On Tuesday, Georgetown law student and “reproductive rights activist” Sandra Fluke testified before the House Democratic Steering and Policy Committee to explain the obstacles female students face in acquiring birth control.
CNS News’ Craig Bannister reported that Fluke told the committee that it costs a female student $3,000 to have protected sex over a three-year stint in law school without insurance, and argued that there should be public assistance given to overcome that obstacle.
But according to Rush Limbaugh, if Fluke were given assistance from the government to have sex, she would in effect be getting paid to have sex.
“What does it say about the college co-ed [Sandra] Fluke, who goes before a congressional committee and essentially says she must be paid to have sex?” Limbaugh said. “What does that make her? It makes her a slut, right? It makes her a prostitute. She wants to be paid to have sex. She’s having so much sex she can’t afford the contraception. She wants you and me and the taxpayers to pay her to have sex. What does that make us? We’re the pimps — the johns. No, that’s right — pimp is not the right word.”
Limbaugh did backtrack somewhat after that proclamation.
“OK, so she’s not a slut,” Limbaugh said. “She’s round-heeled. I take it back.”

According to an employee at the pharmacy in Washington, D.C.’s Target store, the pharmacy sells birth control pills–the generic versions of Ortho Tri-Cyclen and Ortho-Cyclen–for $9 per month. “That’s the price without insurance,” the Target employee said. Nine dollars is less than the price of two beers at a Georgetown bar.
She wants $3,000/year.
Birth control pills cost only $108/year.
Maybe she ought to take that Econ 101 everybody talks about.

What she wants, in truth, is to be free from responsibility. She wants to have the sex that can lead to pregnancy, but have someone else be financially responsible for both preventing the pregnancy in the first place, and, if she was to get pregnant, have that someone else be responsible for ending it.
I love whiskey. The single malt stuff one gets from Scotland. I find it an enjoyable drink. However, I know that if I was to “enjoy” it too much, that unwanted things could happen. Such as; A much lighter wallet. Possible DUI. Liver damage. Other health issues related to drinking too much alcohol. Changes in behaviour leading to poor relationships with my wife, kids, friends. So, I moderate my drinking. It’s called being responsible for one’s own actions.

Getting suckered into more talk about contraception? And keeping it classy by attacking the woman’s morals rather than her misplaced sense of entitlement. Double lose. Let Santorum cover this if he wants to rise to the bait, but for everyone else I ‘d suggest ignoring it and going back to discussing the economy and the budget.
bbart, I’d say that Santorum’s plummet in Michigan polls – from double digit lead to loss in the primary over just 10 days – is indicative of just how much of a loser this has proven to be for him. The dive started when this hit the news, and the more Santorum talked, the lower the numbers went.
I guess passion must come with blindfolds….
But I’d say that you and I, who have both expressed the off tangent path as a losing issue, are a minority here.

I think it is good for candidates to say what is in their hearts and minds. It might lead to some not getting elected… but then again isn’t that good that is his being honest?
Maybe you should have listened to her testimony, instead of relying of ‘Rush-bo’ for your information. I used to listen to him just to hear what the enemy was saying during the Clinton Presidency. He made some degree of sense then—but anyone who listens to him now…. On this issue he sounds like a dirty old man whose not getting enough from his…what is it…his third wife now? He wants to watch college coeds perform sex act? I understand he was caught coming back from Costa Rica with 2900 male sexual enhancement pills.

Well scratch one less woman from the dating list for me, I don’t want to be in the same room with this coed. This sickens me greatly. 3,000 dollars? Really? How about not getting busy and focus on your degree? How about having some restraint and control and being responsible of your own actions?

I wonder if her parents are proud of her? Proudly testifying for not just her need to have sex like a rabbit but, that everyone else has to pay for it. I listened to the actual “testimony” (agitprop / red herring / distraction) and was amazed at how much effort the modern liberal law school student MUST put into being a libertine.
