Jihad leader: Obama “a victory for radical Islamic groups”

Loading

Is Obama’s very campaign rhetoric foreign policy “gaffe” #2?

From today’s New York Times… read it and don’t forget to “celebrate” with America’s enemy.

The leader of a jihadi group in Iraq argued Friday that the election of Barack Obama as president represented a victory for radical Islamic groups that had battled American forces since the invasion of Iraq.

The statement, which experts said was part of the psychological duel with the United States, was included in a 25-minute audiotaped speech by Abu Omar al-Baghdadi, leader of the Islamic State of Iraq, an umbrella organization that claims ties to Al Qaeda. Mr. Baghdadi’s statement was posted on a password-protected Web site called Al Hesbah, used to disseminate information to Islamic radicals.

In his address, Mr. Baghdadi also said that the election of Mr. Obama — and the rejection of the Republican candidate, Senator John McCain — was a victory for his movement, a claim that has already begun to resonate among the radical faithful. In so doing Mr. Baghdadi highlighted the challenge the new president would face as he weighed how to remove troops from Iraq without also giving movements like Al Qaeda a powerful propaganda tool to use for recruiting.

Mr. Baghdadi also used his address to offer Mr. Obama an unlikely deal, one certain to do little to bring any resolution to the conflict between radical Islamic groups and the United States. He offered a truce of sorts in exchange for the removal of all forces from the region.

“On behalf of my brothers in Iraq, Afghanistan, Somalia and Chechnya, I offer you what is better for you and us: you return to your previous era of neutrality, you withdraw your forces, and you return to your homes,” Mr. Baghdadi said. “You do not interfere in the affairs of our countries, directly or indirectly. We in turn will not prevent commerce with you, whether it is in oil or otherwise, but with fairness, not at a loss.”

“It would be no exaggeration to say that we Arabs and Muslims were the main unseen voters who decided the outcome of these elections,” wrote Abdelbari Atwan in Wednesday’s issue of the London-based pan-Arab daily newspaper Al Quds Al Arabi.”

Lol… like if we didn’t know. This is the reason why Obama did not want us to see his list of donors.

“Mr. Bin Hizam said. “The main principle of Al Qaeda prohibits any relation with infidels.”

That is the main problem. They think we are infidels. They do not like our way of living. They hate our rights, liberties and freedom. It has nothing to do with our foreign policies.

“If he withdraws the soldiers from Iraq before the country gets really stable, Al Qaeda will see it as their victory, and they might get stronger again,” one regional intelligence official said. That dynamic was already beginning to play out on Al Hesbah.”

We had also figured out that one. Only stupid Obamatrons can’t figure it out, they are too dumb.

As we withdraw from Iraq, and head for Afghanistan, why wouldn’t the Jihadis go back to Iraq? Life has to be more comfortable there.

Heh, the Times hasn’t figgured out yet that the guy’s name isn’t Mr Baghdadi, it’s Mr Omar,,, of Baghdad.

Tell me: Exactly who was unaware of this? You would think that the Islamic world would be issuing a fatjwa on someone that studied in a Muslim school, who switched to Christianity. Just my thought and not meant to be an accusation, but all things being equal?

@MataHarley: mata, they aren’t unaware, they believe it is all a lie. my boss who has always voted conservative voted for the big zero. she feeld that was all a lie, she moved alot as a child due to her fathers military career and has lived all over the world and she said that you take on the culture where you are. she also has a new family member who is from cameroon. although the new family member is catholic and was raised mostly in france i think she feels that she owes it to him to believe in obama, i should also mention that said family member is friendly with michelle obama’s brother. very scary if you ask me.

@MataHarley: i have a keen sixth sense on things and have warned her of bad employees in the past and she would never open her eyes and see, she would always say that she was sure i was being close monded or just a bitch. then when she would get screwed over by them, they would steal from her, or come to work way to high to function and the proof was in her face she would tell me i was right. so after the lecture i got about the change and how michelle will be one hell of afirst lady and how this is a new day in our nation i just decided ignorance will be bliss, that is until she is screwed by obama policy. i have takent o calling our country the ussa, and a few friends love it, but are saddened by the fact that it is mostly true.

Iraqis preferred John McCain. They are the only Muslim country who does not want Obama as President. That says a lot. Iraqis appreciated the United States of America.

US ELECTION: IF IRAQIS COULD VOTE IT WOULD BE FOR McCAIN http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=081030170209.3wcxfwin&show_article=1

This is how I see the future of Obama’s presidency in the years to come. I made a list of the main possible events.

