A Boston Cop Shooting and Our Post-Truth Era

Excerpt Mike Barnacle at Daily Beast:

Then, Friday night, with Moynihan near death on a city street, a bullet threatening his life, there occurred a predictable and alarming sequence of events. A crowd began to gather near the site where Angelo West was killed in an exchange of fire with police.

According to several Boston cops at the crime scene, people began calling them pigs, shouting “Ferguson…Ferguson” and “hands up…don’t shoot.” This despite the fact—the fact!—that an outside camera from a store next to where the shoot-out occurred captured the image of West emerging from the driver’s side of his car to instantly shoot Moynihan, who had not even drawn his weapon.

“This is where we are now,” one of the cops said. “Everyone has their own reality. Their own facts. The truth of the situation doesn’t matter. People want to believe what they think happened. Not what really happened. That’s the recent history of almost every encounter we have lately on the street.”

The truth doesn’t matter any longer. The narrative matters only- thanks to Obama

99 % of these people can neither read, write or converse in a civil language. information is transmitted by word of drunken or drugged mouth. the majority of brains cells gone, sand Jackson use to do heroin, the fool weed and cocaine and polosi as a bar fly did when she could find.
An tape world has more intellect than these poor excuses of life.

” The truth doesn’t matter any more.” A small glimmer of hope can be found in:
{1} The Washington Post editorialist who reversed his stand on Michael Brown and the narrative of “hands up don’t shoot” after reading the DOJ report.[yes -he got savaged by those who called him an Uncle Tom and have their own truth but he never retracted his apology.]
{2} The Black actress on Empire who screamed Racial profiling about his son and promised to send her son from UCLA to Howard to prevent police racism. However, when shown the police web can and report she issued an apology. yes- she was so convinced that police racism exists she never took the time to ascertain the facts and made those statements our vaunted “fourth estate” could not wait to print,” the Narrative. However ,I trust it was a mea culpa from her heart and not a studio wag bending her ear, for her apology.

Sadly, the policeman who stated :”Every one has their own reality and ….facts ” is the norm ,today.

I guess I missed the press conference where Obama, Holder, Sharpton, Jackson, Spike Lee, etc, etc, etc, denounced this shooting? Does anyone have a link to it?

Weird that a guy who had been convicted three times was sided with over police by the crowd.
But the content of one’s character counts for zilch while the color of one’s skin is now everything.
This guy shot at police during a resisting of arrest 14 years ago.
Then, his .22 jammed after his first shot missed and hit a bar’s window,
Notice that now he was packing a .357 Magnum gun.
Really what the public ought to be mad about is that he was out on the streets at all.
Twice, since that first arrest he was let out quickly after convictions on gun possession charges.
And he hadn’t been rehabilitated whatsoever.
The crowd is ignorant, not in possession of any alternate set of facts.
They are in possession of an alternate reality, based on fantasy.
