Cherokee Nation to Elizabeth Warren: Drop dead

Loading

Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., couldn’t possibly have thought this week would end with her apologizing to the Cherokee Nation. But at the rate things are going, that’s exactly what she’ll have to do to get out of the mess that she has created for herself.

The Massachusetts senator kicked off Monday by sharing the results of a DNA test she and her fans in the news media say vindicates her from criticisms that she tried to benefit undeservedly from claiming minority status when she taught at Harvard Law School. Warren has claimed for years that she is of Cherokee Indian descent.

However, the DNA report shows that Warren is maybe six or 10 generations removed from having any ties to the Native American ancestry, if she has any at all. Depending on whether her great-great-great-great-grandmother was indeed a Native American, which neither the report nor Warren can say, the senator would be 1/64th Native American. But she could just as easily be 1/1,024th Native American. Then there’s the problem that the study wasn’t based on Native American DNA from within the United States, but on Mexican, Peruvian, and Colombian DNA.

In other words, Warren’s claim to Cherokee heritage is, uh, thin, to put it politely. It’s so thin, in fact, that the actual Cherokee Nation released a statement Monday, nuking Warren’s supposedly vindicating report from orbit.

“A DNA test is useless to determine tribal citizenship. Current DNA tests do not even distinguish whether a person’s ancestors were indigenous to North or South America. Sovereign tribal nations set their own legal requirements for citizenship, and while DNA tests can be used to determine lineage, such as paternity to an individual, it is not evidence for tribal affiliation,” said Cherokee Nation Secretary of State Chuck Hoskin Jr.

His statement added, “Using a DNA test to lay claim to any connection to the Cherokee Nation or any tribal nation, even vaguely, is inappropriate and wrong. It makes a mockery out of DNA tests and its legitimate uses while also dishonoring legitimate tribal governments and their citizens, whose ancestors are well documented and whose heritage is proven. Sen. Warren is undermining tribal interests with her continued claims of tribal heritage.”

And to think that this day began with Warren attempting to dunk on President Trump with the results of her DNA test.

The senator’s report is a massive self-own. By putting numbers to her ancestral claims, and by revealing just how thin her ties to the Cherokee Nation really are, the senator has shined a blinding spotlight on the absurdity of a mess that is 100 percent of her own making. There is no scenario where the fact that she was referred to as Harvard Law School’s ” first woman of color” or the fact that she described herself as a ” minority” for several years on a law professors’ listingdo not feel like cruel jokes, especially considering that the best she can say is that she is maybe — maybe! — 1/64th Native American.

The test retroactively raises serious questions about why Warren’s two former employers, Harvard University and the University of Pennsylvania, listed her as “Native American” on federal forms. The report also casts well-deserved doubt on the senator’s oft-repeated claim that her parents were forced to elope because her supposedly Cherokee mother was ostracized by her father’s family.

It’s probably them cheekbones. That gets them every time.

Does Warren drop the matter altogether and admit error, seeking forgiveness from a marginalized people?

She just drops it and hopes it goes away. When it doesn’t, she plays the woman card and calls Trump a bully.

Funny thing, yesterday morning, the NYT feed on my Facebook had the story with the original erroneous calculations. I posted I suspected something had probably been tampered with. When the correction came out, the NYT article was nowhere to be found. I had to go on the NYT page to find it, way, way down the line. They never posted a correction. No doubt THEY wanted it to go away and be forgotten.

.0009 sort of breed

It would be easy for Warren to say due to one of her forefathers living in Indian Territory being on a census paper she mistook that as being partial Cherokee, but living there and actually being an Indian is different even children born in Indian territory by 2 white parents cant make the claim. Nope she has to go on the warpath and triple down, on a mistake. I bought some lake property on Legend lake, it doesnt make me a Menomonee.

She is just as rediculous as Johnny Depp playing Tonto in that Liberal movie version of The Lone Ranger looking like a scary circus clown with a stuffed bird on his head just what were they smoking before that made this movie?

the testing was done in a private lab that has the ability to stretch out coding. having been done in a commercial lab the cut off point would have nerve shown anything. she is a fraud and needs to be removed from the senate.

