Richard Belzer, another blowhard actor who thinks he knows better then us “little people” because he can read lines in front of a camera, has come out and stated our soldiers fighting in Iraq are basically just losers who cant find a job anywhere else: (via Newsbusters & Expose the Left)

?Doesn’t mean he’s a brilliant scholar about the war because he’s there.? A quite agitated Ros-Lehtinen sputtered: “Oh, you are though! You are though? Okay.” To which Belzer affirmed: “Well I have more time…? Host Bill Maher interjected that Belzer’s point was that a 19-year-old is in the army ?because he probably couldn’t find other employment.” The Republican Congresswoman from Florida countered that her stepson is a college graduate, leading Belzer to snidely denigrate the military: “You think everyone over there is a college graduate? They’re 19 and 20-year-old kids who couldn’t get a job.?

Ros-Lehtinen mocked him: “Yeah, you know because you’ve been there.” Belzer rudely lashed back: “What, I don’t (bleeping) read!? Don’t do that!” He went on to argue: “It’s this patronizing thing that people have about if you’re against the war everyone’s lumped together. You know, the soldiers are not scholars, they’re not war experts.” That was too much for host Bill Maher: “You’re going to lose even me…?

Funny, those 19 & 20 year old kids were the ones who won World War II. They are the ones who took the beaches of Normandy, and they are the ones who freed 25 million people under Saddam’s brutal dictatorship.

Those kids are heroes, something this dumbass knows nothing about. He thinks he KNOWS the real story because he reads newspapers? Give me a break.

And then Maher starts in with the only reason they enlist is because they can’t find a “real” job.

Basically they are both calling our soldiers uneducated idiots.

A recent article showed how difficult it is for the Military to find quality recruits, think the colleges have any difficulty?

WASHINGTON – Uncle Sam wants YOU, that famous Army recruiting poster says. But does he really?

Not if you’re a Ritalin-taking, overweight, Generation Y couch potato — or some combination of the above.

As for that fashionable “body art” that the military still calls a tattoo, having one is grounds for rejection, too.

With U.S. casualties rising in wars overseas and more opportunities in the civilian work force from an improved U.S. economy, many young people are shunning a career in the armed forces. But recruiting is still a two-way street — and the military, too, doesn’t want most people in this prime recruiting age group of 17 to 24.

Of some 32 million Americans now in this group, the Army deems the vast majority too obese, too uneducated, too flawed in some way, according to its estimates for the current budget year.

“As you look at overall population and you start factoring out people, many are not eligible in the first place to apply,” said Doug Smith, spokesman for the Army Recruiting Command.

Put a 19 year old Marine next to a 19 year college student and let’s see who is the idiot.

Additionally he made some other ignorant remarks:

“You know, the soldiers are not scholars, they’re not war experts.”

What? They are over there FIGHTING the war, that does indeed make them war experts.

“Now they’re just protecting each other and they’re in the middle of a civil war.”

I guess he gets that from the MSM since he reads 20 newspapers a day (/sarcasm). There is NO civil war in Iraq, deal with it you lefties.

It’s sad to see this progression. The left has come full circle to hating our troops, I wonder how long it will be until they are spit on once again by those who don’t deserve the sacrifices our troops make everyday.

Last point, I’ve always found it hard to believe how this dumbass and Ice T are playing cops. What’s this world coming to?
