Gotta love Tim Russert’s tough questioning of Rangel here:

MR. RUSSERT: Chairman Rangel, welcome back to MEET THE PRESS. Want to talk about your book in a second, but let me start with the war. The House voted for funding for the war with a date certain, March of ‘08, to begin a withdrawal of U.S. troops. But in that bill was $20 billion of so-called pork, money for cricket infestation, tours of the Capitol, security at the National Convention, peanut crops. Why would the Democrats put that kind of money in such a serious bill?

REP. CHARLES B. RANGEL (D-NY): Because they needed the votes. That bill, we lost so many Democrats, one, because people thought we went too far and others because we didn’t go far enough. And so a lot of things had to go into a bill that certainly those of us who respect great legislation did not want in there. But the real question was, were we doing something to stop this immoral war and what could we do instead of doing nothing except do what the president asks us to do? I think the most important thing and the worst thing that’s ever happened to this country in recent history is getting involved in the Middle East, and I didn’t care what was in that bill if there was anything to slow down, to, to say what the American people said in the last election, “Get out of Iraq!”

Does Tim become a pitbull and take him to task for including bribes in legislation to get it passed?  Nope.

Instead his follow-up question is asking him why they just don’t pull the funds completely to which Charlie replied that they don’t have the votes.  That’s it.  No outrage, no tough questions.  Hell, Tim didn’t even call him on the fact that he believes the worst thing that’s happened to our country is getting involved in the Middle East.

Guess we can all forget about 9/11 now.

Then we have this idiot Michael Ware, a CNN reporter, who heckled McCain while he held a news conference.

During a live press conference in Bagdad, Senators McCain and Graham were heckled by CNN reporter Michael Ware. An official at the press conference called Ware’s conduct “outrageous,” saying, “here you have two United States Senators in Bagdad giving first-hand reports while Ware is laughing and mocking their comments. I’ve never witnessed such disrespect. This guy is an activist not a reporter.”

Senators McCain and Graham flew into Iraq and drove into Bagdad, making stops at an open market and a joint Iraq/American military security outpost before appearing at the press conference.

Now thats professionalism and excellence in reporting huh?

The guy has been a shill for the terrorists for a long long time, recall he was the one who received the sniper video in which our troops are shown being sniped and killed.  Any guesses why he gets this kind of service from our enemy?

MICHAEL WARE: Absolutely.

I’ve been tracking the insurgency for over a year now.

I’ve been joining their groups, visiting then in their safe houses, their villages, I’ve been travelling with them, I’ve seen their weapons caches, I’ve been trying to keep as close tabs as possible over the last 12 months.

Our MSM at it’s best.
