Tell me again how there’s no border crisis

In the dem response to Donald Trump’s televised argument for a wall, Nancy Pelos accused Trump of “manufacturing a crisis”

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) said in a televised address on Tuesday night that President Donald Trump was “manufacturing a crisis” over his fight to get $5.7 billion in border security funding.

Pelosi and Schumer rebutted President Trump’s televised address on Tuesday night, contending that President Trump has harmed thousands of Americans with his governmen

shutdown. The Democrat leaders said that a border wall along the southern border is both “expensive” and “ineffective.”

Pelosi said in reaction to Trump’s speech, “Sadly, much of what we heard from President Trump during this senseless shutdown has been misinformation and even malice.”

Pelosi is unquestionably one of the most dishonest and execrable pieces of garbage ever to stink up Congress. The entire democrat party is just plain corrupt.

In 2014 obama said there was a border crisis and no one – not even Pelosi- disputed it. The media swallowed whole. Surprisingly, one left wing talk host dared ask about democrats’ complete flip flop on border security:

It’s so rare that a member of the media actually confronts Democrats on anything, that it’s worth noting when they do. That happened on Thursday’s Morning Joe on MSNBC, when anchor Willie Geist asked Democrat guest how his party could call something “immoral” that they voted for back in 2006.

The exchange happened at the end of the interview with Democrat Senator Chris Coons. Geist confronted him about his party’s own leaders voting for a southern border wall back in 2006:

Democrats, Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi have been indignant, they’ve been outraged about the very idea of a wall on the border. Nancy Pelosi calling it “immoral” to put up a wall on the southern border. But as you know, in 2006, there was a Secure Fence act voted for by many, many Democrats. The vote was 80-19 in the Senate, Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama and yes Chuck Schumer voted for that 700 miles of fence along the southern border. Are they being disingenuous, are they being hypocritical now to be suddenly outraged about the very idea of a barrier along the southern border?

Coons noted he wasn’t in Congress in 2006, but that Democrats were for border security and more needed to be done about it.

There was a time when democrats actually testified that walls work

Acosta went to the wall to embarrass Trump but wound up making an ass of himself finding out walls do work.

When democrats want to protect their own asses, then walls are necessary:

The Democratic National Committee embraced the idea of border protection in 2016 — as long as that border was around the building housing its national convention.

Protesters against the Democratic Party’s nomination of Hillary Clinton were met with tall fencing around the perimeter of the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia during July 2016.

Many of the protesters who gathered outside of the barrier were supporters of Independent Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders.

Some Democrats, like Brady Brassfield, told WJLA they felt “cheated” after seeing the extensive security constructed by the DNC.

“They don’t want to hear what we want to say or see what we have out here, really,” Brassfield said.

CNN went to the border looking to prove Trump wrong. When they interviewed agents and were told walls actually work, it declined the story from the local news outlet:

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – Thursday morning, CNN called the KUSI Newsroom asking if one of our reporters could give them a local view of the debate surrounding the border wall and government shutdown.

KUSI offered our own Dan Plante, who has reported dozens of times on the border, including one story from 2016 that was retweeted by former Speaker of the House, Newt Gingrich, and posted on DrudgeReport.com. The Border Fence Tour is below.

We believe CNN declined a report from KUSI because we informed them that most Border Patrol Agents we have spoken to told us the barrier does in fact work.

We have continuously been told by Border Patrol Agents that the barrier along the Southern border helps prevent illegal entries, drugs, and weapons from entering the United States, and the numbers prove it.

Is there a need for the wall? We know democrats were for it before they contracted terminal TDS, but what do the experts say?

Obama’s border patrol chief ripped into Pelosi and Schumer:

Before rebuking the “fact-checks,” Morgan ripped the liberal media for acting as their own “self-appointed experts” who spout off their own opinions. “Go to the experts that are really working that,” he told them. “I’ll say, the President has done that. The President is talking to the leadership of CBP and the Border Patrol, and the rank in & file, and those are experts and they’re saying, ‘the wall works’. It doesn’t work everywhere. It’s not the end all to be all, but it works.

The first dubious liberal media claim on the chopping block was their suggestion that drugs coming across the border were negligible because most drug traffic came in through official points of entry.

