Today, a new sun rises over our merry band; everything about today invites one to cherish this weekly event in West Chester, Pa.
There could not have been a more perfect day for our Pro Troop/Pro Victory rally. Our presence on the Courthouse Corner was appreciated by the numerous honks of passing cars. How sweet it is!
We had a delightful treat after our moment of prayer. A female student of one of our regular attendees sweetly and publicly asked her boyfriend if he would like to attend her high school prom. Of course, he was quick to say YES!
Sorry for the blurry photo…yes…that is yours truly posing with the well versed Bellavia at CPAC earlier this year.
Iraq Veteran and author of House to House, David Bellavia announced today that he is filing the necessary paperwork with the Federal Elections Commission to form a campaign committee. The move allows Bellavia to begin raising money for his much anticipated Congressional campaign. Read the rest of this entry »
………..I will make sure to vote on April 22nd for Hillary Clinton.
No, I am NOT a 60 Democrat that many of my Republican friends have recently become in the beautiful state of Pennsylvania. I am a card carrying member of the DNC , my friends at the DNC affectionately call me “Comrade Skye’.
It is imperative for Hillary to stay in this race! We need to steer away from a clearly defined front runner for the DNC presidential nomination until the Convention in Colorado. I implore all my comrades….er friends in Pennslyvania to cast their vote for Hilary!
The women of the Chester County Victory Movement standing proudly with their flags while displaying signs of love & support for our troops.
A soldier on his way to Iraq decides to spend his last day in the States with our merry band. This action speaks volumes on how our soldiers really feel about the ’support’ shown by the Chester County Peace Movement and their ilk. Read the rest of this entry »
A beautiful day for a rally, one that ended in peace and harmony. Today, I saw many new faces mixed with old friends on the steps of the Courthouse and it was an astounding display. I look forward to many more Saturday’s spent in your company.
I want to take the opportunity give a big THANK YOU to those who took the time to email, leave comments or who stood with me today in West Chester. Those of you who worked tirelessly to get the message out - your support meant the world to me this past week.
Motoring south to DC , I wasn’t sure what to expect this past weekend outside of meeting Sunlitknight, Snooper and Paul Couturier. Between the three of us, we planned to cover the IVAW events and the pro-troop rally sponsored by Eagles Up, Move America Forward, and Gathering of Eagles. My work schedule only permitted time for me to follow the Pro Troop rally in DC. Read the rest of this entry »
A rainy day for a Rally - but our sheepdogs are resilient and showed great cheer in the pouring rain. Several new faces joined us, and I salute your tenacity. This was a fabulous day all around.
In the photo below, the gentleman in the car displays the dogtags of his son currently serving in Iraq.
Rich details the encounter in his after action report:
So many great things happened today - my favorite was a man named John Regan, who was stopped at the light about 3 cars back, and got out of his car, and walked in the rain to shake our hands on the sidewalk. And he showed us pictures of his HERO son (also named John) who is in Iraq fighting for us. This man was so appreciative, his eyes were filled with tears. In fact, he took his time, and when the light turned green - he stayed with us to talk a little more, he wears his son’s spare dogtags around his neck, he just kept saying, “Thanks for being here - you don’t know what this means to see all you people supporting my son, he’s behind a 50-calibur machine gun in Iraq right now.” And the traffice was behind him and you know what - nobody fussed about it. I think they knew what was going on.
IVAW - Iraq Veterans Against War plan on revisiting past shame by taking a page from the 1971 VVAW Winter Soldier Investigation (WSI). The IVAW is holding its own Winter Soldier Investigation this month at the National Labor College in Silver Spring, MD.
Reports of the decline of the CCVM have been greatly exaggerated!
As the remains of a recent snow storm blanketed the city of West Chester, our intrepid band of patriots turned out in good cheer, their smiles melting away the cold. I was pleased to see Frank out in this weather - nothing stops this man! Visitors from the Big Apple made an appearance at our rally, and we look forward to seeing them at future rallies. I want to thank the individual who brought the doughnuts - food is always welcome on our corner. Read the rest of this entry »
Please contact the members of the Senate Armed Services Committee. We can prevent another generation of veterans from being treated like Vietnam Veterans were. We can take action now and prevent our current hero’s from being falsely accused of crimes. Also visit Denis Keohane’s blog Obiter Dictum and see what else he has been doing about the upcoming Winter Soldier Investigation.

Videos from CPAC - Skye finally got around to editing the video and photos of this event.
You can view my CPAC photo set HERE and while I have your interest you can check out the CPAC photos of Poppyott. You might find a familiar face in his collection.
First up in the video collection is The Man - Mark Steyn. I simply adore him and so will you!
The weather on this mid-February Saturday was near perfect. I arrived early to see many new faces among our crowd and recurring favorites! I am ever inspired by the tenacity and commitment of our group - all of you are my rock! Read the rest of this entry »
After yesterday’s rare, yet honest display of open hostility towards the Marines, by representatives of Code Pink and Veterans For Peace. I present you with a clip from a panel discussion I attended at CPAC. The speaker is SSG David Bellavia and he is describing the importance of Iraq and Afghanistan to him and his three fellow panelists.
There is no pithy commentary that I can compose that can improve upon David’s statements:
Sitting at my kitchen table, surrounded by a collection of memorabilia from this weekend’s CPAC in Washington DC as I write this post. Reflecting on the meeting events, it occurs to me that the magic and appeal of CPAC does not come from the political glitterati that sweep in for a speech then leave; but from the people who are on the front lines of preserving conservative values around this nation and abroad. These are MY people, it was an honor to spend quality time with them, instead of the glitterati.
