classy as always. (TIC)

After watching the clip, I really don’t think this is eye rolling, as much as not talking while eating. Enough with the bashing. It cheapens us.

@Tibby:

Elbows on the table, chewing while mouth is open, shoveling food into her mouth like it is a wheelbarrow, and that cheapens us?

No, it cheapens everyone who voted for that classless woman’s husband.

Yesterday, I read an article about Michelle [Antoinette] Obama’s parade dress and how she was being compared to Jackie Kennedy. What an insult to Jackie Kennedy, who had more class in her pinkie finger than Michelle [Antoinette] Obama could ever possibly have in her entire body.

This video gives a whole new meaning to Michelle Obama “bellying up to the [government] trough.”

She IS rolling her eyes about the Speaker trying to engage her in polite dinner conversation.
After seeing this; elbows on the table, chewing while mouth is open, shoveling food into her mouth like it is a wheelbarrow, I revisited her ”All that just for a flag,” remark.
My middle brother’s entire in-law family is deaf and they all read lips.
Their consensus at the time was that was what Michelle said to her husband. (And some of them voted D.)
She’s proving to be that of low class.
The July 2008 New Yorker cover depicting the Obama’s as radicals in a radically redone White House was prescient.

@Tibby:

Everyone on Earth is calling it eyerolling. It’s classless.

What cheapens us is the constant harping on it. Call it preaching to the choir if you wish, I’m tired of it no matter how true it is. And I’m still not sure it’s rolling her eyes. I think she is replying to him, so if you want add the talking with her mouth full. I don’t care.

@Tibby: I’m tired of it no matter how true it is.

“The price of leadership is criticism.”
Laura Bush spoke about it in 2010.
She made light of some of the difficulties of being a president’s wife, such as the constant criticism directed at her family members. She joked about tabloid stories detailing her daughters’ engagement to men she’d never heard of, and even revealing that her father-in-law is a space alien.
Laura Bush called this constant criticism the “sacred music” of democracy.

But the Obama’s are notoriously thin-skinned compared with the either Bush family who served at the White House.

@Tibby:

So what you are saying is that we should not comment on the total lack of class exhibited by the First Lady? Why is that? You would think if the nation can afford $7 million for the Obama’s latest vacation in Hawaii, we could afford to give her some classes on how to conduct herself in public, as she obviously doesn’t seem to know simple manners.

While there have been many presidents whose policies I did not agree with, we are now experiencing the first time to have a First Lady who has less class than the common garden slug. And for the lapdog press to even try to equate Michelle Antoinette to Jackie Kennedy is a real insult to Jackie Kennedy who was truely a class act.

If one of my kids had shoveled food into their mouths like she was, they would have had to leave the table until they learned some manners.

And yes, she was rolling her eyes. But then, she never seems to be happy, although she is finanlly proud of her country for electing her socialist husband.

Fine. I’m not disagreeing with any of you about her manners, or her classlessness. Yes, Laura Bush commented about it, and did it with class and tact. But I can still have a different opinion as to what we are seeing – part of the whole freedom of speech thing. And I can be tired of bashing Michelle, been there done that. I’d rather have something with a little more meat newswise please.

@Tibby:

Do you not understand that one of the positions of the First Lady is to represent American womanhood? That is why so many have delved into charities, helping the helpless, etc. The First Lady is the person that the citizens of other nations look to to represent what American womanhood is all about. It’s all about image.

So, in many parts of the world people think we are nothing but a bunch of classless fat cats who have too much while they suffer. The image of our First Lady gobbling down her lunch like a Roman emperor does nothing to dispel that opinion. We have a right to expect, and she has a duty, for her to not contribute to that image.

Maybe Boehner shouldn’t poke ladies on the arm to get their full attention during formal dinners. She’s probably bringing her daughters up to have proper table manners.

@retire05:

Of course I understand. Has she done done anything in the past four years that lead you to expect her to live up to those expectations? Why keep flogging a dead horse?
I’m not going to reply anymore, I’ve stated my feelings, feel free to continue.

@Jeff D:

So one person’s bad manners excuses another person’s bad manners?

Typicl liberal thought process.

It wouldnt be so bad if she actually did anything to be more of a social person but she is one of these people that unless you are complimenting her or her friends then you arent worth talking to. The same person who was a director of something at a business but they never showed up for work or even knew how to do their job. She breeds resentment and revulsion on all levels.

@retire05:

Typicl right wing speling.

@Jeff D:

So you think bad manners on the part of one person justifies bad manners on the part of the First Lady?

So Boehner tapped her on the arm. Was she upset because he interrupted her pig fest? Or maybe she was just going for the chipmunk look shoving all that food in her mouth.

How do you justify your own bad manners?

@Jeff D:

You’re assuming that my parents didn’t bother to teach me proper table manners. Do you have one of those crystal balls that only liberals seem to be able to buy, letting you know what my manners are like?

Why don’t you answer the question? Do you think that bad manners on the part of someone justifies the bad manners of the First Lady? Since when is chomping like a cow at a formal luncheon now acceptable behavior?

Face it; Michelle Obama is probably the least classy First Lady this nation has ever had and for idiot lapdog press to equate her with the classy Jackie Kennedy is absurd.

It really bothers you that there’s a black family in the White House, doesn’t it? Don’t worry, you’ve only got 4 more years of it to deal with. Then maybe you can go back to complaining about a President Clinton.

@Jeff D:

Typical Liberal Jeff, when asked a question you dont want to answer your go off on tangents that have nothing to do with the question asked.

Is that the best you’ve got, just typical liberal responses?

Actually, I would be quite happy to see a truely black president in office, instead of the half black Marxist that resides at 1600 Pennslyvania Avenue now. Allen West comes to mind.
