Despite repeated warnings, Barack Obama withdrew troops from Iraq. ISIS took over Western Iraq in 2014. Today Barack Obama blamed Bush for ISIS.
“ISIS is a direct outgrowth of Al-Qaeda in Iraq that grew out of our invasion. Which is an example of unintended consequences which is why we should generally aim before you shoot.”
How sad.
And that is why Democrats should never be trusted with foreign policy.
I guess Obama hasn’t read in the paper yet that al Qaeda was in Iraq BEFORE the invasion. But, what’s facts to a liberal?
This is a phony quote. Obama never made such a statement. It’s the lead line from an AP article some hack cranked out 7/20/2007—somebody else’s spin, not Obama’s words. The bullshit had begun even back then. The quotation marks and the attribution have transformed it from misleading spin into an outright lie.

@Bill: Or that ISIS established a foothold in Syria BEFORE they established one in Iraq. Now they are establishing a foothold in Africa as well. I’m sure the messiah thinks that stems from our invasion of Iraq as well as opposed to his national security strategy, assuming it’s meant to stop the spread of terrorism.

This is what is called reporting. Happens all the time. Perhaps you should get familiar with it.
@Greg: Before the war in Iraq commenced, the big concern by the left (just one of the Bush-bashing topics) was the vacuum that would be left by toppling the Hussein regime, as if going in, wrecking the regime and leaving was the goal. Everyone knew the dangers of doing such a thing and, thus, even after the SofF agreement was established, it was well recognized the departing was dependent upon conditions on the ground, not a campaign schedule.
Then along comes Obama.
First, they do exactly this in Libya, ousting Kaddafi, giving each other high-fives, working the press, then going on vacation. Then, he repeats the error in Iraq, even as ISIS rises in Syria, against all advice and recommendation, pulls every last soldier out. Now look at it.
The genocide is a humanitarian disgrace, but it is not our concern; that is a job for the UN, which does nothing until it gets all its bribes. No, my concern is the establishment of not just one terrorist refuge, like Afghanistan was, but numerous refuges. My concern is the long-term US security and ignoring a problem until it becomes a full-scale war problem. This is what Obama leaves for whoever comes after him.
But, he doesn’t care; all he wanted was to say “I ended the war” or “I made a deal with Iran” or “I gave the Palestinians their property back”. No consideration whatsoever is given to the harmful effects of his grandstanding ignorance.
And you, Greg, support this whole-heartedly.
