The media elites are so blind. Where were they on civility for the past 8 years? Oh, yeah: They were part of the contributing problem.

I just spent this lovely Sunday organizing and editing close to 500 photos from yesterday’s historic march in DC. I am still inspired by the sheer joy expressed by the million marchers in DC.Can we say this is the Woodstock for conservatives? Absolutely. I’d even say if MLK were alive, he would be out marching to the Capitol with the people and give a rocking speech.

Several impressions I took home from the Rally:

A million plus attendees is my estimate of the crowd size. Compare the official crowd estimator from the 2009 Inauguration (fig. 1) to the screen cap taken of the crowds (fig. 2) yesterday. I will say there were more patriots yesterday than fans at the January 20th inauguration. Metro police say 1.2 million and they would know a thing or two about crowd counts.

I traveled to DC via a chartered bus from West Chester – I have to give kudos to Paula Stiles for taking the initiative to organize this bus trip. I must admit that it was good to be on the bus instead of being thrown under the bus. Our group arrived at Union Station and Dee and myself made our way to Freedom Square where we came upon a massive amount of people:

For a moment or two, I didn’t know where to start photographing. I got over that real quick and shot almost 500 photos on Saturday, not including video.

Wading through the crowd, we found ourselves swept away by the mass movement of people marching to the Capitol:

99.9 percent of the signs were hand made and held proudly:

The mood of the crowd was that of sheer delight, as many of the participants have never participated in a public rally. Yet here they were in Washington DC, marching with a million fellow patriots to the front lawn of the Capitol Building. You could sense a carefree joy as the marchers realized they were making history and that they were not alone in their beliefs. Waves of rolling chants from the back of the line to the front energized the crowd and gave me goosebumps.

One detail I keep noticing as I walked along  – several marchers donned t-shirts signed with numerous names:

Perhaps this was a way to represent those who could not attend in person and it demonstrates how much grassroot support this rally generated. During my time in DC on Saturday,  I chatted amicably with people from at least a dozen states and heard that every state was represented at this rally.

Arriving at the lawn of the Capitol Building the crowd was densely packed yet extremely civil – I never heard so many “pardon me” as I wandered through the crowd snapping photos and videotaping. People were open, friendly and happy to pose for a photo or laugh at your jokes.

I’ve covered many liberal protests over the years and can only say that the difference in deportment stems from what brings the groups together. Where the 9/12 Teaparty supporters gather around a mutual love of country, the leftists rallied around a common hatred – namely GWB and/or the United States. The difference is everything.

Congressman Mike Pence spoke to the amassed crowd and gets the gold star with this comment:

“There are some politicians who think of you people as astroturf. Un-American. I’ve got to be honest with you, after nine years of fighting runaway spending her on this hill, you people look like the cavalry to me.”This was a watershed event, a powerful call to action that resonates with a rally held in DC on August 28, 1963. America started on the long road of change on that sultry August day, now 47 years later, America is renewed again.

What a celebration of America was witnessed in West Chester, Pa. I have to give thanks to Carl from Delco Cruisers and Slim from Confederation of Motorcycles for arranging an impressive display of over 300 motorcycles and 25 classic cars. It was breathtaking – thank you so much for all you do!

Rich Davis organized a picture perfect rally and after party. As I told Mary Lou, a blue star mom, I always feel a thousand times happier attending a rally, this one went far and above any expectation. Kudos to Rich for making this day happen.

I wasn’t the only one feeling the love, a pedestrian walking past me observed out loud that he prefers our side of the street. I couldn’t agree more!

The rally attracted all kinds of attention, from near constant honks from passing motorists to a mysterious Moped motorist. Mr. Moped revisited our corner twice, with video camera in hand, and was greeted with cheers both times. We are just cool like that.

The sight of men in denim and leather caused bouts of abject terror with the left side of the street. The smallest of their bunch tried to instigate a fight, but Rich Davis wisely intervened and saved this person from an embarrassing situation.