Again, a complete disingenuous statement. So you want to say, because more drugs enter the points of entry, therefore it’s not a problem in between the ports. That’s just fictitious. It is correct, more drugs, enter throughout point of entry,” Morgan said before reiterating that there were “millions and millions of pounds of drugs” still coming in the other way.

Border Patrol Sector Chief Raul Ortiz:

Citing the example of another sector that went from 5 to 64 miles of fencing, decreasing illegal crossings by over 90 percent, Hannity asked Ortiz if fencing would have a similar result in his sector.

“Most definitely,” said Ortiz. “We have about 55 miles of fencing already in this sector, and it’s on our east side. It accounts for about 6 percent of my traffic. On my west side where I have very little fencing and very little technology it accounts for 94 percent of my traffic. And so we need to finish the job. I have got 35 Gates that are wide open. We have started construction on those gates.”

Ortiz praised President Trump as the “first president to come down here since I have been down here in five years.”

“During 2014 we had the humanitarian crisis with unaccompanied children,” he said, “I didn’t have anybody from the White House come down here and show the support for the men and women of the border patrol, CBP and DHS. Having the president come down here means an awful lot.”

And the cost to Americans?

The toll in American lives is long and painful. There’s a list here. Damned liberals don’t give a rip.

https://twitter.com/PoliticalShort/status/1083833655338913793

democrats do, however, love them some MS 13:

Three MS-13 gang members in the United States illegally have been arrested for allegedly stabbing a fellow high school student in Long Island.

All three gang members have been identified as being in the country illegally, two having entered as unaccompanied minors, ABC7 News reported, citing police. One member who entered as an unaccompanied minor and another have previously been apprehended by the Department of Homeland Security but federal judges later released them.

A group of teens visited a Huntington Station Burger King Wednesday afternoon when, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney, a group of gang members began staring at the teens in a “menacing way.” Fox5 News reported that the gang members, now identified as MS-13, followed the teens out and attacked them with baseball bats and knives.

Schumer and Pelosi help facilitate a sexual assault enterprise not far from where they work:

In the shadow of the U.S. Capitol, under 30 miles from where House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer comfortably work, an MS-13 illegal alien gang associate has been charged with paying fellow gang leaders $100 to have sex with a 14-year-old and then filming it to blackmail her into performing other illicit services for the gang.
ABC7’s Kevin Lewis reports that 52-year-old Felix Silva-Zuniga has been arrested on charges of secretly filming the encounter with the 14-year-old girl where he paid other gang leaders $100 to have sex with her and then used the film as blackmail to force her to engage in more illicit activities

But since it affects neither of them personally, they don’t care. Hating Trump is more important than American lives.

This is what ICE, the agency liberals want to abolish, did last year:

In the last year alone, ICE agents arrested more than 6,600 convicted murderers and convicted sex offenders who were in the United States illegally.

Of that total, 4,975 of the illegal aliens arrested were convicted sex offenders. The other 1,641 illegal aliens had been convicted of homicide. Another 1,913 illegal aliens that were arrested by ICE had pending sex offense charges against them, while 387 illegal aliens had pending murder charges against them.

As Trump properly pointed out:

Our southern border is a pipeline for vast quantities of illegal drugs – including meth, heroin, cocaine and fentanyl. Every week, 300 of our citizens are killed by heroin alone – 90 percent of which floods across from our southern borderMore Americans will die from drugs this year than were killed in the entire Vietnam War.

But arguably the most sobering statistic I have seen is this one:

Enough to kill the entire US population. That’s mind boggling.

Tell me again how there is no border crisis. If you don’t think this is a crisis, you’re a goddam idiot. Or a democrat.

Pelosi is unquestionably one of the most dishonest and execrable pieces of garbage ever to stink up Congress. The entire democrat party is just plain corrupt.

And the competition is fierce.

In the last year alone, ICE agents arrested more than 6,600 convicted murderers and convicted sex offenders who were in the United States illegally.

Probably could have caught more if California mayors would not warn the criminals before ICE got there. But, I guess out there, that’s how representatives of the People show them they care; by protecting criminals and keeping them on the streets.

The crisis is that there is finally a guy in office that will do exactly what he says he will do. He wants to protect the country, he doesn’t care what the media says about him and liberals cannot call him worse names for securing the border than they call him for just waking up on a daily basis. So, what do they possibly have to scare Trump off with? What are they going to do… INVESTIGATE him?

