It’s the Supreme Court, stupid

Hugh Hewitt:

Of course I am voting for Donald Trump. You should be too if you are a conservative. Let me break this down into three arguments, the first of which is Trump’s trump card on the #NeverTrumpers.

If Hillary Clinton wins, the Left gavels in a solid, lasting, almost certainly permanent majority on the Supreme Court. Every political issue has a theoretical path to SCOTUS, and only self-imposed judicial restraint has checked the Court’s appetite and reach for two centuries.

That restraint will be gone when HRC’s first appointee is sworn in. Finished.

This is not hyperbole. I have the advantage of having taught Con Law for 20 years, of having argued before very liberal appellate judges like Judge Stephen Reinhardt of the very liberal Ninth Circuit, of practicing with the best litigators in the land, and I know what a very liberal SCOTUS means: conservatism is done. It cannot survive a strong-willed liberal majority on the Supreme Court. Every issue, EVERY issue, will end up there, and the legislatures’ judgments will matter not a bit.

So vote for Hillary Clinton (or sit it out) and then prepare for the deluge of court-ordered solutions to every social problem, bench-drawn congressional districts and extraordinary deference to every agency of the federal government combined with a sweeping away of federalism.

Second, but much harder to see or understand, Hillary Clinton is thoroughly compromised by the Russians (or the Chinese, or the Iranians, or all of them). Deny the testimony of expert witnesses like former CIA Acting Director Mike Morell or Rudy Guiliani if you want, or the implications of the distribution of DNC emails via the WikiLeaks front, but just know everything she sent and received on her security-free “private” server is in the hands of the bad guys.

A very important point in support of holding one’s nose and voting for Trump.

I took the time today to go to the hag’s website to read what is posted there on her “positions” on issues. What a collection of vague glittering words of progressive generalities.

Contrast Trump’s description of his position on reforming the tax code, where he lays out specifically cutting from 7 down to 4 brackets, and lowering the top tax rate to 25% (from the current 39.6%), to Hillary’s multiple vague declarations of raising taxes on the “rich”, on corporations, and the death tax.

Remember how Obama lied when he said obamacare wouldn’t pay for abortions, nor cover illegal aliens? Hillary’s website explicitly states she wants to expand government healthcare regardless of immigration status. Her website also calls for “protecting funding” for Planned Parenthood.

Wikileaks claims that they have hacked copies of the missing Clinton emails showing her knowledge of – and purported support for – US arms shipments to the terrorist opposition forces in Libya and Syria. This is the candidate the demofascists want in charge of US national security?

These points, and the point about future SCOTUS nominations, only scratch the surface of her abhorrent insuitability for ANY government office, much less the Oval Office.

What is astounding is how the left manages to come up with candidates that are each more reprehensible and thoroughly unfit for office than the last feculent piece of power-hungry, reprehensibly dishonorable and dishonest offal to run for office.

@Pete: I believe that the Clinton Supporters from the left made the mistake of rubbing shoulders with the Clinton’s. I would bet that through the Clinton foundation, correspondence through Hiller’s unapproved server and other issues, the Clintons have dirt on so many people. They sold their soul to the devil and now they must pay !

The SCOTUS are not stupid, we have allowed them to become unconstitutional, they were never suppose to change law, create law, but decide on a case before them if it was lawful based upon constitution. Just another case that Congress has become lazy and giving away authority that only should belong to them. When it tries to reclaim its rightful constitutional powers libs scream to high heaven, Dirty air grandma off the cliff BS.

@kitt: Good point, kitt.
There’s been a whole lot of abdication on the part of the US Legislative houses (Congress and Senate).
And ”Nature abhors a vacuum.”
So, whoever gets there first, Executive Branch or judicial Branch, takes the territory.
Obama has taken quite a bit.
And the court has taken some, too.
Can the Congress reclaim their Constitutional responsibility?
Only if they are all more willing to do their homework.
Recently the House lamented a particular Representative who retired.
Why?
Because he was one of the only ones who really understood Parliamentary procedure!
Congress:
Take a class!
Get the Parliamentary Rules for Dummys book.
But quit abdicating your power!