I hope the FA Posse and our readers (those that celebrate this holiday) are enjoying this weekend. Yesterday I had the privilege of documenting a wildly successful Tea Party held on Independence Mall, right outside the building where the U.S. was brought into existence.

Before the celebration started, I took time to pay my respects to Ben Franklin, his grave is not far and judging by the amount of electric sparks coming from his grave, he must be spinning wildly!

If the Founding Fathers were alive today, they would find kindred spirits in the crowd that gathered for the Tea Party. Ben would have liked to poke around today’s technology, when he wasn’t chasing the women. Gotta love Ben! The video above was taped in Philly, emailed to the producers of the Dallas Tea Party and Breitbart TV. There is a lady in Arizona who has written a remarkable letter.

She submitted it to the host of a radio and television show.

From there, it has gone viral being shared around water coolers and through e-mail around the country.

I’m a home grown American citizen, 53, registered Democrat all my life. Before the last presidential election I registered as a Republican because I no longer felt the Democratic Party represents my views or works to pursue issues important to me. Now I no longer feel the Republican Party represents my views or works to pursue issues important to me. The fact is I no longer feel any political party or representative in Washington represents my views or works to pursue the issues important to me. There must be someone. Please tell me who you are. Please stand up and tell me that you are there and that you’re willing to fight for our Constitution as it was written. Please stand up now. You might ask yourself what my views and issues are that I would horribly feel so disenfranchised by both major political parties. What kind of nut job am I? Will you please tell me?

Well, these are briefly my views and issues for which I seek representation:

One, illegal immigration. I want you to stop coddling illegal immigrants and secure our borders. Close the underground tunnels. Stop the violence and the trafficking in drugs and people. No amnesty, not again. Been there, done that, no resolution. P.S., I’m not a racist. This isn’t to be confused with legal immigration.

Two, the TARP bill, I want it repealed and I want no further funding supplied to it. We told you no, but you did it anyway. I want the remaining unfunded 95% repealed. Freeze, repeal.

Three: Czars, I want the circumvention of our checks and balances stopped immediately. Fire the czars. No more czars. Government officials answer to the process, not to the president. Stop trampling on our Constitution and honor it.

Four, cap and trade. The debate on global warming is not over. There is more to say.

Five, universal healthcare. I will not be rushed into another expensive decision. Don’t you dare try to pass this in the middle of the night and then go on break. Slow down!

Six, growing government control. I want states rights and sovereignty fully restored. I want less government in my life, not more. Shrink it down. Mind your own business. You have enough to take care of with your real obligations. Why don’t you start there.

Seven, ACORN. I do not want ACORN and its affiliates in charge of our 2010 census. I want them investigated. I also do not want mandatory escrow fees contributed to them every time on every real estate deal that closes. Stop the funding to ACORN and its affiliates pending impartial audits and investigations. I do not trust them with taking the census over with our taxpayer money. I don’t trust them with our taxpayer money. Face up to the allegations against them and get it resolved before taxpayers get any more involved with them. If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck, hello. Stop protecting your political buddies. You work for us, the people. Investigate.

Eight, redistribution of wealth. No, no, no. I work for my money. It is mine. I have always worked for people with more money than I have because they gave me jobs. That is the only redistribution of wealth that I will support. I never got a job from a poor person. Why do you want me to hate my employers? Why ‑‑ what do you have against shareholders making a profit?

Nine, charitable contributions. Although I never got a job from a poor person, I have helped many in need. Charity belongs in our local communities, where we know our needs best and can use our local talent and our local resources. Butt out, please. We want to do it ourselves.

Ten, corporate bailouts. Knock it off. Sink or swim like the rest of us. If there are hard times ahead, we’ll be better off just getting into it and letting the strong survive. Quick and painful. Have you ever ripped off a Band‑Aid? We will pull together. Great things happen in America under great hardship. Give us the chance to innovate. We cannot disappoint you more than you have disappointed us.