Looks like we have an emergency on our hands. Better build a wall. Remember, liberals… this is how you wanted it. He’s going to get the wall and YOU don’t get DACA.

Nasty Nancy and Chucky Sleeze,selling out America as fast as they please, The New World Order is what they seek, Their smell is horrid reek, Their names nancy and chuck,all They want your hard earned buck,March to the shore annd the sea,And down with the DNC

Good borders means most illegal entries must be funneled thru official entries, ports airports roadways.
At those places drug-sniffing dogs or even machines can catch much more of the illegal drugs.
Terrorists can be stopped.
Human traffickers can be slowed to a crawl.
Repeat deportees coming back can be stopped.

Sure there’s those monied cartels using tunnels, submarines, fishing boats, private planes, even catapulting drugs over the border.
But even these will be easier to catch when hardly anyone else if moving across.

@Deplorable Me, #1:

Pelosi is unquestionably one of the most dishonest and execrable pieces of garbage ever to stink up Congress. The entire democrat party is just plain corrupt.

Nancy Pelosi isn’t under investigation by authorities in multiple jurisdictions. She doesn’t have a lengthy history of law suits and hush money payoffs. She isn’t suspected of collusion with an adversarial foreign government, nor does her behavior suggest such collusion may have involved potentially treasonous reciprocity. Worse still, she’s a very effective political leader, and once again Speaker of the House.

Trump’s way of operating creates enemies. He has alienated many influential and powerful people, just about everyone who considers themselves a democrat, and many people in his own party. (Assuming he ever really was a republican.) This is all going to catch up with him. The controversy over border wall funding isn’t going to remain a distraction forever. It will be resolved, one way or the other, because the government simply can’t remain in shut-down mode indefinitely. Then what will he do?

@Greg: It’s not illegal for her husband to be awarded a contract. If you need a precedent, look at the entire history of government contracts. Her and Chinas favorite gal Feinstein.
What if Dons kids got big government contracts even at state level???

@Greg:

Nancy Pelosi isn’t under investigation by authorities in multiple jurisdictions.

Yeah, that’s a real proof of innocence, isn’t it? The same DOJ that wrote the exoneration of Hillary before the investigation began, allowed her and her gang to destroy evidence, gave them all immunity, didn’t document their interview of her and has not prosecuted her even though she is on video lying to Congress. The same NYC attorneys that will not pursue Al Sharpton for delinquent taxes. Yeah, we KNOW if Pelosi ever did anything wrong, the liberal-dominated judicial system would be all over it.

After over three years of illegal surveillance and the DOJ and almost every “journalist” in American trying to find a crime, what exactly have you found that Trump has done wrong? Hmmm?

@kitt:

It’s not illegal for her husband to be awarded a contract.

It’s not illegal when Reid did it, either. Or Waters. Or Kerry. It’s only illegal when they think they can smear a Republican with it. But, the fact that Pelosi hasn’t been prosecuted for it definitely means she’s as pure as the driven snow.

@kitt: Well, like CNN deciding not to do a report on the border wall from San Diego because the facts were not what they wanted to report, the left is careful not to accidentally report any actual facts that do not support the left.

https://dailycaller.com/2019/01/14/activists-pelosi-mansion-wall/

I hope there are more people like this with the funds and ability to get out of jail that can do things like this. This is how these hypocritical liars should be treated.

Nancy “I won’t talk or negotiate, but it’s all your fault” Pelosi thinks Trump should delay his SOTU speech until the government is reopened. I guess she doesn’t want her pet networks broadcasting Trump speaking directly to the American people and explaining how Schumer shut the government down and she is keeping it closed all to put the interests of illegal immigrants ahead of the safety and security of US citizens.

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-latin-america-45925186 They have been given the formula, bring kids. It makes you more photogenic, garners more sympathy and harder to deport. They leave out the green card to obtain a job part.

@Greg: Its not going to be concrete.

@Greg: Really? Is that where your desperation has take and abandoned you? Trump is not talking about building a metaphorical wall. He is going to build a real wall, like Israel, Turkey, Jordan has, which works. A wall BETTER than what exists in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California… which works pretty well.

Obviously, Democrats are willing to see any level of damage done to the US to try and keep Trump from succeeding if THAT clip signifies your argument. Pitiful.

