My niece, Katelyn, stationed at Baluud , Iraq was assigned, with others of her detachment, to be escort/guard/watcher for Martha Raddatz of ABC News as she covered John McCain’s recent trip to Iraq.
Katelyn and her Captain stood directly behind Raddatz as she queried GI’s walking past. They kept count of the GI’s and you should remember these numbers. She asked 60 GI’s who they planned to vote for in November. 54 said John McCain, 4 for Obama, and 2 for Hillary.
Katelyn called home and told her Mom and Dad to watch ABC news the next night because she was standing directly behind Raddatz and maybe they’d see her on TV. Mom and Dad of course, called and emailed all the kinfolk to watch the newscast and maybe see Katelyn.
Well, of course, we all watched and what we saw wasn’t a glimpse of Katelyn, but got a hell’uva view of skewed news. After a dissertation on McCain’s trip and speech, ABC showed 5 GI’s being asked by Raddatz how they were going to vote in November; 3 for Obama and 2 for Clinton .. No mention of the 54 for McCain.
Ah, the irony of American Patriots protecting the press from harm while the reporter prepares a completely misleading story about which candidate the soldiers prefer. The reporter obviously thought her escort was comprised of brainless morons who wouldn’t see what was going on in front of them. Wouldn’t be the first time a reporter in the MSM turned out to be the brainless moron.
John McCain lost my vote along time ago. He still makes me angry and I will not be happy to vote for him in November. There is only one thing that will make me vote for McCain and that is his opponent.
Initially, when McCain was handed the Republican nomination by a coalition of Democrat/Independent crossover voters and squishy Republicans, I decided not to vote for him in November. At that point I knew I was dooming the country to another 4 years of a Clinton in the White House. As bad as that would have been it may have been worth it to teach the GOP a lesson.
Then came Obama. He didn’t seem so bad at first but the more you get to know him the more dangerous he becomes. At first we did not know how naive this guy was and then he told us he would negotiate with our enemies without pre-conditions. As previously reported, Barack Obama made a scathing attack upon John McCain’s proposal for a $300 million prize for the development of a next-generation battery yesterday. In a delivered speech Obama stated, “In statements made today, Mr. Obama remarked, “I’ve been talking about this myself for the last few years. But I don’t think that a $300 million prize is the way to go. When John F. Kennedy decided that we were going to put a man on the moon, he didn’t put a bounty out for some rocket scientist to win – he put the full resources of the United States government behind the project and called on the ingenuity and innovation of the American people, not just in the private sector but also in the public sector.”
Obama’s gaffe claiming that “I don’t think that a $300 million prize is the way to go…” was a direct reflection of his inherent misunderstanding of American Ingenuity over the past 232 years, as reported in as reported at PDOP - Obama World: Government Not American Ingenuity Will Solve The Gas Crisis. More importantly however is the fact that news organizations across the country conveniently failed to publish this portion of Obama’s remarks. Today Barack Obama threw the American Spirit of Capitalism and Competition under the bus as he scoffed at John McCain’s proposal of a $300 million dollar prize for the development of a next generation car battery. Obama’s ridiculous mocking of the idea goes far beyond his typical rhetoric of criticism without solutions. Obama’s attack on the plan made clear his position that the Government, not the American people, will solve our problems. After 232 years of American Ingenuity driven by our modified capitalism, we are now considering the election of a president who clearly does not understand or appreciate the contributions of our predecessors.
In statements made today, Mr. Obama remarked, “After all those years in Washington, John McCain still doesn’t get it… I commend him for his desire to accelerate the search for a battery that can power the cars of the future. I’ve been talking about this myself for the last few years. But I don’t think that a $300 million prize is the way to go. When John F. Kennedy decided that we were going to put a man on the moon, he didn’t put a bounty out for some rocket scientist to win – he put the full resources of the United States government behind the project and called on the ingenuity and innovation of the American people, not just in the private sector but also in the public sector.”