Eleven, transparency and accountability. How about it? No, really, how about it? Let’s have it. Let’s say we give the buzzwords a rest and have some straight honest talk. Please try ‑‑ please stop manipulating and trying to appease me with clever wording. I am not the idiot you obviously take me for. Stop sneaking around and meeting in back rooms making deals with your friends. It will only be a prelude to your criminal investigation. Stop hiding things from me.

Twelve, unprecedented quick spending. Stop it now.

Take a breath. Listen to the people. Let’s just slow down and get some input from some nonpoliticians on the subject. Stop making everything an emergency. Stop speed reading our bills into law. I am not an activist. I am not a community organizer. Nor am I a terrorist, a militant or a violent person. I am a parent and a grandparent. I work. I’m busy. I’m busy. I am busy, and I am tired. I thought we elected competent people to take care of the business of government so that we could work, raise our families, pay our bills, have a little recreation, complain about taxes, endure our hardships, pursue our personal goals, cut our lawn, wash our cars on the weekends and be responsible contributing members of society and teach our children to be the same all while living in the home of the free and land of the brave.

I entrusted you with upholding the Constitution. I believed in the checks and balances to keep from getting far off course. What happened? You are very far off course. Do you really think I find humor in the hiring of a speed reader to unintelligently ramble all through a bill that you signed into law without knowing what it contained? I do not. It is a mockery of the responsibility I have entrusted to you. It is a slap in the face. I am not laughing at your arrogance. Why is it that I feel as if you would not trust me to make a single decision about my own life and how I would live it but you should expect that I should trust you with the debt that you have laid on all of us and our children. We did not want the TARP bill. We said no. We would repeal it if we could. I am sure that we still cannot. There is such urgency and recklessness in all of the recent spending.

From my perspective, it seems that all of you have gone insane. I also know that I am far from alone in these feelings. Do you honestly feel that your current pursuits have merit to patriotic Americans? We want it to stop. We want to put the brakes on everything that is being rushed by us and forced upon us. We want our voice back. You have forced us to put our lives on hold to straighten out the mess that you are making. We will have to give up our vacations, our time spent with our children, any relaxation time we may have had and money we cannot afford to spend on you to bring our concerns to Washington. Our president often knows all the right buzzword is unsustainable. Well, no kidding. How many tens of thousands of dollars did the focus group cost to come up with that word? We don’t want your overpriced words. Stop treating us like we’re morons.

We want all of you to stop focusing on your reelection and do the job we want done, not the job you want done or the job your party wants done. You work for us and at this rate I guarantee you not for long because we are coming. We will be heard and we will be represented. You think we’re so busy with our lives that we will never come for you? We are the formerly silent majority, all of us who quietly work , pay taxes, obey the law, vote, save money, keep our noses to the grindstone and we are now looking up at you. You have awakened us, the patriotic spirit so strong and so powerful that it had been sleeping too long. You have pushed us too far. Our numbers are great. They may surprise you. For every one of us who will be there, there will be hundreds more that could not come. Unlike you, we have their trust. We will represent them honestly, rest assured. They will be at the polls on voting day to usher you out of office. We have cancelled vacations. We will use our last few dollars saved. We will find the representation among us and a grassroots campaign will flourish. We didn’t ask for this fight. But the gloves are coming off. We do not come in violence, but we are angry. You will represent us or you will be replaced with someone who will. There are candidates among us when hewill rise like a Phoenix from the ashes that you have made of our constitution.

Democrat, Republican, independent, libertarian. Understand this. We don’t care. Political parties are meaningless to us. Patriotic Americans are willing to do right by us and our Constitution and that is all that matters to us now. We are going to fire all of you who abuse power and seek more. It is not your power. It is ours and we want it back. We entrusted you with it and you abused it. You are dishonorable. You are dishonest. As Americans we are ashamed of you. You have brought shame to us. If you are not representing the wants and needs of your constituency loudly and consistently, in spite of the objections of your party, you will be fired. Did you hear? We no longer care about your political parties. You need to be loyal to us, not to them. Because we will get you fired and they will not save you. If you do or can represent me, my issues, my views, please stand up. Make your identity known. You need to make some noise about it. Speak up. I need to know who you are. If you do not speak up, you will be herded out with the rest of the sheep and we will replace the whole damn congress if need be one by one. We are coming. Are we coming for you? Who do you represent? What do you represent? Listen. Because we are coming. We the people are coming.

