Well, at least we will be able to see him. But on CNN? Bleh:
Former White House press secretary Tony Snow will join CNN as a conservative commentator beginning today, it was announced by Jon Klein, president of CNN/U.S. A well-known and respected observer of politics with a longstanding news background, Snow will contribute to CNN as the network continues to broadcast winning political coverage.
Snow most recently served as press secretary to President George W. Bush from April 2006 to September 2007. For 10 years beginning in 1996, he appeared on Fox News Channel, hosting Fox News Sunday, Weekend Live with Tony Snow and other programs. From 2003 to 2006, The Tony Snow Show aired on Fox News Radio. Before joining Fox, Snow served as a substitute “From the Right” co-host for CNN’s Crossfire.
“In the White House, Tony brought a remarkably human touch to the discussion of public policy, which he will continue to do as part of the Best Political Team on Television,” Klein said. “He will contribute a unique breadth of political and journalistic expertise to what is already the most provocative and wide-ranging political analysis on the air.”
“I’m delighted to be able to join CNN during the most exciting and unpredictable political year in memory,” Snow said. “The big challenge in 2008 is to develop deep, creative and aggressive analysis of both political parties, their candidates and campaigns. I’m eager to get started, since this race is sure to shape American politics for years to come.”
During the 1990s, Snow was a regular guest host for Rush Limbaugh’s radio program. He was the writer, correspondent and host of a PBS news special, The New Militant Center, a regular commentator for National Public Radio and a frequent guest on numerous televised news programs. Snow joined the administration of President George H. W. Bush in 1991 and served first as chief speechwriter and then as media affairs adviser.
In addition to his experience in government, television and radio, Snow spent more than two decades as an award-winning newspaper writer beginning with the Greensboro Record in 1979. He went on to be a columnist for USA Today and Creators Syndicate and an editorial page editor for The Washington Times.
Well, congrats Tony! If anyone can hold his own on that liberal news channel its Tony Snow.

This is *great* news! Putting Tony in the faces of the “no Fox all the time” snippy progressives may actually help with education of the same. They’d never turn to Fox willingingly, ya know.
And I’ll follow Tony anywhere!
I expect him to be used relatively infrequently but they’ll claim full credit for having a conservative on board.
Good for Tony. He’s the hardest working guy in broadcasting. I remember one Friday before he went to the White House, he subbed for Rush for three hours, did an hour long interview on a local DC radio show, then subbed for Brit Hume on Special Report.
I bumped into him at lunch one time at the Capitol City Brewing Company (about half way between my work and the Fox DC bureau) and he seemed as nice in person as he seems on TV.
I wish him the best – it’s more likely that CNN’s character will change before Tony will.
CNN? I’m not even sure I get that channel.
One can hope that Tony Snow might bring respectability back to what used to be “vaunted” CNN. Heck, I think we can all remember the days of Gulf War I when CNN was absolutely the best coverage out there.
Just for another example of how low CNN has sunk (and how much a tool of the Obama campaign it has become); this morning in the midst of reporting on the continuing case of the polygamist cult down in Texas, CNN brought on some “expert” who also noted the “racist” nature of the group… This then fed into the woman who was arrested in Colorado Springs for making a false report about being a thirteen year old girl who was being abused in the compound. Turns out she’s an Obama delegate, and was slated to go to the Denver convention. So, the anchor then goes on this spiel on how indirectly BHO (the messiah) was responsible for taking down this cult. I swear, I could not believe my ears that this stuff was getting put on the tele-prompter for the anchor to read… This was news??? Good luck Tony Snow!
This guy has a long history in the media…..PBS, NPR, and now CNN, where he’ll be alongside Glenn Beck. Those “librul media” outlets have a pretty good hiring history, it seems…(laugh)
I wish Tony the best. He is a class act from the word go. Maybe it will help balance CNN… if only a little bit.
It’ll be fun watching him clean the left leaning clocks of the people he comes up against. I wonder how many of them wanted him to die when he had his cancer surgery?
Yes Wes, falling ratings and lost revenues tend to make them more honest (which is not that hard considering their track record). (laugh)
CNN still made up false news stories in Iraq while I was there which I witnessed and will never forgive them for. Needless to say, they have A LOT of work to rebuild their credibility and this is only window dressing.