If a kid that was born on USA soil to ILLEGAL can claim Birthright Citizenship, then Warren can claim the same if her GGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGrandmother gave birth on Indian land. /s.

When you go to the polls on November 6, stand your ground

Beating John Lewis to a pulp on the Edmund Pettis Bridge and using fire hoses and police dogs on voting rights protestors is so 20th century. While racists like George Wallace and Bull Conner used brute force, 21st century Republican white nationalists use computers and the courts, but the goal is the same: stop non-white people from voting through any means necessary.

Three weeks before Americans vote in the November 6 midterms, elections are being stolen in slow motion across the United States. The GOP candidate for governor in Georgia, Brian Kemp, is also Georgia’s secretary of state, and he has purged a half-million names from Georgia’s voter rolls and refuses to recognize over 50,000 newly registered voters. His opponent, state Rep. Stacey Abrams, happens to be a black woman. The NAACP has sued in federal court, claiming he is illegally rigging the election in his favor.

Just outside of Atlanta, Gwinett County, Georgia is 60 percent non-white. Officials there are rejecting almost 10 percent of all absentee ballots, claiming the signatures on the ballots “don’t match” the voter’s signature. Thirty-seven percent of all absentee ballot rejections in Georgia come from that one county, and voters there have also sued in federal court.

In North Dakota, thanks to a white GOP legislature and a favorable U.S. Supreme Court ruling on October 9, Native Americans will probably be prevented from voting in a blatant attempt to defeat incumbent U.S. Senator Heidi Heidkamp, a Democrat who narrowly won her 2012 Senate election thanks to strong support from residents of the state’s four Sioux and Chippewa reservations.

The North Dakota law, upheld by the Supreme Court a week ago, says valid photo voter IDs must contain a street address and that IDs with a Post Office Box are invalid. The vast majority of reservations in North Dakota don’t have street addresses, so each home is listed as a P.O. Box. So now, North Dakota won’t accept a driver’s license or even a U.S. passport as a valid ID if it has a P.O. Box. Think about that. If you’re a Native American in North Dakota, even a United States passport isn’t a valid ID.

Do you really believe Native Americans think Elizabeth Warren is the problem? They know who is doing the bullshit mentioned above.

@Greg: officials have cited nine “suspected cases” of double voting, But typical the democrats in power do nothing to solve the issue, No street addresses how do they determine where to send an ambulance. And the moron who cant figure out why a P.O. box isnt good enough I guess he doesnt know I can get a P.O. Box in every arbitrary post office, everywhere.
These people are not the ignorant savages that the Greg makes them out to be, they will be able to, like the poor ignorant negroes, vote.
https://tmchippewa.com/tribal-government/
Lets hope they vote Jobs not Mobs.

@Greg: Yes, Democrats used to suppress the vote by enacting laws preventing blacks from voting and using violence. Now, they utilize fraud and illegal immigrants to disenfranchise citizen-voters. Indeed, they are more sophisticated, but the goal is still the same; stealing political power.

Yes, Democrats used to suppress the vote by enacting laws preventing blacks from voting and using violence.

Yeah, and around 150 years ago some white Americans used to live easy lives on the whip-scarred backs of their black slave laborers. We became a better nation. What we’re talking about in post #6 is what Republican politicians are doing to oppressed Native American people NOW, as we’re speaking.

The GOP has been taken over by a cabal of liars, frauds, hypocrites and thieves who are abusing the powers the people have foolishly given them to enlarge themselves and further extend their powers. Read the bold-letter paragraphs in post #6 and tell me that’s how things are supposed to be in America. And then tell me again how outrageously Elizabeth Warren has mistreated Native Americans by claiming to have a Cherokee ancestor around six generations back, as the morally bankrupt Jackass in Chief uses her traditional point of family pride as a means of personal attack.

