The Left Still Doesn’t Get the Tea Party, As Told Through the Stages of Death and Dying Part 2 of 2 [Reader Post]

Remember those long forgotten days of yesteryear, as in the years of 2000-2008? Nobody on the left seems to. Remember sayings like “Jeffersonian”, “Purple State” (along with this Newsweek cover after the 2004 elections), and phrases like “I am sick and tired of people who say that if you debate and you disagree with this administration somehow you’re not patriotic. We should stand up and say we are Americans and we have a right to debate and disagree with any administration.”? For that matter, remember all of the silly rationalizations that the left had to come up with to reconcile with the fact that they openly wanted our troops to lose a war only because of their personal hatred for the president? We heard that “Being a vegetarian is patriotic”, “Riding your bicycle to work is patriotic”, even lines dumb enough to suggest that obeying a law whose noncompliance will land you in prison was patriotic. You might, but nobody on the left does. When a leftist calls for civility, what they’re saying is, “don’t behave like we do.”

Captain America, The Press Must Not Give Equal Access To TEA Party Philosophy

Senator John Kerry, “Captain America” Democrat from MA, has validated the Liberal Media’s one sided coverage of political debate. On MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” on Friday insisted that the media has a moral obligation not to give equal time or credence to TEA Party philosophy.

With a blatant call for tyranny, Captain America, AKA John Kerry seems oblivious of his call for suspension of fundamental liberties.

$2 trillion in cuts? Washington’s fantasy math vs. Tea Party “Hobbits” [Reader Post]

The past week has been a nothing if not confusing… From the President talking about his plan which mysteriously no one ever saw to John Boehner fighting off an attack from Tea Party “Hobbits” because they said his plan was almost interchangeable with Harry Reid’s. As of Sunday night the Boehner, Reid, Obama triad had cobbled together something that “cuts” federal spending by $2.4 trillion while raising the debt ceiling by about the same. Finally! Some clarity that makes this mess easy to understand for we simpletons…

Debt Bill To Be Voted On This Afternoon….Likely To Pass; Update: Republicans “Proud” of Boehner; Update: Bill Passes House 269-161

Last night our lawmakers got a deal done to balance the budget and raise the debt limit. A powerpoint was released by Boehner’s officer:

But here are the highlights from Jake Tapper:

  • More than $900 billion in deficit reduction over 10 years through discretionary spending caps . $350 billion of that comes from the Pentagon;
  • Debt limit increased by at least $2.1 trillion — through 2013…see below for more on how that happens;

Debt Limit Drama Continues….Boehner Producing Bill Tied To A Balanced Budget Amendment; Update: More on the Reid Bill & Boehner gets a standing ovation; Update: RINO’s set to vote for Reid’s Bill; Update: Boehner’s Bill Passes after he unloads on Obama

As we all know, Boehner’s plan was shelved last night due to enough opposition from enough House Republicans to kill the bill:

Just said by Kentucky Senator Rand Paul said to Sean Hannity on Fox in live interview. If Paul is right — that there are as many as 10-14 GOP Senators who may vote against Boehner, which another report says is at this minute being “tweaked” to get conservative votes in the House — the Boehner plan as is known at this second is dead for sure.

Obama Does What He Does Best

Democrats or the National Socialist front In North America see raising taxes as the generic answer to all problems or at least an integral part of the solution. To paraphrase Rahm, “Never Let a Crisis Go To Waste Without Using It As An Excuse To Raise Taxes”. The looming default is not an emergency that popped up overnight, Obama precipitated the crisis with a stimulus that accomplished nothing, except for the sole purpose of solidifying Obama’s political base both domestic and international by using taxpayer dollars, after that boondoggle for the American people, he charged full speed into profligate spending mode. Now, quite by accident, according to the Socialist Party line, the US is nearing default and must increase its borrowing limits.

Democrats Say, Huntsman Is Our Man

The Carter record is a litany of despair, of broken promises, of sacred trusts abandoned and forgotten. His answer to all this misery? He tries to tell us that we’re only in a recession, not a depression — as if definitions — words — relieve our suffering. Let it show on the record that when the American people cried out for economic help, Jimmy Carter took refuge behind a dictionary. Well, if it’s a definition he wants, I’ll give him one: A recession is when your neighbor loses his job. A depression is when you lose yours. And recovery is when Jimmy Carter loses his!
