Black Harvard graduate students plan to host a “black-only” graduation ceremony later in May.
Approximately 125 students will participate in the ceremony, which took over a year to plan, reports the College Fix. The event is supposed to celebrate how black students have succeeded in higher education.
“This is an opportunity to celebrate Harvard’s Black excellence and Black brilliance,” Michael Huggins, a master’s student in public policy, told The Root. “It’s an event where we can see each other and our parents and family can see us as a collective, whole group. A community.”
Students raised over $27,000 to cover the cost of the ceremony and its reception. They hope to have another black-only ceremony next year that will include undergraduate students as well.
The students insist that having a ceremony just for black students isn’t a form of segregation, but a way for them to have fellowship together.
“This is not about segregation. It’s about fellowship and building a community. This is a chance to reaffirm for each other that we enter the work world with a network of supporters standing with us,” Huggins added.
Black students at Harvard have a higher graduation rate than national standards — 96 percent of the college’s black students graduate within six years, according to a 2011 report. Only 44 percent of black students graduate on a national level.
Black students at Harvard still have issues with their campus.
Harvard like the rest of the liberal leftists run collages and Universities need to be totaly defunded by 100% no more tax dollars for the brainwashers
What kind of degree is “public policy”?

So, if we want to celebrate how white students have succeeded in higher education now we can have a ‘white graduation’? And would it make it even clearer if we had separate restrooms and water fountains? What about Lunch counters, especially in Woolworths? So I guess we’ll be seeing a White Caucus in congress now?
Somehow the content of character no longer matters, it seems to only be the color of skin? Wonder what MLK Jr, thinks about that.

Let me see if I’ve got this right. They are not segregating themselves, they are only ‘having fellowship’ together. But if white students want to have fellowship with only other white students it might be so they could exclude black students? If black students only want to associate with black students, it’s fellowship. If white students only want to associate with white students, it’s racism? I think I’ve about got it.

Time was when lower IQ students dropped out, now keep lowering the standards and hand out worthless degrees. Was also a time when only men did took up womens studies, but there was no degree.

@kitt: I agree in many ways. I think schools are becoming more about the money..tuitions going up because the govt pays for it with guar student loans, etc. Many more students are being admitted on affirmative action.

An FBI director serves at the pleasure of the President. He can fire him for sneezing in the oval office if he wants. Comey’s letter confirms this.
This is typical of Dems. When Bill Clinton was elected he fired around 93 US attorneys. The media was not concerned. When GWB was elected he fired about 12 and the press went wild. Clinton also fired the FBI director and the media was not concerned. Now that Trump has done nothing unusual and totally within his rights the media and people like you are in full conspiracy mode.
