Ian Mercer, the father of Chris Harper Mercer, spoke to CNN’s Ryan Young and said his heart goes out to the victims’ families for the loss they’ve suffered.

Mercer did speak at some length about guns, wondering how his son got them in the first place and saying he had no idea he had any weapons:

“How on earth could he compile 13 guns? How can that happen, you know? They talk about gun laws, they talk about gun control. I’m not trying to say that’s to blame for what happened, but if Chris hadn’t been able to get ahold of 13 guns it wouldn’t have happened.”

Is there a proposed gun control law to take over the jobs of parents?