@Greg:

Yeah, and around 150 years ago some white Americans used to live easy lives on the whip-scarred backs of their black slave laborer.

Again… Democrats.

Cleaning up voting rolls is NOT suppressing votes; it is eliminating fraud. A fraudulent vote suppresses a legitimate vote, something the left fears. If Democrats weren’t so reliant on fraud and afraid of legitimate voting, they would contribute to securing the voter rolls and assuring every vote is a legitimate vote. Instead, they politicize it (as they do everything) and try to delay or avoid it.

Warren lying about being a Native American minority to secure jobs has NOTHING to do with voting, except that her trying to cover up her corruption and lies is necessary to keep from LOSING votes.

You don’t see Republicans using the Intelligence Community to conduct illegal surveillance upon political foes in an attempt to win elections or concocting phony investigations to try and stain an opponent before a vote. That’s a Democrat province.

Again… Democrats.

Again, over 150 years ago—long before the civil rights movement and the great political roll-reversal that turned the South republican.

It’s what people are doing now that matters. Voters don’t have the power to change the past. (That power is presently reserved for right-wing historical revisionists.)

@Greg:

Again, over 150 years ago—long before the civil rights movement and the great political roll-reversal that turned the south republican.

Denying responsibility of the Democrat role in institutionalized racism and, instead, blaming it on everyone else is noting but ongoing racism. The left continues to use racism as an important and vital political tool.

It’s what people are doing now that matters.

Indeed. Democrats still utilize racism and slavery, only in different forms and with media support.

Read the bold letter paragraphs. That’s the reality. You can talk circles around them—which is basically all you ever do—but it doesn’t change a thing. That’s what the GOP is actually doing. Elizabeth Warren’s claim to have a Cherokee ancestor is not the outrage.

@Greg: What part of “voter fraud” do you not understand? All this is a DIRECT RESULT of liberal voter fraud. YOU’VE brought this down upon the people. AND, it has NOTHING to do with Warren lying to get a job that belongs to someone else.

“Probably” is liberal-speak for “it will never happen, but be fearful and vote for corrupt liberals anyway”.

What part of “voter fraud” do you not understand?

The +99.99 percent of it that only exists in republican propaganda messages.

Entirely credible studies have repeatedly demonstrated that voter fraud has virtually NO statistical impact on U.S. elections. The number of proven examples of actual fraudulent votes cast is statistically insignificant, even after untold millions have been spent in an effort to find them.

Voter suppression, on the other hand, is demonstrably how the elderly white males who dominate the Republican Party—and much of the nation through it—cling to power. They’ve become so desperate, as the racial and ethnic demography of America inevitably changes, that they’ll even support an amoral, pathologically lying fraud like Donald Trump, even after having repeatedly called him for what he is themselves before his election.

Here’s a timely message.

@Greg: Warren outed herself its a beautiful campaign move like Heidis strategy of outing rape survivors by printing the names in an ad.
911 systems require a physical address the tribe needs to modernize a little for the safety of the people. I have seen all the things the Democrats tell the tribes are needed, centers ect they sit empty and unused most of the time, a gazebo for the elders, a skate park? Perhaps teaching needed employment skills grants for those wanting to start their own businesses on the Reservation.

@Greg: Democrat voter fraud ring caught in Tarrant Co.

Liberals claim that which does not exist is costing them votes
http://freebeacon.com/politics/progressives-sound-alarm-voter-fraud/

Actually, the idea that voter fraud is not widely known and recognized is a liberal fantasy, akin to Trump’s Russian collusion.

Voter suppression, on the other hand, is demonstrably how the elderly white males who dominate the Republican Party

Show me the statistics of your fabled “voter suppression” affecting the outcome of an election. Voter fraud is TARGETED to a specific race, candidate and party. If suppression were to be employed as you describe it, it would affect voters of BOTH parties. Voter fraud, proven to exist, makes much more sense than your suppression fantasy. Again, what does any of this have to do with Warren shooting herself in the foot (with an arrow) with her own dishonest stupidity? Not surprising liberals would still support her after being caught in a racist lie.

