Chris Matthews on Trump: “We nailed him!”

Loading

Could this be the end of the Summer of Trump? Both MSNBC’s Chris Matthews and HBO’s Bill Maher wouldn’t be surprised. “We nailed him,” Matthews said last night on Real Time With Bill Maher, crowing about MSNBC’s playing – and replaying – Donald Trump’s non-response response to a supporter’s ludicrous birther assertions and Islamophobic aspersions.

During Real Time‘s mostly-Trump discussion Friday, Maher recalled how just days before he’d teased Hardball host Matthews about MSNBC’s Trump obsession, “and you said that’s because you want to be there when it all implodes.” Maher wondered whether Trump’s seeming acquiescence to a bigoted questioner during a New Hampshire rally Thursday signaled the presidential hopeful’s “peak.”

“We caught him,” Matthews responded, explaining that he and his MSNBC crew were “trying to figure out whether to stick with” Trump’s New Hampshire speech, which had been proceeding without much incident. When Trump announced he’d be taking audience questions, Matthews said, “I said stay with it because we don’t know what’s going to happen. And then he comes back with that birther thing, the President is not an American, the whole routine. I said we’re going to go with this.”

What ”proof” has Matthews (or any of his Lefty media) that Obama is anything he says he is?

In August 2008 at Rick Warren’s Saddleback Church in California, Obama made the claim he is Christian twice in one sentence. This profession came in response to Warren’s question on marriage.

“I believe marriage is the union between a man and a woman,” said Obama. “Now for me as a Christian,” and here he paused to let the applause die down, “for me as a Christian, it’s also a sacred union.” At this juncture, he pointed skyward and added, “God’s in the mix.”

Who could possibly have doubted so sincere a profession of faith? Obama adviser David Axelrod certainly did. “Opposition to gay marriage was particularly strong in the black church,” Axelrod wrote of Obama in his memoir, Believer: My Forty Years in Politics, “and as he ran for higher office, he grudgingly accepted the counsel of more pragmatic folks like me, and modified his position to support civil unions rather than marriage, which he would term a ‘sacred union.’”

In those two words, “sacred union,” is the rub. Obama not only lied, but he also used “God” to sell the lie, a stunning bit of blasphemy in whatever faith Obama professes.

For Obama, lying about his faith was apparently no big deal. As he told Axelrod after that question on same-sex marriage, “I’m just not very good at bulls––ing.”

NO proof
Matthews is an idiot-hard core banger for the left and a dirt bag democrat sucking down all monies offer him.
Half of the garbage he spins is baseless.
Mahar runs a close second on stupidity
True story, Matthews once did a whole show with his pants zipper down-class act

The left is apparently so aware of their inability to damage Trump that they salivate at the prospect of Trump doing it to himself… which, of course, he just might do. However, this ain’t it.

Matthews, like the con artist Rather before him, simply believes in the evil of Trump so completely that he will create the “evidence” of it if he has to… in order to prove how “true” it is.

“Donald Trump’s non-response response to a supporter’s ludicrous birther assertions and Islamophobic aspersions.”
Yes, refusing to answer this one question will destroy Trump’s campaign.
Chris Matthews sure nailed Trump. It’s all over- Trump might as well go home.
Because to one question, he didn’t respond.
Yep. That’s enough to end the race.
Because Chris Matthews said so.

We all know that Matthews’ favorites answer all questions put to them, right?
I am so sick of this crap.

The ridiculous thing is that people actually listen to these people as if they had valid opinions about anything. Cocktail hour comments become deep analysis; and, as the saying goes the Media is the Message. Max Headroom was before his time and more of a prophet than any of these puffed up pigeons.

@Petercat:

Because to one question, he didn’t respond.
Yep. That’s enough to end the race.
Because Chris Matthews said so.

Funny that Mathews hasn’t applied his standards and reasoning to Hillary, the queen of refusing to answer questions.

@Ditto: Obviously, to a liberal lying one’s ass off on a regular basis does not make that person a bad candidate.
