I guess its heroic or sumthing to cut out of work, for a cause.

#2:

It’s called sacrificing for what you believe in. All patriots do it, no matter where on the political spectrum they reside.

Oh what a flag waver, he gets a day off and those that have spent their hard earned money to see him perform get to flush the tickets down their own genders crappers.

Shame on you, Kitt!
Springsteen said that every one of those tickets would be totally refunded.

Y’all loved the guy when he was singing “Born in the USA,” but now that he’s taken a stand against the “Only SOME of those born in the USA” mindset of the gay-hostile NC crowd, you’re ready to throw him under the bus. That’s loyalty for you.

“As long as you sacrifice someone else’s family”

Uhhhhh, what are you talking about?

Kitt said:

Kitt put it together, why are you having trouble with it?

George: because-he-cant-use BS this is a crap issue for your cause. Those people had plans for the day were looking forward to escaping the worlds troubles to listen to music. The article in Post #1, how do you keep perverts out of the mix,
I hope you would want to protect the little girls from imposter perverts, what is your solution?
Another Liberal lefty law that isn’t thought out, oh ignore the conspiracy theories line, this wont be a perverts open door.
I think there are MORE Pervs out there than gender confused.
Perhaps gays not being able to produce children have no need or mind to protect them.
So what of Young ladies?
The administration at the University of Toronto was recently enlightened on why two separate washrooms are generally established for men and women sharing co-ed residencies.

The University is temporarily changing its policy on gender-neutral bathrooms after two separate incidents of “voyeurism” were reported on campus September 15 and 19. Male students within the University’s Whitney Hall student residence were caught holding their cellphones over female students’ shower stalls and filming them as they showered.

@kitt: Kitt you are showing a real lack of being a cool guy
when a concert is cancelled the tickets are refunded
Gotta try and get out of the house more

Life is full of little inconveniences, isn’t it?

North Carolina was under no OBLIGATION to infringe upon the rights of its gay citizens (mark my words, the SCOTUS will eventually decide that they did just that) but it did so anyway. Springsteen was under no OBLIGATION to provide a service to the citizens of North Carolina that he felt a moral (religious?) obligation NOT to provide – and, contrary to YOUR claim, was willing to refund payment for accordingly. Y’all keep making the argument that it’s perfectly OK to discriminate, so y’all need to be prepared when the door swings both ways and sometimes hits you in the ass.

And the problem with the North Carolina law – and the other laws that are just like it – isn’t what it says about bathrooms, it’s what it says about discrimination being justifiable because you BELIEVE it is. So don’t go running off naked through a thistle patch in the dark over men in women’s bathrooms and visa-versa. NC linked the two completely different issues together and shoved the two into law under the cloak of darkness for a very good reason. It KNEW that the combined proposals wouldn’t stand under public scrutiny, and it KNEW that the gay discrimination part was unconstitutional. What I don’t understand is why they would jeopardize the bathroom part by attaching it to an albatross. They’ll have to re-do that part as a separate law unless they lose at court on the whole package.

@George Wells: I guess I was right the protection of women and children are of no concern to you. You dont have a solution just a complaint. whaa whaa
Springsteen signs contracts to perform I am sure his lawyer is working it out.
Life is full of little inconveniences, isn’t it? an a$$holes remark

Pulling out of a contracted engagement as Springsteen has done likely did involve a significant sacrifice for the sake of principle. Most likely it’s going to cost his organization a large sum of money. The Greensboro Coliseum holds over 20,000. Cheap seat tickets probably began at around $65 each, with more desirable seating running far higher. They won’t just lose their profits; there’s probably a financial penalty they’ll have to pay.

It’s a stupid bill. Dishonestly characterizing it as a law designed to keep perverts from exposing themselves to children in women’s bathrooms is a stupid cover for its stupidity. Anyone with a brain knows that unacceptable behavior in gender-specific public places isn’t what it’s really about.

@Greg #12:

Thanks, Greg. Kitt knows that his snarky jab about women and children is just a red herring. The NC bill and the rest that are like it are all really just anti-gay-rights efforts disguised as something… anything else. This time it was bathroom privacy, the next time it could be higher speed limits.

#11:

I’m not complaining about anything. I’m pointing out that you misrepresented the truth in your #5 post. Eat your words.

#13:

” His fans paid the price”

And they got the price refunded. What more do you want?

@George Wells: Ok they get their money back for the concert.
That doesn’t make you less of an a**hole for wanting men to be able to use a womens locker room or bathroom.Their rights end where mine begin. Its indecent, good for that state to put a statute in place to protect the ladies and children from Perverts, freaks and mentally ill.

#17:

I DON’T want for men to use women’s restrooms, and I’m NOT being an ass about it. NC was an ass for trashing gay rights ALONG with their bathroom law. The two things are not the same. Get that?

@George Wells: Good we agree then, I never thought you wanted in a ladies bathroom. It sure sounded like you didn’t want to keep other men from barging in on womens only spaces.
I am all for equal rights but not extra rights, no forced participation but no putting up signs Gays to use side entrance only kinda crap.
I read some comments that stated it would not hold up in federal court very poorly written I do not practice law so I cant make any assertions, hope this link works

#19:

Thank you for FINALLY picking up on the fact that I have NEVER argued against the bathroom part of the NC Law. If you read back, maybe on a different thread, I specifically said that the best solution would be to have single bathrooms for ALL gender-challenged people AND ANYONE ELSE WHO CHOOSES TO USE THEM (because not every child likes to pee in front of other children, no matter what their gender identification is). It is a fuss over a very little problem, as it turns out, and NO solution will prevent pervs from getting into spaces they where they don’t belong.

But yes, I think we are in agreement.

Thanks also for picking up on the little error over ticket refunds. Catch me in error, and I do the same.

I don’t know that I have ever asked for a “special” right, but I understand that there are some who think that same-sex marriage is such a right. Is it “special” if ANYONE can do it? And I argue that a homosexual’s right to marry someone of the OPPOSITE sex isn’t really a right, since by definition, such a couple would be sexually incompatible and incapable of sexually oriented love.

I agree that the anti-gay-rights provisions of these laws will ultimately be found unconstitutional. I think that is understood even by the politicians who are pushing these laws, as they want more to make a point to their constituents than to actually change what is happening in the country.

“It is colossally stupid for actors and musicians to mix politics with presentation”

It may very well BE stupid, but it happens frequently, and the people doing it have the right to do it.

@George Wells: I may be stubborn and opinionated but I do my best to stay truthful.
Springsteen is punishing his NC fans for something that they most likely had nothing to do with and didn’t know about, what an asshat. If he wanted to get the word out, write a song do a little Peter, Paul and Mary on them.
or Johnny cash it

Bryan Adams has cancelled a concert in Mississippi because he thinks the state isn’t friendly enough to the LGBT community.

Of course, he had no problem cashing in on concerts in countries like Egypt, Qatar or the United Arab Emirates where gay people get a death sentence.

This Tweet coped his schedule of concerts in countries where homosexuality is CRIMINALIZED.

Indeed, where would we all be if we didn’t have old rockers telling us what to think?
