Just Prior To 9/11 Democrat Strategist Wanted Bush To Fail

Loading

Just a few days ago I posted on that poll from 2006 which showed Democrats wanted Bush to fail as President. This showed the true hypocrisy of those Democrats crying today about Rush and us Republicans wanting Obama to fail to enact his Socialist agenda.

It gets even better. Here is James Carville telling reporters, minutes before the attack of 9/11, that he wanted Bush to fail:

On the morning of Sept. 11, 2001, just minutes before learning of the terrorist attacks on America, Democratic strategist James Carville was hoping for President Bush to fail, telling a group of Washington reporters: “I certainly hope he doesn’t succeed.”…

Minutes later, as news of the terrorist attacks reached the hotel conference room where the Democrats were having breakfast with the reporters, Carville announced: “Disregard everything we just said! This changes everything!”

The press followed Carville’s orders, never reporting his or Greenberg’s desire for Bush to fail. The omission was understandable at first, as reporters were consumed with chronicling the new war on terror. But months and even years later, the mainstream media chose to never resurrect those controversial sentiments, voiced by the Democratic Party’s top strategists, that Bush should fail…

“The difference between Carville and his ilk and me is that I care about what happens to my country,” Limbaugh told Fox on Wednesday. “I am not saying what I say for political advantage. I oppose actions, such as Obama’s socialist agenda, that hurt my country.

Shocking how the MSM helped Carville to sweep that statement under the rug after the attacks eh? Yeeeah.

Sure, he changed his mind after the attacks. But he’s a political strategist and he knew that statement would look real bad after an attack like that. No one in their right mind believes Carville really, suddenly, wanted Bush to succeed as President.

Hell, it was only two weeks later and the Democrats went on the attack.

Carville and Lindbaugh are both self-aggrandizing purveyors of hate.

I do think that the criticism of the MSM (on this particular point) isn’t really fair. Firstly, given that the statement in question did occur on the same day 9/11 broke, and given that it was immediately retracted, it was hardly a story worth mentioning, at that particular time. Down the road, there is a principle that “nothing is deader than yesterday’s news.” It’s not just the “MSM” which didn’t think to resurrect the story, it’s everyone else, also. The quote only became relevant in the current context of the Lindbaugh quote. It’s legitimate to raise this point and compare/contrast with Lindbaugh at this time. As stated above, I think that both were comparable sentiments and both were designed to be flammatory wedge statements.

And one has the ear of the president who involves himself and his office in the pathetic scam.

Ahhh… remember those good old days when failure just meant gridlock.

Hardly a story worth mentioning, yeah it’s only when speaking of Obama’s policies is it worth mentioning, or if statements are twisted into pretzels, is it worth mentioning. Rush is a hater? Who does he hate, is it like the hatred the left held towards Bush, or is it more along the lines of Jeremiah Wright. Did he publish a book on assassinating GWB, or how about saying “The war is lost”, you mean that type of hatred?

The press had every reason to retrieve and expose the earlier Carville/Greenberg behavior the minute they realized Carville and Greenberg were at the bottom of the Limbaugh story.

The fact that they were coordinating this scam with the White House should have been exposed to the public, they wouldn’t even report the Rush story accurately.

Now they are using the very same steps to go after Eric Canter.

1. Obama singles out the victim.

2. The press falls in line and goes negative.

3. Nutroot blogs go viral.

Sickening bunch of individuals running the country.

We cannot criticize Obama but he can say that about Bush. What a hypocrite! What is despicable is that is was ok to undermine Bush during 2 wars, Katrina and so many other times. They did this relentlessly for 7 years. The only time was on the days after 911. But, we cannot say we want Obama to fail.

HEY, I WANT OBAMA TO FAIL! I want Socialism to fail. I want Capitalism, freedom, and liberty to win. That is not hate. That is being an American!

Then there’s Ellen Ratner who wanted Bush to “screw up” the war so that he would lose the election.

That would mean more dead soldiers right?

Disgusting bunch of cretins these people are.

Roll the tape:

Larry, your opinions might carry some weight if you weren’t
constantly having obamagasms.
Rush is no hate monger and your comment only proves how deliberately
blind you are.

@Hard Right:

Larry is a purveyor of myths.

This is just one more to add to the list.

Next he’ll be telling us that Adam Smith, who said that income taxes were “absurd and destructive”, was actually in favor of progressive income taxes.

All we can do with the larry lemmings is let them jump off the cliff
and hope they don’t take us with them.
I bet he doesn’t even know what Rush actually said.

@Hard Right:

All we can do with the larry lemmings is let them jump off the cliff

You mean like this?