January 16, 2019 — Nancy Pelosi just pulled a major power move on Donald Trump’s State of the Union

Sometimes the best power moves in politics are conveyed in the most mundane language.

“Sadly, given the security concerns and unless government re-opens this week, I suggest we work together to determine another suitable date after government has re-opened for this address or for you to consider delivering your State of the Union address in writing to the Congress on January 29,” wrote Speaker Nancy Pelosi to President Donald Trump on Wednesday.

Make no mistake: Pelosi’s decision to disinvite Trump from delivering his “State of the Union” address to Congress is a total power play designed to remind Trump that a) Congress is a co-equal branch of government and b) his willingness to keep the government shuttered until he gets money for a border wall is going to have impacts on him, too.

Just in case you missed that message, Pelosi delivered it again in an interview with CNN’s Ashley Killough. “This is a housekeeping matter in the Congress of the United States, so we can honor the responsibility of the invitation we extended to the President,” said Pelosi. “He can make it from the Oval Office if he wants.”

What Pelosi is saying there is, essentially, this: Look, Trump can give a speech if he wants. But we are not giving him the platform of a bipartisan session of Congress to do it unless and until he reopens the government. (House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer of Maryland went a step further in an interview with CNN’s Kate Bolduan Wednesday afternoon, declaring that “the State of the Union is off.”)

And from a logistical standpoint, Pelosi is well within her rights to rescind the invitation…

Think you can bully Pelosi? Forget about it. She’ll shove back. You’re not a king. You’re the head of one of three branches of a constitutional government designed to keep the process balanced. If you want respect, you’ve got to reciprocate by giving it. If you want to get things done, you’ve got to be willing to compromise with those who have different ideas. That’s how it works in this country, by design. You won’t get away with bringing the nation’s government to a halt if you don’t get your way. Take a look at the current poll averages. “My way or the highway” isn’t working out for you. You should consider trying something different.

@Greg: It isn’t a power move its a cowardly move. They looked pretty damn bad after Trumps last speech, she cant let it be known how well the union is doing under promises kept.
Yes he can do this from the Oval office where he looks more powerful behind that desk Barry had no respect for, propping his feet on it. Yes Don can appear very powerful in that office not some podium with shots of Pelosi trying to get that seed from under her dentures, or chewing her cud or whatever that thing she does with her mouth. She dodges the Angel moms in the halls of congress, but would be trapped there.
We know what this is about and are shocked she and Chuckie dont sprout feathers and a beak.

It isn’t a power move its a cowardly move.

Maybe he should shove her again, just to see if she cringes.

@Greg: She just lies about security for the event, you know DHS and the SS said there wasnt any issue providing security for the event. lies lies and more lies maybe she should just go chew her cud, stupid cow.
Prior to 2018, unemployment has only been below 4% 5 times since 1970

Under Donald Trump, in 2018, unemployment dipped below 4% 7 TIMES—in ONE year!

What exactly are the Democrats resisting?

@Greg: And that’s what it’s about with these slimy Democrats, isn’t it? Power. Stopping things. Obstruction.

Bottom line is, she and other Democrats don’t want their pet media outlets to cover Trump telling the American people the truth about the shutdown; that Schumer had a bill in his hand that would fund border security and the wall and which Trump would have signed, keeping the government open and SCHUMER decided to reject it and close the government.

She wants her mess cleaned up before Trump goes before the American people. Well, she’s just your typical, run of the mill liberal hate generator. She is garbage.

So, he doesn’t need to address the Democrats; just address the members of the government that actually care about this country. Let’s see who shows up for that.

So, we have another caravan on its way. It will undoubtedly grow as large as the last one, perhaps larger. Democrats don’t want a wall, they don’t want security, they don’t want troops, they don’t want larger detention centers.

So, what is the Democrat’s plan to face this challenge? Just deny it is there, like last time?

How does it feel to support scum?

@kitt, #18:

What exactly are the Democrats resisting?

Extortion would probably be on the list somewhere.

@Deplorable Me, #19:

How does it feel to support scum?

I wouldn’t know. How does it feel to be aboard a sinking ship? Trump needs to change his behavior. Unfortunately, I don’t believe that’s very likely to happen. His problem is that his success has been based on behavior that is no longer working for him. He has been rewarded by it for too long. Also, his enemy list has grown too long. It now includes people he needs to work with, and important national institutions that are more enduring than any individual–Congress as an equal branch of government, for example, or the media, which informs and shapes public perceptions. In the end, constantly attacking everything becomes self-defeating.