Obama comparison to the space program certainly has patriotic undertones but in reality undermines his very own argument. John Kennedy never told the American people that the government should be committed to sending a man to the moon; he stated, “I believe this nation should commit itself to achieving the goal”. Ultimately, the space program of the 60’s was extremely dependent upon the awarding of contracts and expertise of private firms such as McDonnell-Douglas, General Electric, North American Aviation’s Rocketdyne Division, Aerospace Corporation, Martin, and dozens of others. Barack Obama stooped to a new low in his campaign of division and distraction on Saturday when he scraped the bottom of the barrel in his inference that John McCain may be partially to blame for levee collapses throughout the region. In a prepared statement Obama stated, “I know that Sen. McCain felt as strongly as I did, feeling enormous sympathy for the victims of the recent flooding. I’m sure they appreciated the sentiment, but they probably would have appreciated it even more if Sen. McCain hadn’t opposed legislation to fund levees and flood control programs, which he considers pork.”
Obama’s attack on McCain, even as flood waters continue rise in Illinois and Missouri, is a new low for Obama, as his attack on John McCain also through top Democrat Russ Feingold (led the opposition to the bill) under the bus. I don’t surf much in Democrat waters; if they ever caught me they’d make remote Pacific island cannibalism look like a state dinner. But I stumbled across this on a Democrat site, and though you have to read between the lines a bit, I think this Hillary supporter is not happy with Obama’s impending nomination. You be the judge.
On behalf of millions of Clinton supporters who have made it very clear that we will vote for a cockroach before we vote for Barack Obama, I would like you pieces of Obama crap to know that you can kiss our asses. We will collectively do everything in our power to see to it that you and that mysogynist, bigoted, race-baiting pig you worship, the fraud who has already set gender and racial relations back thirty years, goes down in flames in a big way. And there are millions of us. Millions. The kind of millions that brought his type down before from the voting booth.
So kindly don’t bother trying the Nicey-Nicey. We are not your wives you can beat the crap out of and later come back and get back together with. You are so vile you give yourselves away by the third comment, so really it’s a waste of time. You don’t even know you are offensive because it’s in your DNA or something. So really, there’s no sense of stressing yourselves trying to hide your disdain for us. It’s not necessary. We hate you even more than you hate us and all of you only serve to solidify our resolve. And when Barry Obama goes down in November, kindly remember why. Or don’t remember why. Nobody cares.

They would surely surmise that McCain will give them what they want. Bin Laden himself intervened with what many thought was the effect of keeping President Bush in power in 2004 with that weird tape just before the poll.

The Times writes that McCain is going to use Bush to raise money, as Bill is, but won’t use him for anything else. Which is how it should be. Reagan did the same for Bush Sr. and apparently Bush Jr. will be doing it this way for McCain.
I’ve been posting on my blog for sometime the many reasons why I will support McCain in the General election. Two big reasons. The Supreme Court and the War on Terror. today Hugh Hewitt wrote about the very real danger of a liberal President on SCOTUS:
There are seven reasons for anyone to support the eventual nominee no matter who it is: The war and six Supreme Court justices over the age of 68.
Folks who want to take their ball and go home have to realize that even three SCOTUS appointments could revolutionize the way elections are handled in this country in a stroke, mandating the submission of redistricting lines to court scrutiny for “fairness.”
Forget the gaseous platitudes: in Dem terms, their choice on Super Duper Tuesday was deciding which candidate was Super Duper and which was merely Super. Over on the GOP side, it was a choice between Weak & Divisive or Weaker & Unacceptable. Doesn’t bode well for November.
The big surprise of the night is that the South voted for a Republican who has no chance, and essentially gave the Republican nod to McCain.
Polls, polls, and more polls. Regular readers know I have no faith in any of them, whether they agree with my position or not. But I figured a post on the recent polls couldn’t hurt on a Superbowl Sunday so here ya go.
First, the poll with the largest sampling, therefore the more reliable one, the Reuters/CSpan/Zogby poll, with 1185 Likely Voters, shows Romney leading McCain in California 37% to 34%. Good news.
HRC: I do not think it is appropriate to give a drivers license to someone who is here undocumented, putting them frankly at risk, because that is clear evidence that they are not here legally.
I now see no other scenario where Mitt takes it from him. He will win all the lefty states on the 5th, it sounds like Huckabee will stay in for some freakin reason which will prevent a Mitt vs. John slugfest.
