit wrt distribution is another matter.

That would be clearly the single most asinine thing ACORN could do,and God I pray they do it.But I do not believe they will Obama and the DNC will make damn sure of that

Discovery is going to be a bitch.

Richard,

I think the first post pretty much shoots the ACORN charges to pieces. The ACORN accusations are nothing more than retaliation to shut others up.

Richard,
The bag is out of the cat.