@Greg: Trump took an oath to uphold the laws and defend the Constitution. Expecting Congress to enable that is not extortion. Extortion is what the Democrats are trying to play on Trump and it ain’t working.

You don’t know because supporting anti-American scum is normal for you.

@Greg: Article 4 section 4 Section Four requires the United States to protect each state from invasion. It does not say against an armed force. All it takes is the governor to demand protection.
The democrats by denying a barrier against illegal aliens from entering their state are breaking their oath of office. They are a clear and present threat to the republic.
The President is attempting to secure our borders with proven and effective technology a barrier. It can certainly be enhanced with newer technology. The physical barrier is not subject to electronic attacks rendering it useless, nor the technology being out of date and not supported like windows 3.1.

@Greg:

So, how about the answer?

@kitt: It is also a violation of federal law to aid and abet illegal immigrants, yet this seems to be the Democrats’ predominant agenda.

@Deplorable Me, #23:

So, how about the answer?

The last immigrant invasion force of rapists, murderers, and drug-carrying gang members didn’t exactly come crashing across the southern border like a tidal wave, did they?

That’s because we already have border security, consisting of a long-existing combination of walls and fences in strategic locations, electronic surveillance systems in others, and 19,887 border patrol agents (who have been working without pay for over 3 weeks, because of the big-brained, very stable genius and master negotiator that you put in the White House). Democrats have supported rational border security measures all along, and would likely support rational and effective additions to what currently exists. They are not, however, going to support Trump’s ego and behavior by handing him the first installment on an estimated $20-to-$30 billion wall project.

Trump’s political stunt and financial boondoggle of an “answer” is not the answer. He said in no uncertain terms that he would take ownership of the shut-down. Fine. Pelosi will happily let him. That, at least, is working out for him.

This shut down is a standoff between traitorous sellouts and citizens that want laws upheld and enforced.

@Greg: All I needed to do is turn to the mediafor your canned ham answer, it was down loaded to them from the DNC, hey boys and girls heres the talking points.
What you dont have is fact, they did attempt to storm the border and had to be repelled with tear gas. The less than 1/2 of the border secured still has to be manned, they throw rocks and injure the officers.I would like to see 100 & of the border secured so we dont catch 2000 every single month. Those were not detained at a port of entry. Ranchers are finding Prayer rugs on their property along with dead bodies on a regular basis. Measles, parasites and Tuberculosis ( TB ) an infectious disease are a daily reality for those running detention centers.
There are no viable solutions offered we tried it the Progressive way, its time to try it in a different manner. Solutions offered by those that work at the border.
The Democrats cant lead, wont follow so just get out of the way.

@Greg:

The last immigrant invasion force of rapists, murderers, and drug-carrying gang members didn’t exactly come crashing across the southern border like a tidal wave, did they?

Being a liberal, of course, you mischaracterize in order to hamper the conversation. In no way is it asserted that the entire invasion force are rapists, murderers or drug-carrying gang members, but while you make this farcical as a way to imply there are none, we know that are some… many, in fact. These are the overwhelming concern.

True, they didn’t barge across our border. Care to speculate as to why? I will leave that there and allow (expect) you to reply and we’ll discuss that further.

That’s because we already have border security, consisting of a long-existing combination of walls and fences in strategic locations, electronic surveillance systems in others,

So, with about 100,000 a year entering (how can we possibly know?) and 300,000 to 500,000 a year stopped, how’s the current mode of securing the border doing? You all declare walls and fences don’t work; well, not the current version, unless backed up by manpower. Electronic surveillance (the “virtual wall”) has been deemed an utter failure. We have broad stretches with NO walls or fences.

Democrats have supported rational border security measures all along, and would likely support rational and effective additions to what currently exists.

Oh, yeah… sure they have. The most popular Facebook posts of late are the Utube videos of your Democrats declaring their loathing of illegal immigration and dedication to the support of border security, walls and fences. Yet, here we are; in a border security impasse with a government shutdown over $5.7 billion. $25 billion has been previously approved, but not spent; not on border security, anyway. Back not too long ago, everyone was for it, but no one did anything about it. Now, someone WILL do something about it, but Democrats are against it. This makes sense by only a very few explanations and NONE of those include Democrats being sincere about stopping illegal immigration and securing our border. The Democrats were all for it… before they were against it. They were all for it before TRUMP was for it; now they are against it. The spoiled, sore loser children in Congress just want to TALK about being tough on illegal immigration, but they had their bratty little hearts set on 20 million and growing new voters (don’t understand English? No worries… just put your mark… right…. here.) and they don’t care what happens to US citizens to get them.

