Cause of Benghazi Attack Mattered . . . When Cause Was YouTube Video

Eliana Johnson @ NRO:

The most hostile moment of this morning’s hearing on Benghazi came when Senator Ron Johnson pressed Secretary Clinton on the Obama administration’s ever-changing narrative about what caused the attack on our consulate.

“Do you disagree with me that a simple phone call to those evacuees [from the consulate] to determine what happened wouldn’t have ascertained immediately that there was no protest?” Johnson asked. “That was a piece of information that could have been easily, easily obtained within hours, if not days.” Clinton replied that the “last thing” she wanted to do was to “interfere with any other process that was already going on.” Right, that sounds like an awful thing to do.

Her patience exhausted, or so it seemed, Clinton said at last that whether we have “four dead Americans” as a result of “a protest” or “guys out for a walk one night who decided they’d go kill some Americans” doesn’t matter, and that it’s less important today why the attack was perpetrated than to bring the perpetrators “to justice.”

Setting aside Clinton’s bizarre decision to assign varying weights to these matters, her response is uncharacteristically flippant for someone of her stature. Isn’t it essentialwhy four Americans were murdered, and why this information wasn’t promptly or accurately conveyed to the American people? Wasn’t answering that question one of the central purposes of today’s hearing?

Obama calls them ”folks.”
Here Hillary calls them ”some guys.”
Too bad they can’t call them what they are: TERRORISTS.
Meanwhile only that film maker is behind bars!

And Hillary also put her foot in it when she claimed that waving an al Qaeda flag at all these various demonstrations as well as raising one over our embassy was not indicative that more security might be needed.
No.
The mere unopposed presence of al Qaeda in Egypt, Libya, Syria, Yemen, Mali, Nigeria, Jordan, Gaza and more means all is well.
Keep wasting our State Dept dollars on GREEN cars too flimsy for our own diplomatic corps to ride in.
There’s where the money all went.

We must keep in mind that Hillary has had several months to rehearse what she will say, and every possible question her handlers could think of would be asked has been rehearsed. For the ones they didn’t think of, change the subject.

Why are the families of the 4 that were killed so quiet? I would think they would be calling for a response.

@Old Guy:

That’s what I’d like to know, why so quiet? I don’t like it, it worries me. Also, why aren’t we hearing anything of the survivors of the attack? That worries me too.

More and more I’m feeling it was staged more than a rogue attack. It would have been pulled off, But then the men on the ground, not being a part of the script, refused to stand down. The whole theatrical bit spun out of control as the attackers started dying at the hands of those two brave Americans. Could it be a false flag operation set-up by the admin? The capture of a state department member being released by the captors because of Obama’s greatness at being a leader, just before the election …. naa, could never be something like that ??

@m00pa:
The incessant demand by Egypt and all of al Qaeda for the release of the Blind Sheik who was behind the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center could have ended had a living Ambassador Stevens been traded for him.

I don’t trust BHO and his minions at all. It could have been a staged event. But why haven’t any relatives bitched? Paid off?

@ Nan G,

Exactly! … I have no proof, just a hunch…. From the pages of ‘Audacity of Hope’: “I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.” The quote comes from page 261 of the paperback edition.

While in the military I served in ‘force protection’ doing tasks such as security audits, escorting diplomats, and responding to actions like Bengazi. Now, it seems, there are individuals out in the fronteer on thier own. One of the things that made working for America anywhere in the world more comfortable was knowing if the crap hit the fan, someone was comming, maybe too late to change the outcome, but someone was comming to help you. Most in regard to the dept. of state is seemingly upside down now-a-days. I’m sure the admin had hopes and designs to sweep Bengazi away as they have with many other dirt piles.

I’m truely concerned for the republic’s future for the first time in my life, and I’m no longer a young man. In my world two plus two still equals four.