The Sheepdogs gathered under overcast skies and soft rain – 30 in total – to celebrate what is good in America. Now how could anyone in West Chester call that radical? I love this hearty bunch of patriots!

A Tea Party that exceeded every expectation and renewed our passion to bring this country back to good. A brisk, windy day brought together nearly 400 patriots to express our frustration with the path our government has recklessly embarked upon. It was heartening to see many people laying down their silence and picking up a sign!

Special thanks goes to our speakers at this event: Quentin Cody, a sixth grade phenom; Representative Curt Schroder, a leader Pennsylvania needs, Congressman Joe Pitts, a voice of reason in Congress; and Alex from Russia who shared the “devil in details” of socialism overlooked by Democrat fans in the US.

FYI: Two local networks were contacted by a participant of this Tea Party during the rally.  Philly’s NBC Channel 10 told the caller that they had no crew to cover the event. CBS Channel 3 was happy to redirect a news crew when the caller indicated that this rally was pro Obama.  Interesting. I’m tracking down the person who called and will have more details regarding this potential bias by local news stations.

Another Saturday, another celebration of what is good about America in West Chester, Pa. It is mind boggling that some would consider this a ‘radical’ activity. Well, perhaps so, in the age of Obama.

Rich brought out his MOAF (Mother of All Flags). It is a replica of Civil War flag carried by a Pennsylvania regiment.

Post celebration photo op. A little disorganized, but it only brings out the character of this hearty bunch. It was good to be in West Chester today.

I love the grassroot appeal of these rallies – very Sheepdog like! Quite the Kodak moment we are witnessing. As Americans stand up to the reckless spending spree by the dem controlled government. For the past 8 years, you never saw a liberal organize a protest against spending by the Bush administration. They protested just about everything and anything, but never specifically government spending – unless it was directed at cutting military spending – the ‘slow bleed‘ campaign. Quite telling about the character of today’s liberal.

Valentine’s Day ~ Sheepdog Style!

Throughout 2008, the Sheepdogs have consistently held rousing rallies in West Chester with the public increasingly showing their appreciation of our positive message. Our support of America does not end with the conclusion of the rally, as many Sheepdogs worked for and achieved remarkable goals in 2008. We can look back on our triumphs with pride and look forward to our future success.

The genesis of this video occurred a few weeks ago when a student approached  Dee, one of our brilliant Sheepdogs, with a question as to why the Sheepdogs were so angry? Dee was quick to point out that we are the happy warriors, and to go look for the anger on the other side, cause it ain’t here. (paraphrased that last bit). After hearing this story from Dee, I’ve been kicking around ideas on how I could best project the joy and fellowship that occurs at each and every rally.

My hope with this video is to capture the essence of our joy and success in 2008 and  to communicate  it to the viewers. The Sheepdogs have made huge strides in turning the tide of public opinion in West Chester for 2008. This video is a celebration of all we have accomplished, and all we are yet to accomplish.

As we head into dark times with this new administration, we all can look to this video for encouragement and inspiration.

I’ve never met such consistently happy and content individuals as the Sheepdogs. Everyone needs to experience the Sheepdog joy at least once in their lives! With their numbers dwindling, the director of the CCPM has taken to bribing…err….”expressing gratitude” to groups such at VFP Chapter 31. Interesting to note: the VFP core group have been MIA for the rally several weeks running.

We invite each one of you on this list to send us a donation to share with our VFP31 friends by sending a check to the address below, payable to The Chester County Peace Movement, but making sure to note “Veterans for Peace” in the memo area – we will, in turn, send them a check as a token of our sincerest thanks. No donation is too small, and we hope you will acknowledge the continuing courage of our greatest citizens by contributing to this gesture of our appreciation.

Their peace protest seems pointless – unless they want to declare ‘No War in Pak-i-stan’.