Reliance on electronic surveillance?

Q: What about the “virtual fence”? That will take care of the gaps in the real fence, won’t it?

Sure, sure, and I’ve got some oceanfront property in Loving County that might interest you. In 2005 the DHS’ Secure Border Initiative allowed for the construction of a “virtual fence” to accompany the physical fence—essentially a network of surveillance towers outfitted with cameras, radar, and communication technology. But this turned out to be little more than a $7.6 billion boondoggle. After spending more than a billion dollars, Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano put the virtual fence on hold this past March, just before the Government Accountability Office released a report that said it was severely defective.

Border security, as long as it doesn’t work; is that what you want? Seems to be.

Trump’s political stunt and financial boondoggle of an “answer” is not the answer.

Trump’s stunt? Need I remind you that the final bill the 115th House sent sent the 115th Senate had the requisite funding, merely $5.7 billion, which if it got to Trump’s desk he would have signed and the government would have remained open? Your weasel-boy Chuckie took that and forbade Democrats from supporting it, KNOWING this was going to cause the shutdown. Nincompoop Nancy digs in her hooves and declares “Not one dollar for the wall” KNOWING, as desperately as we need border security and the wall, this will keep the government closed. Political stunt indeed. LIBERAL political stunt.

Pelosi says walls are “immoral”. But she has one. She also put funding in one of her obscene joke examples of legislation for a wall in Jordan, foreign abortions, foreign aid to countries who expect the United States to take care of all their problem children, but nothing for the safety and security of the American people.
But, not a stunt… right?

If Pelosi and Schumer are so righteous, why did they find it necessary to try and lie about how Trump acted in the last meeting where they told him they prefer the government closed to citizens being safe? Can they just not help themselves and HAVE to lie?

@kitt, #26:

All I needed to do is turn to the mediafor your canned ham answer, it was down loaded to them from the DNC, hey boys and girls heres the talking points.

You’ll hear it stated on the media because it’s the reality of the situation.

Every congressional representative who represents a border district opposes funding Trump’s wall. Are their constituents not the Americans living closest to the situation? How do you explain this?

@Greg: Within Gonzalez’s district is McAllen, a Texas border town with a seen a partial border fencing , which for some reason Jim could find no crisis while standing on the US side of that barrier.
Does this representative read any news from his district while he is safe and cozy in DC
The 7 illegal aliens arrested and charged with aggravated robbery in McAllen, Texas, The Rio Grande Valley is the U.S. Border Patrol’s busiest sector, accounting for 40 percent of the apprehensions of illegal border-crossers along the entire 2,000-mile U.S.-Mexico border. Three illegal aliens with criminals records involving sex offenses against children were arrested in three separate incidents in Texas, reported the U.S. Customs and Border Protection agency (CBP). The agency said that on Tuesday, Oct. 9, its officers in McAllen, Texas “arrested a Mexican national after he illegally entered the United States …
imagine if the barrier was extended further away from our fellow citizens in McAllen
With of course the addition higher tech equipment, The highly ignorant remark about the age of technology of barrier fences this tech goes much further back and is effectively used today on borders across the globe.
Nothing is 100% effective Jericho comes to mind, there is tons of evidence barriers are effective and should be presented to these representatives and they can present their extensive data they dont work at the same time.
A wall isnt the only technology to keep dangerous humans in prison is it? Still some determined escape and they still build prisons with walls and fences around them why is that?

@Greg:

Every congressional representative who represents a border district opposes funding Trump’s wall.

You need to provide citations to prove that, but can you think of a reason why SOME would oppose the wall or border security at all? Could it be because many of the residents there fully support illegal immigration because those could be considered their constituents? There is a good reason why no Democrats will meet with the Angel Moms and hear their views; their policy of being willing to trade a few thousand citizen’s lives for millions of illegal immigrants would not go over too well.