THESE ARE THE THINGS THAT OBAMA WILL BE TESTED ON IN FOREIGN POLICIES:

IRAQ:

If Obama retreats the U.S. troops too early, that could start back trouble and violence that had been stopped by the Surge and would deprive America of a well fought Victory. If Obama leaves the troops there for the time Iraq needs them, than he will be seen as no different than Bush in the eyes of the World and leftist Americans

IRAN:

Negotiations that have been taken for years to restrain the Mullahs to get their nuclear facilities have failed miserably. Sanctions has been overlooked and contoured specially by European countries. Should Obama decide not to bomb Iran, then he will have to reinforce the sanctions against Iran and this will not please Europe. The only other alternative would be to let the Mullah get their nuclear facilities. But the whole world and specially Israel will be scared to death. If Obama decides to bomb Iran, he will be seen as no different than Bush in the eyes of the World and the leftist Americans

AFGHANISTAN:

Obama promised to double his efforts in this crumbly country. Maybe that was only empty words and he will try to search for “moderate Talibans” that some people are talking about these days… lol. Or, if he was serious about it, he will try to get more of NATO’s cooperation. But Europeans counties already want to disengage with Afghanistan. Should he chose that road, he will be seen as no different than Bush in the eyes of the World and the leftist Americans

RUSSIA:

The American and European positions on Russia are very different. If Obama leftist tendencies switch to extreme left to seduce West Europe, that means that he will be ready to sacrifice Ukraine, a part of freedom to Central Europe and the resources of Central Asia. If he remains strong against Russia, he will be seen as no different than Bush in the eyes of the World and the leftist Americans

ISRAEL/PALESTINE CONFLICT:

If Obama gets too close to the European’s positions that are clearly pro-Palestinian, Jewish Americans who voted for him will be mad and will not give him their support next time around. If he leans toward Israel, he will get the hater of the Islamic world and will deceive his previous associations who put him in the place of POTUS. And of course, he will be seen as no different than Bush in the eyes of the World and the leftist Americans

CHINA, TAÏWAN, VENEZUELA, COLUMBIA, CUBA and AFRICA:

These are other problems that Obama will have to face and there are not many ways to deal with them that will be good for him

SO, IF I WAS AN OBAMATRON, I would celebrate all I can right now, because the PARTY will not be lasting very long… lol

Craig;
Though I would certainly agree that Islamic rogue nations are more than happy to see Obama taking office. I don’t think I would go so far as to issue a blanket statement that ALL Islamic nations prefer to see Obama in charge.

Despite anti-Kurd, sentiments, I suspect the Turkish government would not prefer him. Trust is a very important consideration there.

The same could be said for the Saudi royal family, though the commoners in their streets value an Obama Admin. I think Obama’s well-concealed support for big oil is the only thing that will keep him in Saudi’s court (Obama has taken lobbyist support from big oil. So, regardless of what he tells his supporters, he will not crack down on them).

Kuwait owes it’s very existence today to U.S. led NATO forces going in and expelling Saddam’s royal guard and military out via Desert Storm.

I would have to put Afghanistan in a wait and see category. Their government has been relatively co-operative with the U.S. so far, it really depends whether Obama has the nerve to follow through. I think once he got word of Osama bin Laden’s capture or elimination, Obama would decide he had played out what it was worth towards his own legacy and pull our troops out in a heartbeat. Leaving Afganistan to it’s own devices and at the mercy of a potential Taliban coup. We have to take BHO’s own selfish ego under consideration.

I do not foresee Obama getting tough with Russia. I think Russia will re-engage within 3-6 months and take over Georgia. Followed by the Ukraine. I doubt Barry has the stones to take on a socialist country, as doing so would be counter to socialist world domination ideology. Though I have my doubts Medvedev would actually risk launching a nuke strike against Poland if the missile shield is placed, He will take Georgia & the Ukraine as consolation prizes. The only factor I see that might alter a Poland response would depend on whether Obama would be foolish enough to disarm America’s nuclear defense/deterrence capability.

With Obama’s perceived weaknesses. A similar attempt by China to re-absorb Taiwan is indeed very likely. I don’t invasion Obama being tested here. I doubt he would even ante up. He’ll just fold.

Here is another problem with most of the people who believe in war. Most Americans do so because they have not experience it first hand. But facing war in your backyard for whatever reason is terrifying. War is not a solution to 21st century world problems and America cannot solve the global problems on its own. America has to work with its allies closely to push for global agenda. I am glad that unilaterary view and action of America is coming to an end

Dean you are wrong. Pacifists are ignorant people. Wars are inevitable in the 21st century. Islamic terrorists do not care about our foreign policies. They just hate our guts because they think we are infidels. They hate our way of living, our freedom, our rights and liberties. They want to install Sharia law thru out the planet. That is their goal and no negotiations with them are possible. They will never change their mind. Wars are necessary evil to fight greater evil. It is impossible to negotiate with crazy furious radicals. You have to understand that and so does Obama.

Ummm Dean, we tried to work with our “allies” and they refused or spiked their efforts. Try facing reality for once.

You can be against war all you want, just a a woman can be against rape. But when it is foisted on you, it will happen if you believe in it or not. The only real choice you have is at what point do you begin asserting your own interest. If you wait until too late you will only be able to fight for survival, and at a serious disadvantage and poor prospects. You’ll also find yourself increasingly in that same situation, just as a woman who is easily raped will likely be raped often, or the kid who’s lunch money is easily taken will be taken often. That is the world. It has always been the world. The only way to change that will be by force. In short, only war can end war. Yes, it is a catch 22.