Oh, and Rob Reiner is a liberal nut detached from reality. Not surprising you listen to the likes of that meathead.

While calling it an organized ring, the attorney general’s office could not say if investigation was ongoing or if additional indictments could be expected.

Nor, I imagine, could he say why an investigation involving a 2016 incident is being rolled out in the media shortly before an election 2 years later.

The indictments show several of the ballots in question were for Democratic candidates.

Several were for Democratic candidates? My goodness! Had he not just speculated that “hundreds or thousands” were involved.

Republicans and their “massive voter fraud” claim is the same b.s. they predictably begin pushing before every election, while they totally ignore the fully documented voter suppression crap they’re doing on a national level, and not giving a rat’s rear end about a documented. large-scale Russian social media operation to put Donald Trump in the White House. They’re always spewed out through the same right-wing media sources.

What is it, exactly, when a state decides not to recognize any ID that has a PO box address, in a situation where every Native American home on a reservation only has a PO box as its mailing address? How could a U.S. Passport that indicates citizenship status, has a photo, and has been run through Homeland Security screening not be up to their standard?

What it is, is methodical, calculated voter suppression, based on the realization that they’ve given targeted populations every reason to vote Democratic.

@Greg: No one thinks ALL or even MOST has been uncovered and stopped. Voter fraud is REAL. And, it always heads in one direction. And idea why liberals rely on voter fraud so much? Sort of like, why do they rely on corruption and lying over programs and policies that benefit the country?

What is it, exactly, when a state decides not to recognize any ID that has a PO box address, in a situation where every Native American home on a reservation only has a PO box as its mailing address?

Um… a response to fraud schemes that register numerous “voters” to untraceable PO boxes?

What is real is that Trump America is angry and paranoid, and their anger and paranoia can be played like a piano, using the same old sheet music again and again. Voter fraud! Socialists! Unions! Violent Democrat Mobs! Mexicans, Black People, Gay People, and Uppity Women! They’re all coming to get you, and only Trump can prevent it!

No need to be worried about Russian intentions, however, or personal financial ties with a Saudi regime that dismembers Washington Post journalists in a foreign embassy, or the fact that Trump’s stimulation of an economy not needing it at the cost of a trillion-dollar-a-year deficit and escalating trade wars may ignite inflation and blow up 94 consecutive months of job growth, most of which occurred during the administration of his predecessor.

Why does the correction of “rampant voter fraud,” as conducted by shifty-eyed republicans, always involve the suppression of populations most likely to vote Democratic? By what stretch of the imagination is it acceptable for a Georgia candidate for governor to be the official in charge of “seeing to the fairness” of his own damn election?

Um… a response to fraud schemes that register numerous “voters” to untraceable PO boxes?

The PO boxes refer to specific houses, with specific people living in them, because there are no street addresses. How are you supposed to properly identify yourself, when having a street address on your ID is not even an option? What’s the problem with a U.S. passport as ID? Anyone who isn’t an idiot can see that the requirement is complete bullshit.

@Greg:

News flash, Greggie Gullible, even on the rez each house has a 911 physical address. Federal election laws allow for a voter registration card to be mailed to a P.O. address ONLY if there is a physical address on record.

I just love it when you work so hard to prove what an idiot you are.

The 2015 situation for the Navajo Nation is probably similar to that to the Standing Rock Sioux.

Home Addresses On Navajo Nation Are Rare, Officials Working To Change That

The fact that you’ve recently been assigned a conventional residential address for 911 purposes doesn’t mean your valid state-issued ID has been updated to show it. You might have had no need to do so. North Dakota driver’s licenses, for example, are generally valid for 6 years.

Jeez, I guess even an idiot can figure that one out.

@Greg: The addresses are available now NPC repeat word for word your little Wretched Madcow rantathon.

@Greg: As soon as you start worrying about the 10’s of thousands of lawful voters the Democrat’s disenfranchise with illegal immigrant voters, I’ll start worrying about your Navajo’s.