And, you never answered what the liberal plan is to stop the oncoming and all future invasion caravans when you oppose all effective means of defending the border. What was it that prevented the last invasion caravan from crossing the border? Clock’s ticking!

January 17, 2019 – TSA acknowledges financial stress of shutdown is forcing growing number of officers to stay home

Thought for the day: International airports are ports of entry. The United States has over 40 million foreign visitors per year, many of which arrive daily by air.

@Greg: Maybe Schumer should have signed that funding bill he had that Trump would have signed and the government would be open today. But, that would deny the Democrats an issue to exploit, wouldn’t it? THAT’S what the Democrats are all about, all the time; generating division and conflict. It’s how tyranny begins.

Democrats don’t care about border security; who would think they would care about airport security? Not surprising to me.

Demokrats want open borders and no Voter ID. No one has to be an Einstein to figure this one out.

@Greg: For those with five to nine years of experience, average earnings amount to $45K annually. Between the one and five year mark, median pay is $41K per year. Overall, the greater share of United States Transportation Security Administration (TSA) folks have 10-19 years of experience and earn an average $55K annually.
Not a great deal of money depending on where you live. But many banks and credit unions are offering assistance, as they know the employees will get back pay and they can make a little bit on interest. If they dont go to work they wont be paid back, many looking for better paying jobs who can blame them.

Who’s got the power?

One also has to have the understanding to effectively and constructively utilize it.

@Greg: Yeah, Nancy didn’t and now she’s a-foot. Think she learned a lesson?

She probably knew as much as she needed to know about Donald Trump already.

@Greg: Ok so she has been shoved what do you expect next from one step from a nursing home lady?

She doesn’t have to do much of anything but make reasonable compromise offers. Trump has made a threat that he can’t make good on. He can’t let the federal government remain shut down.

@kitt: The question lot in all this is, what the hell business does Pelosi have going on an overseas trip? I guess the government would just stay closed while she is living it up on the taxpayer nickel, what is her business in Europe, Egypt and Afghanistan? The answer is she HAS no business going.

She should pay for the trip out of her own pocket then submit and expense report to Trump for reimbursement. It she accomplished anything for the benefit of the nation, she can get her money back. If not, she can eat the cost.

@Greg:

She doesn’t have to do much of anything but make reasonable compromise offers.

So, when will that be starting? So far, all she’s done is say “Not one dollar”. She’s not interested in being reasonable, compromise or reopening the government. She just wants to beat Trump down and he knows this. Does that sound like a recipe for progress?

He telling the public that “walls are immoral” while she has one around her home tells us about how reasonable she is capable of being. Remember, this is what YOUR party wanted when they put that self-serving lunatic in charge. The government is not going to reopen until she realizes she is totally wrong. When do you see that happening?

@Deplorable Me, #42:

Democrats have been cooperating with bipartisan compromise efforts for quite a long time.

The Border Security, Economic Opportunity, and Immigration Modernization Act of 2013, introduced by Democratic Senator Charles Schumer, was passed in the Senate by a vote of 68-32. Among other things, it would have added 40,000 more border security personnel, created a point-based immigration process with admission based on merit, and reined in H1B visa abuses. It was promptly killed by the republican-majority House. Obama would have signed it.

Last February, a bipartisan compromise was reached that would created a citizenship pathway for 2 million undocumented young adults who have lived in the United States since being brought here as children, and also have provided $25 billion in new border security funding. Trump pissed on the compromise agreement just before it came up for a vote in the Senate, effectively killing it. He then proclaimed the effort at compromise to be “a total catastrophe.” He backed a politically hopeless alternate bill that would have greatly increased Executive Branch deportation powers. That was his contribution.

He doesn’t want this solved. He’s dependent on maintaining the immigration issue as an unresolved problem.

Yeah, that’s why the government is not closed and the disaster of Obamacare has been fixed. Right? Because Democrats want to help?

He doesn’t want this solved. He’s dependent on maintaining the immigration issue as an unresolved problem.

Oh. Give him the $5.7 billion and call his bluff. That’ll teach him.

The reason Democrats oppose this is because Trump will actually DO it. Like yourself, they don’t want border security. Not one bit. Like you, they will now, though they have supported all the border security measures in the past, claim that all the failed methods of border security is all we need because they want the flow of illegal immigrants uninterrupted, no matter how much it costs the American taxpayer or how many Americans die at the hands of criminal illegal immigrants.
