McCain could travel all the way to Alaska to see what ANWR really looks like, and after the visit he may change his mind about drilling there. Or he can save himself the trip and watch this video. Once again, if the Republicans can use this stuff to show the American people how the whack-jobs are running the Democrat Party, he may have a chance.

Then again, if he skips the trip to Alaska, he’d miss out on a field trip with the governor, Sarah Palin. Read the rest of this entry »

From one of my favorite Democrats, Uppity Woman.

The close-up of the dead donkey.

Not sure I’d say the Party is dead, but there does seem to be something wrong with the Kool-Aid.

The New York Times thinks the inmates have taken over the asylum in planning the Democrat Convention in Denver. It started out a week ago with the DNC Food Nazis telling everyone what they can and cannot eat (nothing new there). In this post, Idiot, Control-Freak, Do-Gooder Liberals, it was noted.

Warning to Southern delegates to the 2008 Democratic National Convention in Denver this August: it will be a no-fry zone.

As part of the effort to make the August 25-28 convention the greenest ever, the Democrats’ guidelines for food catering include one that strikes at the heart of Southern cuisine: no fried food.

No fried chicken. No fried catfish. No fried green tomatoes. No fried okra. No fried anything.

In promoting healthy eating habits, the Democratic guidelines say every meal should be nutritious and include “at least three of the following colors: red, green, yellow, purple/blue and white.”

Shockingly, the people in the food business, who have real jobs that actually produce something, think the politicians are a bunch of dolts (nothing new there). Read the rest of this entry »

Remember, when you are a Democrat, you leave your individual rights and preferences at the door. You are now a cog in the great machine. You will comply with approved party policy, or you will be branded a heretic and will become fodder for a Keith Olbermann rant.

Per the Party Grand Poobahs, the fun at the Democrat Convention will be supplemented with some proper dietary rules. Read the rest of this entry »

When the Democrats lose presidential elections they usually blame their candidate for not getting the message out. They also blame bovine voters too stupid to appreciate all that liberals have to offer. They certainly blame the eeevil Republican Machine for distorting the truth about Democrat policies. But they never admit they lost because their policies are too liberal.

Here is a sampling of the liberal post-mortem commentary after Kerry’s loss in 2004.

Salon sniffs.

Democrats Lost The Battle, Not The War - Only people suffering from historical amnesia could believe this election proves that liberalism is dead.

Slate’s arrogantly slams the idiot voters.

The Unteachable Ignorance of the Red States.

The election results reflect the decision of the right wing to cultivate and exploit ignorance in the citizenry. I suppose the good news is that 55 million Americans have evaded the ignorance-inducing machine. But 58 million have not.

And from those patriots at the Democratic Socialists of America. Read the rest of this entry »

The Democrats have placed a big bulls-eye on Virginia this year. The Senate seat held by the retiring Republican John Warner is in grave danger of being flipped by Democrat Mark Warner. The Democrat Party loves its new Senator Jim Webb, mentioned as possible Vice-Presidential material, mainly because the guy has balls, something conspicuously missing on the left.

The current Democrat governor, Tim Kaine, has handed Republicans one of the few things with which they may be able to beat Warner and/or Obama this year. Democrats simply cannot keep their hands out of the cookie jar. From The Washington Post. Read the rest of this entry »

More proof of the radical nature of the modern Democrat Party, as exemplified by Barack Obama. Following up on this post, Don’t Tell Me Obama Isn’t A Marxist, we have House Democrats proposing the NATIONALIZATION of the oil industry. That means confiscation, just like Hugo Chavez and Stalin before him. From Hot Air.

A few day ago Maxine Waters had the same idea. Also from Hot Air.

This liberal will be all about socializing, uhh, uhh, will be about basically taking over, and the government running all of your companies.

Marxism. Pure and simple.

There was a seemingly innocuous piece on Politico the other day. I saw it, and kept going, but my mind kept wandering back to it. It was titled, “Obama moves DNC operations to Chicago.”

In a major shakeup at the Democratic National Committee — and a departure from tradition — large parts of the committee’s operations are relocating to Chicago to be fully integrated with the Obama campaign.

The DNC’s political department, housed in Washington, D.C., will be dramatically rebuilt, with staffers offered a choice of moving to Chicago, joining state operations, or staying in Washington, DNC spokeswoman Karen Finney said.

But the power will clearly be shifting to a centralized Chicago hub.

The DNC’s key role in coordinating political operations with state parties is expected to largely be taken over and overseen by Obama’s senior staff in Chicago, state party officials said.

I realize that the nominee, as the head of the party, gets to call the shots at the DNC. And the inside baseball angle of staffers being ticked off at losing their jobs is news in and of itself. But the breadth, depth, and wholesale nature of the takeover of the party apparatus seems extreme. DNC staffers who don’t move to Chicago are gone. Those that make the move will answer directly to Obama’s hand picked generals. No discussion. No dissension. Read the rest of this entry »

In an earlier post we learned that the Obama camp was busted having a flag of Commie Cuban thug, Che Guevara, prominently displayed on the wall in its Houston campaign office. In case you missed it, here’s a helpful reminder.

I think most Democrats in Congress went to college, though there is seldom any outward sign of it. While there, they undoubtedly learned about the law of supply and demand. Unlike the Democrats’ opinions about the economy, it is called the law of supply and demand because it is not open for interpretation or opinion. It is what it is. You don’t get to spin it.

The booming economies in China and India are sucking massive amounts of oil, which causes the price to rise. Federal gasoline taxes cause the price to rise. The way to lower that price is to increase supply and cut the taxes.

The Democrats won’t do it. And there can be no other reason for it than to keep the gas prices high so the voters blame the Republicans for it in November. The Democrats (not surprisingly) are punishing the American people for their own political gain. Read the rest of this entry »

More experts speak out as to why Obama should not be President of the United States.

Who am I to disagree with them?

This video came out, uhhh, early in the, uhhh, primaries, but now that Dr. Smooth is the, umm, presumptive nominee and more people will start, uhhh, paying attention, it may be worth a careful second look.

UPDATE: Johnson is history.

Another example of that famous Obama good judgment.

From Fox News.

According to today’s Washington Post, Obama’s veep vetter Jim Johnson is linked to an accounting scandal at his former company, Fannie Mae. The newspaper reported this morning that Johnson “was the beneficiary of accounting in which Fannie Mae’s earnings were manipulated so that executives could earn larger bonuses. The accounting manipulation for 1998 resulted in the maximum payouts to Fannie Mae’s senior executives — $1.9 million in Johnson’s case — when the company’s performance that year would have otherwise resulted in no bonuses at all, according to reports in 2004 and 2006 by the Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight.”

Obama has succeeded in separating the wheat from the chaff in the Democrat party.

We hear about these groups of disaffected Hillary voters who are resolved not to vote for Obama. A full 59% of Hillary voters in the West Virginia primary said that if Obama got the nomination, they would either vote for McCain or not vote at all. Obama and the DNC are desperately trying to unite the party, and though intra-party squabbles are usually ironed out by November, this year is without precedent. One cannot assume, as they say, that past experience is an accurate predictor of future performance.

Many Hillary Democrats seem to be taking a serious, principled stand in opposing Obama. It is not that they like McCain. They just think Obama would be very bad for America. After 8 years of George W. Bush, you would think party loyalty would prevail at all costs. But you would be wrong. Read the rest of this entry »