Yeah, I understand Trump claims that’s why he lost the popular election to Hillary Clinton by 3 million votes, even with the assistance of Putin’s Russian intelligence service.

Native Americans are U.S. citizens, amazingly enough. So are black residents of Georgia. And Puertorriqueños, who become eligible to vote as soon as they take up residence in any of the 50 states. Maybe somebody should have thought of that.

@Greg: Nice stay to the script, no original thought

@Greg:

In 1992, William Jefferson Clinton won the election with only 43% of the popular vote. Don’t remember you b!tching about that.

As to your article about Navajos; perhaps you should have read the last line which was:

“Having an address also makes it easier for Tso to qualify for a home loan, register to vote and even have a pizza delivered.”

Please, continue to prove what an idiot you are.

@Greg:

Native Americans are U.S. citizens, amazingly enough. So are black residents of Georgia.

Trump’s support among blacks has almost tripled since 2016. Why would he suppress them?

The left’s claim about voter ID is that it is too difficult for minorities to get the proper ID. In Chicago, they are handing out ID’s to minorities and illegal immigrants if… wait for it… they have sufficient identification. So, is it only possible for the to get an ID in Chicago or are liberals simply lying?

Russians, Russians, Russians. Waa, waa, waa. Lie, lie, lie. Same old loop.

Maybe you should explain to this guy why his relatives can’t vote.

@Greg: Im sure the tribe will be ready to cast their votes, quit trying to force your victimhood on a proud people.

Trump’s support among blacks has almost tripled since 2016. Why would he suppress them?

Do you mean they’ve now become a double digit number?

A recent republican radio ad, written for black voters by somebody who imagines they’re as stupid as Trump rally attendees. There’s nothing quite as winning as insulting your target audience’s intelligence.

@Greg: Yup too dumb to get to the dmv for a free ID we know none of them are smart enough already have valid drivers license. Equal to the dems thinking the Cherokee are ignorant savages unable to organize with the 911 system to get valid addresses. Keep trying your soft racism is well known.

@Greg: Who says they can’t vote? If they are properly registered to vote and quality, they CAN VOTE.

@Deplorable Me: The 24 thousand illegals in California registered to vote , oopsie, doesnt supress the citizen of all heritage vote at all.

@kitt: Luckily, there’s NO voter fraud anywhere. Right?

@Deplorable Me: Of of course not, the Dems so kind to assist the elderly in Texas vote the way the Dems wish.

@Deplorable Me:

Who says they can’t vote? If they are properly registered to vote and quality, they CAN VOTE.

Perhaps anyone who has difficulty understanding could have someone with better reading comprehension skills read the two paragraphs in bold text, and then explain what they mean in simplified English.

@Greg: As I explained before, you probably need to look up the meaning of the word “probably”.

What they do is allow them to vote, but their votes are provisional. Then, the validity of the person voting is checked out and if everything is on the square, their vote is counted. No one is denied their right to vote.

Again, if Democrats were not out creating bogus voter registrations and using bogus addresses, none of this would be necessary. Why do Democrats employ so much voter fraud and then complain the loudest when the fraud is opposed?

Georgia Purged About 107,000 People From Voter Rolls: Report

Even by Georgia standards, the voter purge of late July 2017 was remarkable. In a single day, more than half a million people — 8 percent of Georgia’s registered voters — were cut from the voter rolls. Republican Secretary of State Brian Kemp, an avid supporter of President Donald Trump who has described himself as a “politically incorrect conservative,” oversaw the removals eight months after he’d declared himself a candidate for governor.

The purge was noteworthy for another reason: For an estimated 107,000 of those people, their removal from the voter rolls was triggered not because they moved or died or went to prison, but rather because they had decided not to vote in prior elections, according to an APM Reports analysis. Many of those previously registered voters may not even realize they’ve been dropped from the rolls. If they show up at the polls on Nov. 6 to vote in the heated Georgia governor’s race, they won’t be allowed to cast a ballot.

