Why on earth are we having a debate about the word “thugs”?
Isn’t that an utterly appropriate term for people who set police cars and buildings ablaze, loot burning stores and capitalize on an unfortunate death by destroying a community?
And given the seriousness of the issues raised by the Baltimore riots, how did this become a linguistic discussion?
President Obama complained about the “thugs” who rampaged in Baltimore after Freddie Gray’s death in police custody. Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake complained about “thugs” as well—and was careful to spell out who she meant. She made a sharp distinction between those who protect peacefully “and the thugs who only want to incite violence and destroy our city.”
But the mayor, whose performance in this crisis might generously be described as erratic, took it back a day later.
“There are no thugs in Baltimore,” Rawlings-Blake declared. “Sometimes my own little anger translator gets the best of me.”
Non-anger translation: I took heat from the black community so I’m now disavowing my own words.
This is bullshit. Denying that this behavior is thuggish is the reason thugs in Baltimore behave as they do.

Wonder how much money the fool and saro dropped. $30 million to Ferguson to continuing rioting. All these people showed up to protest, who paid them and who arranged for their presence. This demonstration was not spontaneous but well-planned. Most were bused in from other cities.
The master plan of the fool is to incite enough riots to demand military law in the U.S.
Since the word “thug” originated with the rather destructive Thuggee cult in India, I have no clue why so-called “African-American” hustlers like Sharpton and Jackson transposed it into an anti-Black, racial epithet.
The fact that the MSM has suddenly started really pushing continual coverage of a “police killing blacks” meme, (immediately after Holder and Obama started talking schemes to nationalize (i.e. Federal government regulatory “control”) of the nations local police departments.) tells me that they are trying to work with the race hustlers at the White House and Sharpton and his ilk to start the next phase of socialist transformation.
Step by step, this administration is following past examples of socialist takeovers. While at the same time They have various groups of our military (and some foreign forces as well,) mobilized around the nation in Civil Unrest training and operation “Jade Helm” (Presumably, a skulking terrorism training exercise, but can this really be a coincidence when the majority of “Jade Helm” operations are occurring in the Southwestern United States which have been flooded with illegal immigrants since Obama’s royal decree?). Meanwhile, Obama is still gong forward with his amnesty scheme and has essentially halted deportations and his administration is working hard to ensure that most illegal aliens will be registered to vote.

@ThunderGod: The liberal thrives on changing or banning terms that cause them problems in dialogue. We have seen them try to ban the term “illegal immigrant” in reference to an immigrant that got here illegally. Recently, we have seen them try to deny the term “thug” to describe those instigated by the left to riot, violate, destroy and steal, as if to leave rational people in discussion without any terms to use but “disenchanted youths”. These people are, obviously, morons.