Kemp’s opponent, Democrat Stacey Abrams, is vying to become the first African-American woman in U.S. history to serve as a governor. The state has undergone a dramatic influx of African Americans and Latinos whose votes could challenge Republican dominance, and her campaign is trying to turn out people of color, who are more likely to be infrequent voters. If the race is close, the July 2017 purge could affect the outcome.

The APM Reports analysis is the first estimate of the so-called “use it or lose it” policy’s possible impact in Georgia. While 107,000 people may seem like a small number in a state with a population of 10.4 million, elections have been decided by far smaller margins. For instance, the 2016 presidential election was decided in favor of Donald Trump by a total of 77,744 votes in Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania.

Using someone’s decision not to vote as the trigger to remove that person from the rolls is a highly controversial — yet legal — tactic that voting rights advocates say is a potential tool for voter suppression. And its use is on the rise.

APM Reports found that at least nine states — most of them with Republican leadership, including the key battlegrounds of Georgia and Ohio — have purged an estimated hundreds of thousands of people from the rolls for infrequent voting since the 2014 general election. States with these policies are removing voters at some of the highest rates in the nation, no matter the reason.

@Greg: Again, anyone with a voter registration (which was issued long ago) can vote. If they are not on the voter rolls, their vote will be taken under advisement and the validity of the vote will be checked out.

But, we know where the finger points, don’t we?

Ghost Voters

https://www.digitaltrends.com/computing/georgia-voter-fraud-lawsuit/

Maybe Democrats should stop cheating?

@Greg: Georgia adopted the “use it or lose it” law in the early 1990s — under Democratic leadership — following the adoption of the National Voter Registration Act (NVRA), which was passed in the first year of the Clinton administration to boost voter registration and participation.
They were purged for failure to vote and respond to a notice.
Because the Democrats have never kept promises or helped A lot of our race is basically wondering is it really worth it,” he Cornelius Ponder III, a pastor and Moultrie city councilman said. “I don’t believe that this generation believes that their votes really matter.

@Greg: She is called “Pocahontas” to mock her lying about being a minority to get preferential treatment. Also known as “Racist Liar” and “What Comes Out Of A Bull’s Ass”.

Only in America can Democrats exploit minorities they use for political purposes, lie about their “victimization”, then ignore them between elections.

@Deplorable Me, #44:

Trump is a total a-hole. Nobody seems to pick up on the fact that he was making his brainless Pocahontas wisecrack to three elder Navajo code talkers in front of a portrait of Andrew Jackson, who signed the Indian Removal Act. I assure you, they picked up on it, as did their families.

@Greg: You don’t think real Native Americans take offense when someone LIES about being Native American to gain economic advantage? Oh, that’s right… you ACCEPT racism as a political necessity. Sorry, I forgot.

“White Privilege” wasn’t enough for Warren; she had to pretend to be Cherokee to get a job. Yeah, she’s your kind of candidate, alright.

I believe they took offense at Donald Trump’s inappropriate remarks, as a family member of a Navajo Code Talker publicly stated. The Navajo Nation commented on Trump’s cultural insensitivity.

They have very little reason to like Donald Trump, and little difficulty spotting a liar. They’ve dealt with plenty of them over the year.

Navajo Nation sues Trump over Utah monument reduction

It’s ludicrous when Trump followers hop up on their soap boxes to deliver lectures on what minorities think, while the people they’ve elected work to keep those same minorities from having a say at the ballot boxes.

@Greg: Hmmm… well, a direct descendant of Pocahontas says she is offended by Warren stealing their culture for her own greed and profit.

It’s ludicrous when Trump followers hop up on their soap boxes to deliver lectures on what minorities think, while the people they’ve elected work to keep those same minorities from having a say at the ballot boxes.

Democrats are leaning they no longer own minorities like they used to rely on. Blacks and Hispanics are leaving the Democrats in droves because they realize the Democrats simply use them for votes, then discard them until the next election. Ideally, in between, some of them can be killed in such a way as the left can profit off their deaths and misery, but mostly they just shelve them until needed again.
